I went there on the evening of June 9th, at about seven o clock. There was not anyone else in the restaurant, yet there were tables that had not been cleaned--- the table we sat at had a used bandaid on it. I cleaned it up myself as the other table by the window was covered in used dishes. I dont expect things to be perfect when I go out to eat, but the service was honestly terrible. I was in line behind the person I went out to eat with; the gentleman behind the counter took his order and then turned around and started a conversation with the cook about how badly he wanted to go home and take a nap. I waited there for another forty seconds or so before he came back to the till and took my order. The food was good, and it came out quickly, but the employees had loud, inappropriate conversations for the first few minutes of our meal. Notably, they were talking about "getting kicked in the balls." Towards the end of the meal, there was another employee (not the one who took our order) stocking napkins next to us who was very kind and polite, I wish I had got his name. I love crepes, but I dont see myself coming back here anytime soon. I understand that food service can be difficult work, and I dont mind when employees speak loudly to one another. But the conversation needs to be appropriate, and the restaurant needs to be clean. Unacceptable.

My wife and I visited French Press for the first time today, and were very impressed. It is the perfect little café. The premises is somewhat similar in style to Starbucks, but without all the merchandise cluttering up the place. The architecture has a lot of natural materials that give it a sophisticated atmosphere. The menu was very well organized, with clear categories on the crepés that made it easy to find one that you liked. We were surprised at the low prices for the crepés ($5 for breakfast & sweet crepés, $8 for savory), which are large and just filling enough. The ingredients are high quality and fresh, and the crepes are served in an attractive manner. We did not try their coffee, but there seemed to be a large selection of choices and prices were quite reasonable. The only thing that I did not like was that the menu could not be easily read except when one is right at the register. It would be nice if there was a rack with printed menus available so that one could make up their mind a bit before they order. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. High-quality dining at very reasonable prices. A new favorite!

I was disappointed by this place. The crepe I received was not the crepe I ordered (long story). The crepe itself was overly sweet, thick, and bland tasting. The filling made me sick. The portion made me feel like a dog, also the way it was plated. It was overly messy to the point where it didnt look appetizing. To be honest, the smoothie was a 6/10, good but dust go crazy over it and the large was really good. Id say if you wanted to go there, get a coffee because the coffee itself (we have it pretty plain) had a nice bold, rich flavor and wasnt super bitter. Very nice. :) I proborly wont be going back just for coffee but everything else was not good. Also, the cherry on top was the service/cashier was rude and seemed like he had worked there some time but didnt know his menu. He said gruyuer wasnt on the menu,it was on their menu posted online. Little bummer there. Just my opinion: Skip it, go to Panera next door and spend 60% of what you would at the French Press. Not French food in the slightest, Salem food again... (I realize its in Salem but man, can we get just one decent place??)

I was so excited to hear the they now offer gluten free options .Today I decided to try I ordered a breakfast crepe . When the waiter came I asked again if the crepe was gluten free ,he stated YES I proceeded to eat. About 5 min later he came back and asked me if I had ordered two crapes because the one he had was gluten free and he was sorry but the one I was eating was not Gluten free. I AM CONCERNED this is NOT a fad diet when someone has Celiac is devastating to consume gluten . All l got was a shrug and a sorry .I think their is a lack of education I wonder if they actually cook the gluten free options separate and understand Celiac is a allergy with consequence if gluten is consumed. I would hope that this post will serve as education and a warning to others who have Celiac

I am obsessed with their Almond Milk Chai Lattes. But the restaurant itself is to busy to go in and order things to go. And often times the service at the drive through is honestly awful. I usually end up at Human Bean or will just wait until i find a Dutch --and lets be honest: their coffee sucks. & If I order food I often find myself missing things when I get home or end up going inside anyways to grab it. One time they put my cup on the bar and yelled it out instead of handing it to me in the window and when they realized it he literally said "sorry its probably cold now. Its been sitting for a while" They would also benefit from more square footage.

Ive always had great service, staff are friendly and attentive, cooks all do a wonderful job and are very accommodating with special request. The service is so fast that a good deal of the time my crepes are delivered fresh and hot off the grill before my coffee is ready. The coffee service could use a bit of improvement. It can take a bit of time if you order a latte or cappuccino and depending on who is making it that day it can either be great or mediocre. Its a great place to meet friends and stay a while for good conversation or bring your laptop and get some work done. Im heading there now with my family for some breakfast crepes. Yum yum!

Great Atmosphere, good coffee and tea. The idea is fantastic and I hope they do well. I love the crepes, but have found that there isnt a consistency in the product or its presentation. It would serve them well to up their game in that area. The seating is a challenge at times, but well worth the effort. I try and go when I think it will be less crowded. I have enjoyed introducing my friends to French Press and taking out of town guests there. I may be shooting myself in the foot, the more people who find out about this great place, the more crowded it will become.

Great ambiance from outside in. Their baked goods for the display case is constanty empty. The management clearly did not care when brought to his attention. It has been so inconsistent that now our office calls before driving their, if we go their at all. There dish washer frequently answers the phone, His customer service skills are as putrid as a stink bomb. Their crepes are generic in taste and not worth the $6.95 that they charge, which is why we go for their baked goods that they never have.

My husband and I have been to French Press a number of times. We love to take our friends here to sample the delicious food. Today my husband and I shared a BLTA. If you are really hungry, you will have no problem eating it by yourself. We like to split ours so we can splurge on the fruit crepes too! My favorites so far are Tiramisu and Chocolate/PB and banana. I dont care for bananas, BUT this was awesome! My husband ordered this thinking he would get it all to himself. :-)
