All Knowing
Hello, My name is Scott and my wife Alice and I visited this location (Depoe Bay) during the week of the 4th of July and we experienced some of the rudest customer service "ever"!!! Im giving our total experience "two" stars and not "one" simply because our white mocha was pretty good, but well never return because of that less than stellar customer service experience... I see that this location has received a negative feedback before and it also looks like the owner, or whomever responded to the negative complaint basically accused the feedback as non legitimate, so let me prove that this experience indeed took place, my invoice number was 0015, on 07/10/2015, at 10:20 and 49 seconds in the a.m. and the total was for $7.25 plus tip. I had even asked for our tip back following the horrible experience and were refused, so thats also pretty bad, wouldnt you say??? So now let me get to my complaint. I paid with a debit Visa card and on the back of the card I have "SEE I.D.", the blonde haired woman that was helping me never asked for my I.D., so I showed her the back of the card and then she asked for my I.D., I went the extra mile to explain that we had just been the victims of identity theft and thats why I was even bringing the situation to her attention to begin with, but to our amazement she responded with, "well it looks like what you really need to be doing is practicing how to sign your name", I responded with excuse me, giving her a possible out, but she actually responded with the same quote, but even more angrily, so I asked her to please pull out my receipt and lets compare the two signatures and we had an almost exact match, other than one letter, but if she really did think the signatures didnt match, then why in the heck did she even accept this form of payment to begin with. She continued to talk negatively to us and she would just not let it go, she seemed as though she needed to win, regardless of how it made us (the customers) feel, so I guess in her mind she won. My only recourse and right is to give her this honest review and hope that it will help others from having to experience her lack of happiness. I would never again give this company one cent of our hard earned money and I hope anyone and everyone really takes the time to read this review, so that you can decide for yourself if this is the type of business that you support with your hard earned money, theres lots of places to enjoy a great cup coffee, minus the lip service!!! Thank You, Scott & Alice

I was also at the Pirate Coffee Company in Depot Bay Oregon when my husband was treated rudely by the clerk described in Scott G.s review. As I browsed the gifts available I listened as my husband very politely pointed out that the clerk failed to view his i.d. as his debit card instructed. This must have really offended said clerk and that same offensive attitude shines through in the owners reply online. What ever happened to the customer is always right? Why did said clerk go out of her way to insult Scott and say he needed to work on his signature because it didnt match?? Wouldnt common sense lead one to show a bit of compassion or empathy when a couple is explaining the magnitude of victimization they recently encountered as victims of identity theft? Instead you belittled us during the transaction and now, publicly belittle us again for recalling the events that lead us to take time to tell our story...and your "investigation" or "recollection" indicates you were not tuned in to your customers at all, but just show your determination to be right, consequences be damned. How insulting and rude to call us liars when his write up described what occurred from the moment we walked in the door. I will do my best to stir people away from your shop whenever possible seeing how vindictive and uncaring you were that day, as well as your despicable response to our online review. You and your company have left a terrible taste in my mouth and shame on you for denying what went down that day!!! Unbelievable.

My wife and I stayed for the weekend in Depoe for our anniversary. The next morning we wanted to get a good cup of coffee. We stopped In here what we discovered is poor customer service old coffee and 2 day old pastries. What really upset us was how rude the lady was behind the counter. No smile, made us wait while two locals got in front of us and got there coffee, then after finally getting mine my wife had to wait for another local to get there coffee. She was very snappy, and didnt look at us once. Not even a thank you. Maybe we just caught this lady on a bad day, maybe this place is all the reviews say, but after the way we were treated, we will never step foot in this place again.

Spent a week in Oregon, and as a coffee snob I read lots of reviews online trying to find great coffee. Spent the day in Portland and tried Barista and Stomphouse based on the great reviews. I stopped by Pirate Coffee one day purely out of convenience. The coffee was amazing, better than anything I had in Portland. The ambiance wasnt anything special, I didnt try the food, but if you want great tasting, freshly roasted coffee, Id highly recommend it. I ended up stopping there three days in a row. They had a different brew each day, and they were all great.

I always test coffee with an Americano. The sip was very good but it was a bit strong with a subtle yet sharp aftertaste. But I really like that they roast their own coffee with dual The San Franciscan roasters. Lots of local goods for sale in the shop. Not a lot of tables inside but they have a beautiful new custom deck that was just put in. Very friendly and prompt service. Their pastry options look great and I saw some gluten-free options as well. My coffee tastes are not yours so give it a try. After all, it was voted best coffee!

My son and I visited on a quiet mid morning during a weekday. The service was very friendly and we enjoyed our coffee and hot chocolate. We were the only customers there, but even then had a friendly home town feel. It was good to see the deck being built as it would help to have more seating with the option to breathe fresh coastal Oregon air. The only minor improvement would be to provide internet for guests. Not a major concern during a vacation coffee, but needed internet access for planning our day.

Definitely overpriced coffee. Not sure whats all the hoopla about this place. The coffee was okay but not earth shattering. The service was slow. The space is crowded with junk. The owner will be better off removing the shelves cluttering up the space, replace existing tables with small ones as well add more small tables and provide adequate space between tables.

Great place to stop for a cup of coffee and use the restroom. Ive never really understood the whole pirate theme thing but its their thing. Nice kid working the espresso bar, clean unisex restroom. Lots of really tasty looking treats but I didnt have any. Im sure they are great though, I can tell by the look of it. Coffee is good, not bs sour hipster coffee.
