I was there today and ordered the Sesame Honey Trio. It came with egg drop soup, and I ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer. The egg drop soup was fairly typical; I dont think Ive ever had any that knocked my socks off, so no big disappointment there. The spring rolls were just OK. Not the delicate thin wrap Im used to, and so filled with long strings of tasteless cabbage that it was difficult to eat. But I did eat them both because I was hungry. My entrée finally arrived (the young man waiting on me informed me it would take another 10 minutes because they had to fry it). There was a mound of tempura battered chicken, scallops, and I think shrimp, but I never tasted one. The chicken was fairly crispy, but the tempura coating on the scallops was extremely soggy, and they had an almost fluid texture that made them feel not quite done - kind of like egg white that isnt set. Im not even sure they were real scallops. Even so, I could have eaten it, or at least the chicken. But the worst part was the sauce. It had a sharp, unpleasant vinegar tang to it, and there had to be about a cup and a half of it on my plate. I dont think Ive ever seen so much sauce on a Chinese dish, or actually on any dish. I ate maybe 3 pieces of chicken and a bite of scallop, and maybe 2 or 3 bites of rice, but that was fairly uninspired also. I pushed the plate away with about 95% of the food on it. The waiter asked if I was done and it was OK. I said no, it was terrible. He took it away and brought me the check. Now I didnt expect him to comp me the whole thing, but I did expect a couple of bucks off since I couldnt eat it. When I made this sentiment clear to him, he responded "you ate it." Now maybe I would have given this place another shot since so many customers have sung its praises, but his attitude totally put me off. If you cant treat your customers right, then you dont deserve them. Not only will I never eat there, but I will let everyone I work with (and I work in a very large 2 building complex in Dublin) know the way I was treated and how the food tasted. I will end this review with the fortune cookie I received at the restaurant: "If you dont do it excellently, dont do it at all." Great advice for the folks at Sesame Sea Asian Bistro.

I went there today based on the rave reviews but went out thinking "What the What?!" The place was clean and had a nice atmosphere. The presentation of food was on point. Thats where it ended. We ordered Basil Chicken and Phad Thai. My basil chicken was not authentic basil (not even a flavor of basil) but edible. My dish was without flavor, which was masked by the salty and spicy. I did eat it. Was starving. The Phad Thai was the same. Looked great but no real flavor. In the end, the Phad Thai was returned and my friend WAS offered another meal but after tasting mine (all lacked true flavors), we realized, "whats the point?" She sent it back after only 2 bites of her Phad Thai and ordered egg rolls, which were good. However, she was billed for the meal anyway. She was then given serious grief about taking it off the bill and told "only this time." Huh? What the What?!. The host then gave me attitude even though I tipped just because I guess. So, no I wouldnt recommend. Food is just hot and brown but if you are looking for good Asian food or good service, this is not the place.

I have yet to dine in since living down the street makes carryout so convenient. The management/owner always makes you feel good when you walk in to pick up your order. Prior to Sesame Sea opening I would have to bypass several Chinese joints and drive all the way to Windchimes which I considered to be the best in Dublin for excellent quality Chinese food. Sesame Sea is actually better than Windchimes! I have never had just an average tasting meal there. Their Ma Po Tofu is delicious and Singapore Rice Noodles with shrimp can be quite addictive ( I prefer mine extra spicy)! Oh I forgot to mention their fine collection of wines and beers to compliment your meal.

We went to the plaza where this restaurant is to see if another restaurant was open (Shade, which replaced Mary Kelleys) but it was not so we decided, my daughter and I, to check it out. I got the special, the Ocean basket, and she chose the vegetable lo mein. We absolutely LOVED the food, one of the best Asian meals I have ever had. We were the only ones in the restaurant (it was around 4pm), which I hope will change in the near future. Go check this place out!

Hated the food as well as customer service. We usually go to TyGinger, PFChangs, Windchime and several other Chinese restaurants in town. Ordered a fried rice and pad thai and we have never tasted something like this before. Usually kids enjoy Chinese food but this time they wanted to throw up. Very bad experience and will not recommended to anyone. I think any beginnet chef can cook better food than what wad given to us.

Sesame Sea Asian Bistro has good food. The service is great as well. Its set up more for carryout but the staff is very attentive to you if you dine in. Its not the best Chinese food but its good nonetheless. Some of the dishes that typically are served spicy at other places do not come out spicy. So, if you like spice, make sure you tell the server you want it spicy.

Got takeout from here on the recommendation of a co-worker, and it didnt disappoint - the egg roll was crispy and had a good mix of textures, the wonton soup was flavorful, and the house lo mein was a huge portion and a great mix of the different meats. While I didnt dine in, the restaurant itself is also modern and comfortable feeling. Definitely recommended.

I used to work close to this location and was able to enjoy their food all the time. Unfortunately now I work further away and dont get there nearly as often as I would like! However if youve never tried this you have got to their crab rangoon is the best Ive ever had.! This restaurant is probably one of my favorite Asian restaurants in all of Columbus!

Place is good clean place to dine in and tasty Asian food and good portions however taking away 1 star because they served stale food to me my only fault is I went in at 9.45 pm and was their last customer. So a word of suggestion dine in at decent hours like at least by 8.30pm not later thank that to avoid stale food treatment

Great service, and even better food. Its like 1 dollar more than Windchimes but the quality is more than worth an extra buck. If you are in a hurry they will get you some take out too! I go whenever I can, If you need a recommendation any of the chicken or beef dishes are superb. 5/5

Have been here a handful of times and always impressed. Very attentive servers, good sized portions and delicious food. Be sure to pay attention to the menu as the items marked as spicy will definitely pack a punch. Overall though, Sesame Sea is a great Chinese spot!
