Went at the height of coffee hour so there was a very long line. They do have an express window which Im sure is helpful if you only want an easy drink like a drip coffee or iced coffee. It was my first time there and I wanted to see what they had to offer inside so I waited on line. The coffee was delicious and I got a pound to go, also delicious.

Luv this local joint! The staff is ah-maz, they always have a smile, cheerful and friendly. Delicious hand crafted beverages, hats off to the barista. Just get there early or use the express coffee only line. Or you can wait online and check out all the niffty kids art work...which I adore :^)

Recommended by a friend from Lavallette, Lava Java had friendly service before 7am and the best pork roll egg and cheese -ooey gooey goodness on a fresh Kaiser roll. The coffee was great, and the surf house theme really made it a one of a kind coffee shop!

Well known for their coffee but Id travel anywhere just for their baked goods, especially their crumb cake. The staff take very good care of all of your needs and could not be more contentive. Live entertainment in summer on Thursday nights.
