First off the food is fantastic. I have no complaints there whatsoever. On to the bigger issue of the terrible terrible service. My wife and I went out for our anniversary and waited over 40 minutes for soup, salad, and bread. We had to ask a number of times how much longer the wait was to which we were given a time of "Oh about 5 more minutes" 15 minute later I asked for bread and a valid reason why a damn salad had to take 40 minutes. The waitress we had (she was actually doing quite well all things considered and dont blame her for anything related to piss poor management of the kitchen) sent over the manager who seemed confused at the idea of what I was asking replied with "Uh......let me think about that and see what I can get going for you" Because a manager of a restaurant now has to ponder the idea of getting food to a hungry customer. 15 minutes later a waiter arrives with a tray full of, wait for it, crackers. Our food came out 5 minutes after that. We should have left the damn place sooner but we were enjoying a night out and didnt want to ruin it further. Note: Apparently on the way out the manager asked if the crackers made it over in time to my wife. I missed this because I think I would have lost it at that point. My money is going down the road to Prasinos going forward.

The overall visit was pretty good. My first visit, and meal, in the St. Louis area was pretty good. I was part of a corporate group and paid for nothing. I did notice the prices ranged from fairly low to fairly high. I had the Pork Plate and it was okay. It was not bad at all..... it was pork. The rice that came with it was more taste amazing than the pork. I had appetizers that were a large portion of many different selections. The appetizers were AMAZING and I would have been happy to end the meal there. I had a local beer and it was okay, but switched to mixed drinks. The service was very good other than the fact they were out of ingredients for two meals and alternate selections had to be made. Mary was our waitress and she was excellent. The meal was good, the appetizers were great, and the service was excellent.

Ate at Quintessential last night for my 21st Birthday! Katie, our waitress was so helpful! She had very good recommendations on drinks and food, she really knew her stuff! I had the wet burrito. It is good if you are craving something spicy. My boyfriend had a burger and it was delicious. All of the martinis were 4 bucks so we tried them and WOW they were good! The margaritas were delicious, too! It wasnt busy and the live music was great! Unlike the other review, this restaurant does offer a birthday dessert... you have a choice of cheesecake, crème brûlée, or a martini. We chose the crème brûlée and it was the best Ive ever had in my whole life. (especially the strawberry champagne flavored one). Thanks quintessential!!!!

I enjoy reading the critical reviews because for once I feel like I made out a huge winner at these kinds of places. After finding the rooftop hard to navigate on a Saturday night in early August, 2009, I went back downstairs where in my solid drunken state I met a very attractive blonde girl at the bar. Struck up conversation with her, sat back in a booth section, and proceeded to enjoy an entire Grey Goose bottle service tray with red bulls for nothing. They were just sitting there unattended, and apparently I was that kind of drunk. So drinks were on me, the music played on, and eventually I made it back to my hotel with Ms. Blondie where banging did occur.

Club Has hardly any seating you have to pay an arm and leg basically for what little comfortable seating they do have scene its bottle services only, music is good but cant hear bartender to order drinks most are rude and one was very hateful, The door people are also rude and hateful due to not enough seating I sat down on deck in corner out of the way for just a couple minutes to rest my aching feet when the back door person on deck ask me to stand up I asked him were I could set then because my feet hurt he then said "Not my problem" Just a horrible experience

My Husband, Family and Friends had a surprise 50th Birthday Party for me on Jan 2nd and it was perfect the Staff-Steve, Matt and Cassie could not have been more accomodating, friendly and professional. The space was perfect and the food was wonderful. I have talked to all 51 quests and they had a perfect time. My husband and friends said they could not have been easier to work with. I have loved this place since it opened and I am a bigger fan since the party. This is nice change for old town St. Charles. Linda Files

We were in St Charles right before Christmas because Main Street is beautiful this time of year. We had not tried Quintessential yet and we wanted to. It was amazing!!!! We both agree that this was the best meal we had in a very long time. The service was good. We did enjoy the live music verymuch . It was one man with his guitar. He was incredible. I wish we would have gotten his name. Next time we are in St Charles there is no question we will eat here.

Was in the mood for a pasta but not a $16 pasta. Ordered Chicken Club with House Cut French Fries instead ($9). Fantastic presentation. Delicious food. The chicken club had bacon, avocado, monterey cheese, and lettuce & tomato. Bacon was top notch. Avocado was seasoned nicely. The bread was like a thick cut sourdough, toasted, delicious. The house cut fries were gorgeous and they were not overseasoned, which is sadly all too often the case. Overall, simply excellent.

We have always enjoyed the food and dont recall any issues with service. We have reservations for tonight. We did have an experience a few years ago and have had others tell us of the same thing happening on top. They order a bottle of wine, sometimes suggested, confirm the price and when the bill comes the bottle is say $170 or $150, etc. instead of $70 or $50. We thought it was our misunderstanding until weve heard others having the same experience.

Half the staff is really good, its kinda one of those bars where you gotta really know when to go because its really inconsistent. What I do like is that a few of the bar tenders are second to none but half the time it feels like Im in corporate business meeting. Overall Wednesday nights are the best. Its kinda a shame this is the best bar in st.Louis because I live in Nashville and it would never last anywhere but St.Louis!!!

My husband went here for a retirement party and did not like the prices and the rooftop was too crowded to get to the people you wanted to talk to. Plus my middle son some time ago was attacked by the bouncers 10 ft from the back door. My oldest son was in front of him and saw the whole thing, When the cops got there the bouners said that He attacked them!!!!! I agree that they are glorified janitors!
