I have patronized this business quite a bit this past semester. The food is ok and service is a little better than ok. I was informed theyre instating a new policy that limits the amount of time their guests sit at a table without making another purchase to one hour. I will stay that this place REALLY helped me with those late nights working sessions while juggling a full-time job, four classes, and starting a business - - yes, I have the internet at my condo but honestly, if I would have stayed home, I would not have gotten nearly as much work done. I could understand if I was there during peak hours but whenever I go, its pretty slow with plenty of open tables...Its unfortunate that a place that is chose its location near a college does not welcome the traffic that a university all but guarantees. I will gladly spend my money elsewhere. Now that Ive gotten that off my chest, I will critique the food. =) What drew me here was the smoked salmon blt. The salmon isnt really smoked as youd expect. It has very little to no smoked flavor and has to be cooked. Ive tried the turkey and lentil burgers, both of which are unique. I would recommend you have the lentil burger cooked a little harder so that its firm in the middle or itll get quite mushy on you. Ive tried a handful of other entrees, but theyre not worth mentioning. I really like 2 appetizers on the menu, the calamari and the spinach dip. Heads up: I would re-name the spinach dip to cheddar cheese and artichoke heart dip. =) There isnt an entree that will make me miss the place...the above appetizers are what did it for me. I wont be back because if you stand for nothing, youll fall for anything. The way management approached me left a lot more to be desired...no appreciation for my patronage over the prior months. It was pretty much "youre not welcome here." No worries...there are PLENTY of places where my business is appreciated. I hope this review helps if you decide to check them out.

I arrived with six friends, intending on making this place a monthly place to meet and eat. Our Hostess seemed comatose. The Waiter, Jose, acted like setting up a table for 7 was an interruption of his evening. There were two other tables with maybe a total of six people at 6:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. We were told, almost dictated to, how we could order. Jose would only take drink orders first. Even though half of us were ready to order. NO he said, Im taking drink orders first! When one of our party asked if there were garlic in a dish, he had no answer and paused as if that was good enough. As the pause drew longer, he finally said rather non-complacently, " I could check" ... Yeah well do that. One person in our party ordered a drink but by then we were all ready to leave. When Jose returned for our mass order, one person said "we dont know if were going to stay" With no inquiry of why? No effort to entice us to stay, silently Jose walked away. That cinched it. We got up, the one person who ordered a pop went to pay and Jose took almost 10 minutes producing the bill. Nice business practice. I dont accept that this is okay since the Cafe is on WSU Campus and students work there. Thats bull. The owners will fail if they continue to employ with no willingness to make customers welcome or enjoy their experience. We went, instead to the Traffic Jam, where we were greeted with smiles and "Welcome" "How are you?" Our waitress got great tips that night. If I could rate this place .1 star it would be too much. I dont care how fabulous your food is. If your waitstaff chase away business, you lose.

The Ahi tuna steak dish is wonderful! I think came with garlic mashed potatoes, vegetable of the day (cauliflower & green beans on my visit) and a soy gravy. The tuna was very fresh and marinated in honey and soy but it didnt taste too sweet, in fact it was barely sweet at all. The soy gravy was splendid and just begs for some bread to really clean the plate with at the end and my server obliged with some excellent toasted and buttered and what I think was French bread. Our server was very nice too and she suggested the tuna after I narrowed it down to three dishes. Im just visiting but Im starring this place on my map.

Im not going to give it any rating cause I felt unwelcome when I first arrived there with my party.Jose our server was unfriendly. He was telling us where we had to sit.He had an attitude like he was ordering us to sit where he said and thats it no ifs or buts about it.I didnt get any "Hi or Hello" greetings like in other restaurants.Very unprofessional.Poor service. We ended up walking out and going to Traffic Jam down a few streets where the service and atmosphere was more calm, friendly and welcomed. At least you could do is smile.Sad that you have to rate it to post on here. Some are worth no rating.

The staff was friendly, the food came fast, fresh & hot! The music could be better. The place was spotless as far a cleansiness. I think the bar tender has o.c.d. Great place to hang out, have first dates, stuff your face and all that. Id recommend this place to anyone with a stomach. I had the southwest egg roll and the black bean quesidilla mmm yum. I started doing my happy dance upon its arrival. Those pineapples and spinach were a nice touch. Youd think they never wanted me to leave. Ill be back and Ill bring other mouths with me.

Superb! The special was a pork chop with cherry ancho bbq sauce. I came in starved and Im leaving completely satisfied. My wife had the tuna melt and my daughter had the tortellini with artichoke and mushroom. The Wife was more than pleased, and my daughter wanted to kiss the chef. it was reasonably priced, locally sourced, and gourmet food all around perfect service. I find it difficult imagining anyone not looking forward to coming back.

My favorite bar in Midtown. The ambiance is casual and chill, with rotating art from local artists adorning the walls. The service is always nice and friendly, and the food is good (they try very hard to sell the lentil burger, and while it is good it really isnt that special). The bar is not too dark and not too loud, so it is good for groups and conversations. Walking distance away from lots of local attractions.

Cass Cafe is a cool place one can go for a drink, great food and local art. I love that they support local artists and there have been some great pieces to come through there. My favorite dish is the lentil burger w/ a side of garlic mayo. The food is delicious, but sometimes the service leaves something to be desired. Overall, though, I love this place, recommend it and I go back time and time again.

Lentil burger is good, service is extremely slow, often awkward. I come here a lot and I always feel like Im waiting so long for the most basic service. Currently writing this review after sitting here for 45 minutes with an empty glass. Ive made eye contact with several servers who have completely ignored me. Other customers have offered to help me before they have.
