The FRESHEST and TASTIEST Lobsters ever!!! I would not have lobsters at chinatown restaurants anymore because Ive now been spoiled by Roy Moore with the BESTEST lobster ever! When its this good and fresh, theres no need to cook it up in any fancy sauce. Its just perfect naturally. We each had a 2lb lobster for $20 each and it was worth every bite. The lobster eggs there were such a delicacy and it literally took us an hour to eat the whole thing up at their outdoor deck. Every part of the lobster is soooo good. It was such a unique experience and the staff was SO nice and friendly. We also had their clam chowder, which was heavenly and the best clam chowder we ever had and also stuffed clams, for $1 each. It was hard to believe that we were having all the best of the best seafood (our favorite food ever) for such incredibly awesome prices and with the nicest staff. (Usually, for cheap food in chinatown, youd get to deal with lousy staff, but not at Roy Moore!) We would most definitely drive up 260 miles to visit there again.

You go to Roy Moore Lobster Co for the great seafood, great prices and great service. You will not be seated in luxury seating, you can go sit yourself down at a picnic table out back overlooking Rockport Harbor. This place has been around since 1918 and still has that old time fish-shack charm that screams New England. You must try the chowder, it is delicious. The lobsters are alive in their tanks, straight from the boat, ripe for the picking. Ken (the very friendly and helpful owner) is there ready to pack some live lobsters (or other seafood) for you to go or cook it up right there for you while you wait. It is a big place for tourists and rightfully so for the reasons stated above, but if you are a local, dont shy away, enjoy what there is to offer in your own backyard.

John and James were the staff that greeted us on the rainy fall day we arrived. These guys were super friendly and helped recommend a few items from their small menu. While this is a no frills seafood joint it was stellar. The lobster tank was clean and filled with fresh lobster. The prices are also exceptionally reasonable. Outdoor seating only. Fish Cakes - If you like crab cakes you will most likely like these Stuffed Clams - Its like clam stuffing in a shell. Who doesnt like stuffing?! Fresh Boiled (and cracked) Lobster - They give you the lobster already cracked after they boil it fresh. Super tasty and very easy to eat. I didnt even need a bib.

Normally I would feel out of place at a seafood restaurant, as someone who doesnt eat seafood, but Roy Moore had a nice family feel to it and offered a few non-seafood items which were enough to keep me happy. Just about everyone at my table opted for the 2.5 pound lobsters which are one of the best deals on lobsters to be found, and I ordered the chicken finger plate which was the kind of comfort food I was hoping for. The restaurant offered great views to the ocean and was not too formal, so I would recommend this to just about anyone looking to get some fresh seafood, any time of day.

Delicious!! My boyfriend and I went here on a surprisingly busy Monday afternoon and it was packed, we could barely find a place to sit and eat our meal (wish they could fit more seating). The lobster was fresh and very yummy. HIGHLY recommend the clam chowdahh. Stuffed clams were yummy, but they microwaved them (which isnt horrible, but would prefer them to be fresh out of the oven). The staff was very friendly and made sure as we were leaving that we enjoyed our meals. I will absolutely be coming here again!

This review is a year past but I remembered it so much that I had to write it. Brian (hope I remembered that correctly) was awesome...we flew from texas for a conference in Boston and decided to make a drive to Roys .. best decision we made..brian stayed a little since he knew our long trek and was very accommodating.. I will upload some pics shortly. In a nutshell great service and the lobster was unbelievable cant want to fly up again...try this place if ur in the region its worth the trip

We selected two live lobsters (from the tank which was filled with water circulating directly from the sea behind the shack ),and they were tossed into the steamer and packed for us right before our eyes.Tearing through them made a little mess in the rental car on our way to the restaurant in Maine, just up the road. Made a super appetizer.Ask about the giant "fishing bobbers" on the walls. Unique experience for Upper-Midwesterners.

Arrived Memorial Day morning around 9:30 am after a disappointing previous day of dining in Gloucester ( my unlucky choice of venues ). Came across Moores as I was enjoying this picturesque dock and was instantly greeted by the gang. Asked what time the chowder would be ready and was invited back to the deck where I enjoyed the best bowl of chowder and the freshest, tastiest lobster roll I have ever had! Best Breakfast Ever!

Been going there for years. Was there today and was very disappointed. Staff was polite as usual, but the lobsters we bought were cooked to heck and back. 3 lobsters for $40 without and sides and you figure theyd be cooked properly. I do admit they usually are, but this time they werent and whomever cracked them had no idea how to do it. Maybe new summer staff is still learning. It was a beautiful day though.

Amazing and super affordable! I loved that as my family and I were eating they were hauling new lobsters in through their back patio. The staff has great rapport with each other and that contributes to a wonderfully relaxed vibe. We got 3 lobsters (for $40 which is an unbeatable price!), 2 chowders, a lobster roll, and a dozen oysters. Amazing!!

Truly "lobster in the rough"! Eat outside on a crate and watch the tides come in/out. Or order "to go." Seafood as fresh as can be and quite good! Local owner/cook friendly and helpful. Gets VERY busy towards dinner time; people often wait in lines outside for pick ups, especially on weekends. Closes quite early, so get there quick!!

The food there is great. We ordered a large male lobster, phenomenal. The staff was even better. The owner was very friendly he taught me a bunch of things about the sea food industry. The only tiny problem there is that there is no wifi, but that doesnt really matter when you are having a great time with your family.
