Weve come to this place a few times a year, but I think its going to be awhile until were back. The quality and service have gone downhill. As we were walking in, four staff members were walking out to have a smoke, and they did it right next to the front door. We waited at the hostess stand to be sat (like a sign told us) and a server behind a counter told us to sit anywhere. Our server (Catherine C.) was friendly enough and seemed efficient, but then she announced that she needed a cigarette. Im sorry - you dont go out for a smoke when you have tables. Its bad service. When she came back, she just popped a mint - I didnt even see her go to the ladies room to wash her hands. Much of the staff were sitting around at a long booth, well in view of the whole dining room. This appears to be a management issue. Perhaps the general manager was off today and an assistant manager was in charge, who obviously doesnt care if his staff does their jobs. In a restaurant, theres always something to do, especially because the place is never very clean. The things on the table, like the dessert menus, are filthy. They just got new menus, to replace the old dirty ones. Unfortunately, theyre loaded with advertisements. I expect this on a website or app, not a menu. The food today was mediocre at best. The potato pancakes must have been a few days old - they had the consistency of corrugated cardboard. I hope management will read this and take appropriate care.

Horribly overpriced and bland food. A sandwich, side of soup and fries, and a drink is almost $30! All I could taste in my reuben was the (stale) corned beef. The fries were stale, obviously microwaved, and I couldnt stand more than the first bite. The little side of chicken noodle soup (well, some noodles in chicken broth) was seven bucks! (And if you wonder why I ordered it if it was that expensive, they dont have prices on their menu, and they dont tell you how much things are until its ready and they want you to pay -- what an awful way to run a business). They must have a hundred seats in the restaurant part but there is never anybody in there. I can see why theyre always empty. Go a mile down the road to Edmarts deli or a couple miles up the road to Lennys Deli for the same things at much better quality and half the price!

Went first day of Hanukkah. Got there and ordered a matzo ball soup, hot roast beef, hot corned beef, oriental chicken salad and white fish salad. First, the soup was cold and tasted like water. The hot roast beef/corned beef was cold, bread was cold and nothing but cold meat was on it. Asked to heat it up and the oven was off (got there 45 minutes before closing. Which they were suppose to be open until 8, but changed it to 6). Tried to order a bagel and the toaster was off. Couldnt get it. After we received the oroental salad we were notified that the dressing that was suppose to be on it was out. Then the waitress (nice waitress) asked the owner if she could take a few soups off and she was told not to. Paid $100 for the worst dinner ever. Would never recommend it and wont ever be returning. Great first night of Hanukkah.

The food is average and since moving to their new location the prices have gotten higher. Even with that being said, I dined in or ordered out from Suburban House from time to time because their matzoh ball soup is the best around, in my opinion. Sadly I will not be returning because upon balancing my bank account this evening it seems that a $5.00 tip was added to my carryout order without my knowledge. This action is disgraceful and while the actions of one employee should not effect the whole operation, my sub-par experiences combined with theft is enough to make me throw in the towel for good.

Nope. Was a regular here for years at the old location. While no one can beat the size of their 3-egg omelettes or the size of their matzoh ball, the quality has dropped. We ordered sausage and cheddar omelettes, and got omelettes with half-melted cheddar shreds with a side of sausage. WTF? The chicken noodle soup that used to accent the HUGE matzoh balls no longer has any flavor to it. It tastes like straight out of the can Sysco Chicken Soup. I miss the old ways. Ill likely still test it now and then to see if theyve gotten better, but its no longer S&H to me.

The ONLY reason it got one star is because I couldnt post without it. It deserves NO STARS.....waste of $13. The food was terrible & service could have been much better BUT I guess when you dont like the food, not a Jew & dont know the owner; your money doesnt matter. O, & treats their employees like they are worthless Black people dont come to this overprice tasteless establishment. Im so sorry Goldbergs, I should have bought that bagel. With establishments like this, I can see why the community looks a mess

Came in at about 11:45 AM on a Wednesday. Upon walking in, I wasnt acknowledged by anyone for about 5 minutes as I stood waiting to place an order (the older man and woman were standing there talking to each other). Then, I ordered a "classic Reuben." It was $15, which Id be willing to pay if it was good. Unfortunately, it wasnt. The bread was soaked in too much butter and the corner beef was hardly piled on and lacked flavor. Subpar experience overall.

My 3 dollar cup of tea just annoyed me to no end- 40 cents more than the delicious everything bagel. Cmon now thats just ridiculous. Your history and reputation here is grand indeed but your prices are outrageous, pretentious and not warranted truthfully. You are no NYC deli and THIS IS NOT NYC. Continue serving your exclusive menu to your "exclusive" clientelle and those drawn in by word of mouth- they can have you.

I had take out. It was pricey. Slaw was not fresh. Potatoes salad was sour. I should have returned with the bad food. SANDWICH WAS SO BAD. COLD CUT MEAT TASTED LIKE IT WAS BAD. I threw away $35. Save the trip. It is authentic looking. Pay people descent salary and train them correctly so you dont get bad reviews. And for pete sake ---clean the food display case daily of all the old food.

1/2 star, we used to visit this restaurant often before the fire, I dont know what has happened. The waffle had no taste The corned beef hash was dry, very dry, eggs were ok, but they were a little brown like they forgot to take them out the pan when they were done. And the server over looked me, so overall I was very disappointed and I will not be back again.

Average to below average food.. The matzah ball in the soup was bigger than a baseball. Have never seen that and it had no flavor. We had a waitress that was obviously overworked and stressed and it showed. She was not very friendly. Menu is too large, they should try and concentrate on fewer items and do well at that. Will not go back.

This place is definitely still open. Theyre known for their "Mish Mosh", "Chicken in a Pot"(which has 1/2a roasted chicken, kreplach, huge Matzo ball, and their massive portion of Uchicken noddle soup), The best "Chicken Matzo ball soup" or try something from our bay with a classic bowl of Maryland Crab Soup!
