I have eaten at a lot of Asian restaurants throughout the tri state area, fusion, hibachi, Chinese takeout, buffets, sushi etc. Asian food is by far one of my favorite kinds of foods. Since moving to Frederick from NJ (4 months ago) I have yet to eat sushi for fear of being disappointed or getting sick. I was referred to China Garden by an acquaintance. Was told it was the best in Frederick. Unfortunately that wasnt the case and for the first time, since I can remember, I had one of the most unpleasant experiences with Asian food. The menu lacked variety. None of the rolls had a description of what was in them, when i asked the server about the rolls, he didnt understand my question...so i made sure to order something basic. When the sushi arrived at our table I could tell right away it wasnt going to taste good by the smell. After one bite, that was it. For fear of getting sick, did not eat anymore. Even the chicken with broccoli i ordered was a disappointment. It was bland, every other bite was cold. The wonton soup that we ordered for our kids, gross. I left highly disappointed and still hungry. The place could definitely use some updating and perhaps a more inviting staff. Though I will say that the reason I am giving 2 stars versus 1 is because our girls were acting a little rowdy and our server came to the rescue with some free ice cream. Im not sure how the reviews on this place are even as good as they are. Perhaps the bar for good Asian food isnt set very high down here. Either way, I would not recommend this place to anyone for Chinese food and especially not for sushi. Save your money! And your appetite!

Just ordered food from there I thought me and the dude who took my order were on point I said I wanted lemon crispy shrimp not plain jumbo shrimp Lemon! Called probably the owner he didnt care I feel like last time they messed up my order which is why I havent ordered from them in a while now I got to eat these big ass breaded jumbo shrimp I dont want I probably giving my neighbor or something the chicken wings also look like they have hairs on them Im kind of getting upset as Imuch them eating right now because I ordered a four piece chicken wings I will say this those pickled cucumber things that they give you with the food Are great!!! Ill give them 6 !!Stars I just some Wendys because the shrimp was not what I asked for and the jumbo shrimp that I got was not good at least gave it a chance it was not good but what I did do is take some of those delicious sweet cucumbers and put it on a junior bacon cheeseburger in the contrast and its sweetness between the crispy lettuce and the delicious probably microwaved crispy bacon is nothing short of immaculate

For a Chinese family style meal I would say China Garden is still our fav in the Frederick area, the food is high quality with fresh ingrediants that really snap, and they also accomdate young children well. We always order from the Chefs menu, and this time I had the whole jumbo spicy shrimp and my husband ordered sea scallops in a black pepper sauce, both were excellent. But big mistake on ordering their seafood lettuce wrap, although we are certain that was fresh, it really tasted fishy, or at least too fishy for us. They took this back immediately, and we substituted Maine lobster, which is really meant as an entre and not light eating. That is a truly wonderful dish. I think service is so important, and at China Garden they care about your experience, which says much. If you are dining with children I would recommend calling ahead, and then dining at the early hour. They will make a table for you where your family will be well cared for.

I have been eating here for almost 30 years and Im sad to say the customer service myself and co-workers have received at China Garden as of recent is a whooping disappointment. We work in public service and we cannot leave for lunch during our 12 hr shifts so we have ordered from China Garden for years for lunch and dinner. In the past we have paid in a combination of credit cards and cash. Now all of a sudden they will not take multiple credit cards from us for an order. The have lost out on $100s from us. The man Mo I spoke with today said go and order from someone else. So thats what we will do from now on. There are plenty of places in Frederick that are more than happy to take our money in any form. I personally will never patronize this establishment ever again. I will tell every person about their horrible customer service.

Were visiting from Boston and went here on xmas day because it was open and the reviews were good. The food was pretty bad -- certainly worse than the Chinese food at mall and airport food courts. I like Americanized greasy Chinese food, and this was no good even for that. They were busy because of the holiday, and because of that service was very slow and they made a few mistakes with our order, but I dont hold that against them. I dont know if this is the best Chinese restaurant in Frederick, but I certainly hope not. The food was edible, the staff was polite, and the restaurant was open, and thats all I can say for the place.

Your tea has absolutely no flavor whatsoever! It tastes like water, but its like its just been dyed brown. That tea is nasty. But I like your dumplings, the insides make me feel good and warm inside. And even when I add sugar to the tea, IT JUST TASTES LIKE WATER AND SUGAR MIXED TOGETHER. My school is right next to china garden. So whenever were outside we always smell your good chinese food. And it tempts us to break out and get food from there. So please turn the smell down a notch with your amplifiers. I dont like it when you turn it up to 11 (lol Im being a dumbass, but everything I said about the smell and tea was true.)

This place is a classic if you are from Frederick. Literally the ONLY legit chinese restaurant to eat in the city! The sushi is extremely cheap and always tastes fresh. Also it is the only place in general that actually give you a good amount of tofu (big pieces) and a good amount of seaweed in their miso soup! You can tell when a restaurant will use cheap and tacky instant miso soup and when they will make it from scratch after being here. I have been living in frederick for 21 years and they are all extremely nice to customers whether they are newcomers or regulars. A diamond in the rough of bad chinese restaurants!!

Ordered orange chicken which was great and a order of fried cheese wontons but they misheard and gave me soup instead of just switching it they told me I was wrong I ordered soup ... (I never knew of this soup) as they rushes me off the phone. And when I get there he hands me the bag and snatched it back and says I owe him more money instead of telling me it was a price change. I just called and talked to them y wasnt it mentioned over the phone. I had to leave my job twice because of there mess up....... I wouldnt recommend this place to dine in .... its more like a regular spot for locals if your not they are rude
