Just had the WORST experience here. We got the wrong starters, which sucked because we were starving, then about 55 minutes after we had ordered our dinner I went I check on it. The server was rude and said it would be 5-10 minutes more. 15 minutes later we got it, missing items because "we were just in a hurry to get it to you." Uh.... Did you think we wouldnt notice the sides we were missing? Then we tasted the food. SO GROSS. We had both ordered medium rare and both of our dishes were so overcooked they tasted leathery. Thats hard to do with salmon. We told the server we wanted to talk to a manager - at this point wed been there over an hour. He came back about five minutes later and said the manager was TOO BUSY to talk to us. We said "well, were leaving" to which the young man replied, "thats fine." NOT ONCE did anyone offer an apology. We will never return and its a shame because weve been coming here for years, have celebrated birthdays and events here, but frankly that was just because we could bring in booze; the food isnt that good. So now weve lost more than an hour and are still starving and the manager doesnt have time for us. Great. Stellar.

The pomegranate mint lemonade was very interesting to say the least, Im not sure Ive ever had anything that tasted like it before and I did enjoy it, although I am a fan of mint as it has a very minty flavor. The chicken kabob rice and lentils were done really well, chicken was excellent, rice and lentils were good and filling, and I liked the garnish of grilled yellow squash, and zucchini, with cherry tomatoes, it completed the meal with a well rounded flavor. Also the hummus was really good for an appetizer if you are really hungry, Greek salad was really good, I especially liked all of the small cut vegetables and huge amounts of feta cheese! I would have to say this being a middle eastern restaurant, having different assortments of foods, is something different and a hidden gem in Louisville! Also the gravel outdoor seating under a shaded arbor would be fun if it wasnt cold and you wanted some fresh air out of the sun.

Ive loved the Grape Leaf for years and have always recommended it. But recently I went there and was disappointed. When we got there we were ignored as several of the wait staff passed us by along with others waiting to be seated. After about 10 minutes one of the employees asked us how many. I said "two" and was replied to with "just sit anywhere." After sitting ourselves we waited several minutes for menus and someone to even greet us. We got our menus and waited even longer for the waitress to come back and get our order. When she did come back she was very short and acted as if we were an inconvenience. While sitting there a couple of ants crawled across the window sill on the inside of the restaurant. We finally got our food and was never tended to for the rest of our meal. I would like to go back and give them another try but do not want to be disappointed again.

Service has improved lately, in my opinion. Combine that with great food and the result is a nice restaurant. I never hear much about this place, so I truly consider it a hidden gem. Check out the menu online... if you see anything you like, do not hesitate to visit. GOOD: Very large menu with a wide assortment of flavors. Friendly service. Guacamole appetizer is one of the best. Plenty of indoor seating and the graveled, outdoor seating area is shady under both ceiling fans and a vine-covered arbor. CAUTION: While service is friendly, I think it is sometimes slow. Not a big deal, though. NOTES: The large menu includes many dishes for both vegetarians and those who like meat... and, of course, for those who like Greek food. Breakfast dishes (less waffles) are served all day... a nice treat for those breakfast-for-dinner fans.

its too bad they have frozen food that served the next day! moussaka, rice, cous, fish, and items such as these are cooked, then frozen, then re heated for the food service the next day, the lemons that come in the water are very dirty and most of the time the silver ware is dirty.if you were walk in the back, you would see alot of health hazards and unsanitary practices. the lemonde is mostly uncovered, the balsamic dressing isnt properly covered at times and ive seen cooks in the back with dirty hands messing with the feta cheese.. this place is terrible.

This place is terrible. $14.25 for what amounts to not even one piece of grilled chicken breast. 6 tiny bite sized pieces of chicken for $14.25, its ridiculous. I dont know whats going on with this business, but the prices are so out of control, and the food is super small portions. Its just absolutely sad how bad of a value this place is. $14.25 for a tiny piece of chicken, you can order 3 large pizzas for that price. Save your money and go elsewhere! DO NOT RECOMMEND. Lower your prices buddy and lets get some actual meat on the plates!

The Grape Leafs hummus is scrumptioulicious! Creamy, garlic-y and best shoveled into ones face with their zatar pita. The rest of their Mediterranean menu is also great and includes the basics: spanikopita, falafel, gyros, and moussaka. There are lots of vegetarian items to choose from. Each plate is huge and most entrees come with rice or a great greek salad. Not bad for around $10! Great friendly service, casual comfy digs and a nice outdoor patio when the weather is nice makes the Grape Leaf a 5 star experience!

As the old saying goes, it aint what it used to be. The quality of the food has declined in recent years. The wait staff are culled from who knows where but I had a waiter who lacked the basics in civility to say the least and was rude. I was disappointed and will not go back anytime soon. The owner (I assume) was smiling a lot but food was late in getting to me and the quality/texture tasted like Costco or Sams. Try the other Mediterranean restaurants in town first.

Good food, good atmosphere, good service. I took my daughter and stopped by The Grape Leaf Restaurant today after the Game between University of Louisville and North Carolina State ( 54/13 the score ). We had a good time, I encourage every one to eat at The Grape Leaf Restaurant in Louisville Kentucky, you will enjoy it so much, and do not worry about your pocket, you will get more for your money. Thank you everyone in The Grape Leaf Restaurant

Weve been coming here for awhile, over the years it went through a lot of changes. It went from an awesome restaurant to a horrible experience a couple years ago. Quality of food degraded and the service was horrible... Now its finally getting better. Our last visit was very pleasant. Quality of food got a lot better. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Their lamb is not the freshest, but the chicken is really good.

First its an Arab restaurant, it just Arabs & Greeks have a lot of common food. the foods, atmosphere & service was phenomenal! My only complaint was it was cold, because the windows leaked the cold from outside. Since its in what appears to be a renovated neighborhood it was understandable and Im not going to take any points off for it.
