Amazing place! In the last 18 months its become a staple on our top placed to go & we live in Illinois. The bill is always less than Id expect, very affordable menu without skimping on the qty or quality. Never once have I had to wait less than 10-15 minutes for a table on the weekend, and its worth a 90 minute wait. This place has amazing food and the popularity speaks for itself. Anyone writing a bad review is likely just a food snob who writes bad reviews just for the sake of writing bad reviews. Theres always an extreme exaggeration, leading you to believe theyre actually competition. Click on their names to read their other reviews, it never fails. Either its all negative, or its a made up name just for that one review. But I can assure you that you will not find better Mexican food within 20 miles in any direction.

We have eaten here many times before and today we went there for lunch. I ordered the carnitas. On the first bite i was already dismayed. The pork meat was obviously old stock and i can tell at once it was bad meat. I had another member of the family taste it to verify. We had the same opinion. I called the waiter who was difficult to find and complained about this and had my order changed. Disappointing. I ordered the chicken shrimp salad. The shrimp was not fresh also for i swelled later in ( this is what happens to me when seafood is not fresh!) What happened to this restaurants food quality? Very poor and not going back there again. I asked for the manager to express my concern but the cashier in front said he is busy at the back! Well you just lost a loyal customer!

If I could give this joke of a restaurant a -0 I would. I went there yesterday with my Lady. We ordered our order at 8p.m. When we arrived I watched everyone else get their orders. Here 8:30p.m. rolls around and we still didnt get our order. I talked to the manager and he said he was sorry but that there was nothing that he could do. The FDA should shut this disgusting ignorant staff restaurant down. The waiter brought our tortilla chips and salsa but no water. I asked the waiter for our water and I also asked him for more salsa. I waited about 10mins for both as well because he was too busy serving all his Latino friends.

If I could I would give 0 stars. Just left this place after finding a bug in my drink. I wasnt too buzzed to notice a bug floating in my margarita. Manager expected us to pay full price for the drink claiming they sell 100s of drinks per day. Im quite sure that if there was a bug in my blended drink then there were plenty others...heck they were flying all over the place. Never again will I eat or drink here...ruined my whole date!My only compensation was half off the drink...oh well there goes my waitress tip.

The staff is rude my guacamole was brown and spoil not fresh. Managers answer was its made in morning. She wouldnt take off my $50 ticket no big deal. I understand service and good food they have neither. There 42 oz margaritas are over priced. If you want good mexican food with great service and romantic ambiance go to taft and 81st next to nicks liquor store to Villa Del Sol. Omgosh they got it right. Leave this ghetto place alone. 42 oz down the road more affordable and so delicious Im hooked.

Best Margaritas hands down Ive been coming here since they first opened, this is the old Als Beef location that didnt last (great Chicago beefs even though Indiana didnt appreciate it) LA Carreta always has friendly staff the food is better than their up the street rival "Jalapeños" which I frequented for 12 years and 2 cases of minor food poisoning. Ever since LaCarreta opened I havent been back to the rival because THE DRINKS ARE STRONG and the food is always south of the border authentic.

No the best food at all, the waiter was rude stating that Im too young to be having a kid and didnt I have anything better to do who is he to judge a customer like that and be disrespectful. Only to making me feel very uncomfortable. Not going back again, that was a not so great first experience that I wouldnt be going back.

Food was absolutely terrible. Was not cooked fresh and was reheated beyond recognition. On more then one occasion, members of our party became sick after eating. Wait staff seemed clueless. Only positive was the choices of alcohol & bar. So many better & more authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. Avoid this one!

Wife and I had been there several times and really liked it. Last time we had lunch there and that night we both woke up sick. Figured it was the beef they used as we both had it. Called them and man on phone claimed we must have eaten bad food somewhere else, BS. Will never go back.

Margaritas & other cocktails are their strong point....FOOD IS NOT. Overpriced average tasting food....not much more I can say about this place. Same for Merriville Indiana store. Drive down the road to Jalapeños...better food, tasty cocktails, great service same price range.

Food is almost authentic, service not so much...ehh. If you can eat without utensils and wait for your tortillas to be served 10 minutes after they gave you your plate and you dont get thirsty because we didnt get offered water or a drink, then yes youd like this place.

The quality of the food is on par with other local Mexican restaurants, good value for the price, clean comfortable environment. The only complaint was that the nachos didnt come with plates making it hard to eat them without making a mess.

Great service- fast, friendly & attentive! Lots of vegetarian options (if thats your thing). I had shrimp enchiladas & they were delicious. The margarita was good & strong as well. Will definitely come back to try some other menu options.

I come here at least once a week with my Aunt and Uncle for Drinks. The Margaritas are the Best. We usually get the Texas Nachos or the La Carreta Sampler. If Im really hungry I get the shrimp tacos. Service is always great and friendly.

The taste of the food is very poor, very bland. They use a puree beef that is absolutely disgusting as is the cheese. The quantity of food is huge, and they provide many choices... But the food still does not taste good.

My meal left a lot to be desired. My medium steak was well done. The chicken was like particle board and the beans and rice were cold! I was just about done with my meal when we finally got a table visit....

This is my most favorite place.. The waiters/waitresses are freakin awesome..the food is great the margaritas are the best around.. Im so glad there are 2 locations now.. Highly reccomend for any occasion!!

Amazing !!! The 15 tv s sunday night football broadcast even in the restroom won me over . The Texas fajitas was delicious pleasantly surprised place is super clear strongly recommend to anyone .
