Simply put, we ordered Mongolian Lamb and we are pretty positive we got beef instead. The lamb is more expensive btw. Two waiters insisted that we were eating lamb. In all my life never once have I mistaken lamb for another meat. It has a pretty unique flavor after all. Realizing we had no way to challenge them, we just accepted it and tried to enjoy our meal. Staff is nice and professional. They were attentive at first but after asking for a few minutes we had to flag them down to give our order. Order took quite a while to come out. Everyone else seemed to get their food just fine. Even the people that walked in after us. Food tasted fine. Good quality for sure. Very potent. Made us feel heavy and bloated. Only finished less than half of our meals. Would never go back truthfully.

Ive been to Lao Sze Chuans locations in Chinatown and in uptown. I happened to be going to Skokie, so I ordered carryout. I almost always order the dry chilli chicken, but this time there was barely any spice. I was very disappointed, but I can imagine they have a lot of suburban diners who are ignorant to the amount of spice a lot of these dishes traditionally have. If I had known it would be served bland, I would have asked for it the normal way. Unfortunately, I have to give this low rating for what is otherwise a great restaurant because of ignorant suburbanites. But at the same time, this is a local chain, so I expect a level of consistency that this dish didnt match.

DO NOT EAT HERE! I came here with my wife whos been a vegetarian for almost 20 years. My wife ordered Kung Pao tofu and they brought out Kung Pao Chicken. Which we only discovered because I wanted to try one her tofu chunks. When this was brought to the attention of the waitress, she apologized and said that we would not be charged. I accepted the apology and 5 minutes later the manager comes by with a bill for my food. At this point, I was so disgusted that I didnt even dispute the fact that the waitress just told me we werent being charged. Anyway, the food was greasy mediocre at best. Save yourself the stomach ache and do not come here.

I was skeptical when Lazo Sze Chuan took over the Hana Asian Bistro space in Skokie so soon after opening one in Evanston. Yes, all of Tony Hus outposts have had good food, but I wasnt sure how having two of the same type so close in the northern suburbs would work. Lo and behold, this outpost is as good as the others. The Ma Po Tofu, Chili String Beans, and all the House Specialties are a welcome sight in Skokie. Add to that a bigger space, better service, and easier parking than the one in Evanston; this is now our go to place for Chinese food.

Waiting staff is very cordial and friendly. Huge portion sizes and great food. However, the menu is a bit confusing for first timers and there seem to be too many options at time. But that is based on personal preference, some might like the expansive menu and plethora of choices. The ambiance is unique, different colors and decor add to the experience. Good and plenty of parking, especially in this location

Great Chinese food, lunch special is an amazing deal, plus they have some of the best bubble tea in Chicago. They have a great menu, and even hotpot, so theres something for everyone taste wise and financially. They have other locations downtown and in Chinatown, and this definitely beats the downtown location but is comparable to the Chinatown one.

Finally the closest authentic Chinese restaurant near Glenview. Its very hard to eat good food near north suburbs. I just hope they are truely always be spicy as I saw Americans had lunch and return the foods for not spicy. Its like ordering pizza with no tomato sauce. Whats the point. Funny and sad in same time.

The restaurants service is the worst in the USA. Before we ate, the waitress asked for tips and I said I would pay after the dinner. However I was asked to go ro the cashier and they said the bill was wrong because they forced the 20% tip to the bill. Rude and humiliating. Will never go back again.

Me and my wife liked it, but the kids were not that impressed. You have to make sure make it clear how spicy you want your dishes because many of them are really spicy. Also make sure you dress up warm because the place can be chilly in the winter and they keep it really cold in the summer.

I think the Lao series is losing its charm from the old days. Now there are way better options out there, the Lao series have to fight for business. This place is OK. Friends told me they have Peking duck, I tried, it was OK. Maybe my standard is too high.

Service is bad, no attention to order, cant speak english. Ok, that is part of an exotic restaurant, but the hot and sour soup was pepper soup, not hot and sour. It was a mess. Our food was no where to be found and I am still waiting while I write this.

Whether you enjoy spice or not, you will enjoy this cuisine! Large portions, excellent for family - style sharing naturally. I love the garlic spinach, sauteed green beans, mapo tofu, pea shoots, and spicy sole filet just to name a few!

Mostly authentic, my wife tells me. (Shes from HuBei and Guangzhou) Super delicious. Just ask the waitress for her recommendation for something authentic, if you are a round eye. We have decided to come here once a month.

Delicious food, it is always consistent. I can go there any time of day for a delicious meal and the taste does not change. Some places are inconsistent depending on the cook but not here.

Authentic Szechuan-style chinese food located in a strip mall in Skokie. The prices are a little higher than most Chinese places around here, but the food is of superior quality.

Amazing chinese food on the North side, whats not to like? This is another branch of the world class Lao Sze Chuan, you cannot go wrong here for those who enjoy szechuan food.
