It is cold noodle specialty If the buckwheat directly to the dough, mechanical draws snap right away. So grunge noodles are really, really liked. I ordered a water noodle and mixed noodles The watercress soup is very tasty eats tastes in Korea Successful selection ㅎㅎㅎ There are some mixed noodles give a big score than the noodle water. I have two bowls eojjaeteun a long time to erase the taste ttuttak saw in Korea it feels heumeut

We went to Da Rae Jung late on a Thursday night for some tabletop Korean BBQ. While the location is not the most convenient (as in it is quite far from the loop), it was very close to several bus stops. It was somewhat busy, but we were welcomed in by the owner Mr and seated right away. Decor-wise, it is very plain and the furniture quite old. We were given water with no invite to order any special beverage. The menu choices were not as expansive as other KBBQ places I have been to, but there were several interesting options to choose from. We played it safe and ordered the bugolgi for 3 and an additional order of kimchi soup. Food came out right away, with 8 sides, a gas burner and round contraption for the grilling and the owner Mrs. with a kettle of broth and a bowl of raw meat. She cooked the meat, said some kind words to us in Korean (which we do not understand) and went on her merry way. The food was good, the service was great (I can see how it can be misconstrued for rudeness since it doesnt seem like the Mrs is well-versed in English, but you can tell her tone was kind and that she truly want you to enjoy the food) and the price was affordable.

Overall: Authentic yet tucked away, this place is easy to drive by without noticing. Youll be sorry you did, because its worth every slurp of noodles youll get. The good: Hole in the wall in a totally rad kind of way. This is where the locals come and the food shows. The seafood pancakes were perfectly fried and not overdone and contained generous chunks of fishy goodness. The cold noodles were interesting and well flavored, and the portion sizes are appropriate. My friends seafood soup still came out boiling...the real deal. The owners barely know english, and thats totally okay. Adds to the experience. They were friendly and nice. The not-so-good: Someone in the party is allergic to mushrooms, and the bulgolgi she ordered didnt say it contained mushrooms. Alas...Also, I got the cold noodles and they were the last time come out by a long delay. Water was infrequently served. A little expensive for what it is... Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Food: 9/10

Having read great reviews, our family went there last nite. We were seated and given menus. The wife/waitress served other tables while we waited and waited. A group came in, seated, ordered and received their food while we still waited. She came to our table, spoke in Korean and we tried to explain we wanted to order. I am Korean but do not speak the language so communication was difficult. She abruptly walked away and we sat for about 5 min. and then got up and walked out. I guess if you dont speak Korean, you dont get food?? !!! Never again !!!

Great service and amazing food. They have a very different take on beef bulgoglgi that requires cooking in a broth. That near was so juicy and sweet, I could have eaten just that and rice for Weeks. the store is also known for nang myun which is a cold noodle dish. The noodles are made in store and are extremely fresh, though they might be a little too spicy for some people. The old man that wears suspenders who runs the store doesnt know much English but hes an absolute delight and was very helpful in choosing food for us when we didnt know what to order.

Good for a good price! We got the galbi bimbambap and the japchae! I loved the banchan at the beginning (not the typical ones I normally get) especially the seaweed soup and the chilled noodles. I loved the japchae here and the galbi bimbambap was pretty good as well after we added the red pepper sauce though I didnt find it to be super extraordinary! The rice comes out nice and crispy from the stone pot :)

A friend recommended this place, so I really wanted to like it, but thought it was average. The seafood pancake was outstanding here, and there were pretty good banchan options, but the bulgogi and japchae were just average. The staff here were really courteous and nice, which I always love. If you want to do bbq at your table, its kind of spendy, which is why we opted to have it cooked in the kitchen.

This is absolutely my favorite place to go for Korean food! Its a tiny family-run restaurant, they take great pride in their cooking, and it shows! The food is delicious. I brought my folks here when they came into town, and they were so kind to my mom who was a first-time Korean food eater. Shes now an addict, and it was all really because the women who runs it gave her such great recommendations.

The Koreatown in Chicago is nothing impressive but Da Rae Jung never disappoints. Yes, the place is a hole in the wall but this place is great. I see a lot of complaints about service but if you go into a Korean Restaurant expecting good service, nine times out of ten, you wont get it. So, let that go if youre looking for a place with great authentic Korean food. Their cold noodles are top notch!

Well, I really didnt like the food at all. This was the only time I ate Korean food, so I cant say if it was the restaurants food or that Korean food is not for me. The table service was fine, but I had difficulty communicating with the staff because of language barrier. Other than that the staff really tried to provide good service at their end.

This place has the best korea hotpot. The noodles here are excellent. Mos importantly, the owners are the cutest couple in the world! They are very polite and sweet that made me feel like eating at home. Excellent food with outstanding service. I go there at least twice a month even though I have to drive 10 miles from downtown to get there.

We tried the spicy soy chicken with rice cake, carrot, noodles! It was delicious loved the sauce. We also ordered the fried chicken which was fried very well loved the fried outside part of the chicken. The small banchans were pretty good that had various types. Would love to come later at night with some friends to eat chicken and beer!

The best, authentic cold-noodle soup! And the seafood pancake was great too. The bibimbap was just so-so. Im so bummed that I dont live in this neighborhood anymore because I cant eat here whenever I want to. No really, I wish I could just take these folks with me to my current location so I could have this shop near me all the time.
