When they first opened, we tried it. The food was under cooked and the staff was VERY rude. We thought we would try it again being as its the only buffet in Alton that isnt Chinese. Again, food was cold and the staff was again rude. We thought by 4mo of being open they would have ironed out some flaws but no. Ate there one last time and this time my husband and I only ended up eating a salad. Brussel sprouts were cold, chicken was undercooked and upon talking to a manager they did not want to rectify the situation at all. The old location was ALOT better.

Pros: -Decent variety -Desserts are better than youll find on most buffets Cons: -Very Low Quality (fatty) meats -Unhygenic waitstaff. -For generations, your DNA will bear the scars of inherited nightmares should you foolishly venture into the restrooms. -Expensive. Youll have to eat a lot to make it worth while, at which point its definitely not worth your while. -Low mashed potato supply.

Horrible. Managers let cooks call their guests "fat" and call their son with Aspergers syndrome "retarded" without repercussion. Shelley, the front end manager, would not take care of the problem properly, and the cook is still behind The counter able to be rude to more guests. Would NEVER recommend this establishment to anyone with a conscience. Horrible service.

Lady we had for server never came to our table to even ask of we wanted refills on our drinks or even take used plates from table this was at the Golden corral in Springfield il,shes a little Mexican lady,her another sever was standing around talking about how they wished certain customers did not come in there because they did not like waiting on them

Decent food and a smaller scale dining area keeps this from being too crowded. But I would watch how much you are charged. They doubled charged me for one of my kids then tried to act like they could not give me my money back. Party of 4 charged for 5. After several conversations i finally received my refund for being over charged.

The food was fresh you could tell it wasnt sitting out all day. I got steak twice and it was so good I didnt even need steak sauce.. 4 or 5 different kinds of shrimp.. and my son just died with the dessert station chocolate waterfall.. cotton candy.. the only thing is it was a bit expensive.. Overall good well be back.

Usually Golden Corrals food is really good the potatoes were nasty the meat was undercooked actually this is the worst experience Ive ever had.. get it together guys, usually very good but since youve moved the quality of the food is not like it used to be.. I spent way too much money to eat a salad..

Going downhill fast. I watched the cashier let two different people in with out paying. Dinnerware looks 20 years old. Ice cream machine was out and looked like it hasnt been cleaned for two weeks. A few other complaints but whats the point. 10.18.2016 7:30pm

Would give no stars, I had honey chicken, they had scorched it but still served it to customers, the quality of food is lacking to say the least, and the place was disgusting, food everywhere on the floors and dishes, servers were nice but slow.

Love this place. Staff is always courteous amd friendly. A+ to Annie in bakery my kids are always so happy to see you. Tom the cook has those steaks down to perfection.. Thanks to the whole gang for yet another stress free dinner.

My chicken has been bloody a few times. We keep returning to see if things have changed. 1 because I have allergies, and its the only place that has variety. 2 the old one was awesome so we keep thinking, its a transition period.

Good variety of food. Price kind of high on weekend, because they serve steak. Better value for their customers would be too charge a premium for people that are eating steak. I dont like paying for steak when Im not eating steak

Pork and chicken wasnt cooked thoroughly and the mashed potatoes were runny. Usually i have no complaints but today big fail. Asked for piece of steak med and it could have ran off my plate. Gross i couldnt even finish eating

Seems clean and the food was good. Some of the staff was a little un-friendly but we did go at a busy time. So perhaps they were a little overwhelmed. We will go back, just not sure when we only go once and while to Alton.

Could hardly get a steak. Wouldnt let me. Use my birthday coupon because it wasnt printed out even though it says nothing about being printed out and they charged me for sodas when I got water.

First visit was several weeks ago. Much closer than St. Charles location. Food choices were good. Buffet and seating arrangement was good..not congested at all. Will definitely go back.

This is one of the best golden corrals in the metro area. The one in St Charles nasty..as well as the one to South County. Who ever is seasoning this food is doing a good job.

Dirty dinnerware. Please make sure the dishes are cleaned better. We Came with a party of 8. 4 out of the 10 plates used were dirty and had dried food stuck to them.

The shrimp was fantastic! From salad to dessert everything was very good. Croutons on my salad were a bit soft and not crunchy but everything was great!
