I have been buying food from Kissimmee Melao Bakery ever since they opened. I have had great visits and some bad. Everybody has a opportunity to experience a negative experience everywhere they go: its life. There are a number of employees who strive for me to have splendid visits. Sometimes, I come across the newly hired staff; lets just say these are under training. I like to call ahead of time (15-20 minutes prior to arrival) to order food, except food from the buffet display (not available to order through the phone). Things that I have ordered though the phone are their mofongos, baked potatoes, sandwiches, and avena (oat meal) for breakfast. Ordering ahead of time saves me from prep time and from ordering the good looking sweets they have in their display. Their sugar doughnuts are amazing in the morning; hard to find these after 9 am at times). I tend to order the sugar doughnut-hole (10/$1.00) in the mornings to sweeten up my coworkers. My all-time favorite is their cafe con leche (coffee). Forget about creams, try their boiled milk with #bustelo coffee is delish. The bakery is setup as cafeteria with some high tables by one side. I have found their multi-person bathrooms clean and well equipped. I wished the parking area could be better, but Osceola county owns the right lot, so they cant really do much about that: thanks Osceola county. What I like most, is their positive vibe and their positive yet tropical display.

This evening I visited your restaurant to buy an order of food and pastries to go and, I was not very happy with the customer service at the bakery. I was looking through the different types of pastries and waited to be helped but there were no employees around when I was ready to buy something. Another customer came from outside and stood beside me. One of the employees decided to come and help but totally ignored me and asked the lady if she needed help then the lady proceeded to pick out her pastries. I told the lady in a polite way that Id been standing there waiting to be helped and, she apologized but, I still went ahead and told her to pick out her pastries and she insisted that I went first. The employee did not even apologize and said ok what do you want. The lady at the register with painted eyebrows was very rude and, when I was ready to pay for the pastries that were sitting in the pink box right next to her, she just walked away in a careless manner. I also did not like the pernil rice that was served that evening because it was very smoked as if it was burnt and as I was eating the rice had a burnt smoke after taste. My advice to Melao is to have a customer service meeting with all of the employees so that they are made aware that customers should be valued since we are the reason why they even have a job!

Just left the place. Let me start with the good: the mofongo meals and pastries that we got were amazing. Great taste, great portions, especially for the price (cheap, in my opinion). Now on to the bad. While most of the staff were helpful and nice, we encountered an issue when we pointed out that they had messed up one of our orders. The cashier ordered something completely different for my friend and then she looked upset when we reclaimed it, even though we were trying to be as nice and understanding as possible. They then told us that it would take no more than 10 additional minutes to correct the order. After 20 minutes I inquired about the food, again in a soft tone, only to be brashly told by another member to wait because it would be out soon. She probably realized how rude she had been because she added a "mi amor" almost as an afterthought. After 5 more minutes my friend nicely asked them to give her her money back, when all of a sudden, a third different member pulled out the food, and presented it to her in mocking gesture. I felt ashamed as a friend to have suggested the place and as a puertorican for this inexplicable attitude. Service and environment are a must for me when it comes to any restaurant so I will make sure to never come here again as well as tell my friends to avoid it.

Finding this place was out of sheer luck : A real gem! I asked the concierge at my hotel where was a good place to eat. "Do you like real Spanish food?" And off I went. I wasnt expecting much, but as soon as I walked in, the place was packed with what had to be the nicest Spanish people I can meet, being from Brooklyn, you can feel these things. LONG STORY SHORT : I walked down a long line of people looking and ordering food, had help from a Brooklyn transplant named Pablo, got the mixed rice, pork, beef and chicken along with literally the best Cuban sandwich I ever had! Ive eaten a lot of them from different places, but this one? OMG... The kind of sandwich you remember all your life!!! How do you describe tasty perfection? Im not even going to try. The bread is made on the premises... the pork, seasoning, pickles... This was Cubano sandwich Nirvana! Please, I do not want to take away from the variety plate I ordered either: This Spanish variety of food was just as good, even better than if a seasoned Spanish momma cooked it for you. No wonder this placed was mobbed on a Sunday afternoon. I cannot wait to go back and try theother dishes they have to offer .
