Ive frequented Newark Deli and Bagels (NDB) twice now, and plan on many more visits in the weeks to come. This place is ultra-busy in the morning it seems whether its a weekday or weekend with people trying to get a good breakfast. This results in somewhat slow service; although I imagine if you went during an off-peak hour or called ahead, it wouldnt be too bad. Ordering from the grill is always slower than just a a simple bagel with cream cheese. I really enjoy my simple sausage, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel with ketchup. Costs me less than $5 and satisfies me in the morning. The busy traffic makes the inside atmosphere kinda messy; but they do have two TVs to distract you while you wait for you order. If it was less busy, Id imagine it wouldnt be a bad place to sit and chat for a little bit. Overall the food is good, the service is neutral, atmosphere neutral, value is still pretty good.

I try and try again to give this place the benefit of the doubt. We are here on a weekly basis, simply because of proximity. 9/10 times your order will be wrong. 10/10 times your hot bagel sandwich will be warm, at best. If you are in line, place an order, you are not guaranteed to get the bagel you asked for. If they get to other orders before you that were after you, they will give them your bagel. Most days they are out of certain bagels. They dont seem to restock ever. They need an overhaul of management and operations. Their process does not work.

This bagel shop wins in my book. The bagels are big, the food is great, and the service is great as well. The folks who work here are always fast and friendly. The wait can be long depending on the time of the day and if Univ. of Delawares sessions are in full-swing. I cannot find a bagel shop that can compare!!! My favorites: bacon, egg, and cheese on everything bagel, BLT on wheat toast, low--fat chicken salad on everything bagel. Try it...youll like it!!!! I promise.

Ive been here many times, best bagel on main Street (not saying much), but if you come too late in the morning on a weekend, youll end up waiting 30 minutes. Inside is small and Its tight trying to wait. Its one of those placed that gets so busy that the workers turn to robots. Also the prices seem to have increased recently, seriously just go to a diner. Itll take the same amount of time and youll have a better breakfast.

Had a rocky day last week and received the incorrect order. The owner was awesome and offered to replace the order next time I came in. I have been back several times since then. Todays order was beyond delicious! Bagel was piping hot when I left and was still hot when I got to work to eat it. Keep up the good work! Ps, Im a bagel snob from North Jersey and hard to impress... These are good bagels!

NDB is hands down the greatest establishment in the small college town of newark delaware. every morning, regardless of weekday and weekend, you can expect lines (well worth the wait) around the perimeter of the store for some of the worlds most scrumptious bagels. whatever kind of bagel you prefer, and whatever you like on it, this is a cant miss and a staple of the university of delaware!

Just tried this place today, disappointed. Waited 15 minutes (and it wasnt that busy at all since it was so early) for a toasted bagel breakfast sandwich and it wasnt even warm. Pretty sure it was made immediately and they just forgot about it since it came out in a big group with people who had placed orders 10 minutes after me. Wont be going back.

I have reason to believe this organization is run by the Taliban. Their weapons of mass Destruction? their awful food. The manager argued with me about messing up my order, and the wait for food is absurd. If you want rude service and shanty atmosphere, this is the place for you

Im not sure what all of the complaints are about. This shop has received "Best Bagel in Delaware" three years running. You can go to some other bagel shop that doesnt win state-wide awards, but Id rather have something good to eat. The prices are reasonable too.

Good food, albeit slow and slightly over priced for what is is. Most everything Ive tried is great however. Normally really friendly staff as well, but I wonder why they are cleaning all the time, when Im trying to eat? Maybe I come at the wrong times?

Great place to eat. Website is easy to use. Big menu! Always suggest it to people. Regarding their bagel prices; people should take a close look. The bagels at other shops are much smaller. NDB offers a pretty good price for the size/weight.

love this place, their bagels and bagel sandwiches are great and reasonably priced. since its so close to campus, this place gets CROWDED in between classes and on the weekends, but if you feel like waiting its worth it.

Grabbed bagels and coffee with the family. Counterperson was pleasant and got our orders in quickly as my wife waffled on her choice. Food came in minutes, the table was clean and the bagels great. Will be back.

Great bagels and breakfast sandwiches. They have decent cheesesteaks and pretty good fries too. It gets pretty crowded, but you can call ahead and your order will be ready by the time you get there.

Food may be good, but the wait makes it not worth it at all. 30 minutes (no exaggerating) for a Taylor ham and cheese when there was no line. Never again will I go here

Average bagels + main st prices. Its decent, definitely go here a couple times a year, but its not worth it most of the time. Better bagels elsewhere on main st.

Very busy. Food served in Styrofoam and aluminum foil. They were out of stock on a number of items. My cheese omelet was good. Good to grab a quick bite.

The go-to bagel shop for anyone from the New York-New Jersey area. These bagels are the closest in Delaware to the ones from this region.

This place is popular with the basics because it reminds them of Long Island. Its just a bagel place. Theres nothing sacred here.

They serve the best bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich... hands down. Its especially good on a whole wheat everything bagel.

I love NBDs bagel but you are going to be paying more for them. It can be awfully crowded college students as well.

Bagels and sandwiches are top notch, but wait times can get excessive on weekends while college is in session.

Awful. Slow service even when its not busy, rude staff, somehow manage to consistently mess up simple orders.

Coffee isnt bad, but isnt spectacular. Staff is courteous in the afternoon but a bit aloof when it is busy.
