Ok, first things first, the reviews here...a few are from users with no names... thats plain suspicious. 1) I ordered food and asked for no avacado, because Im allergic. I half-way explained this to the cashier, before she cut me off. I later had to go to the hospital, when I bit into the avocado. Point number one, the cashier (a thicker shorter young lady with light skin brown straight hair, black plastic rimmed glasses and tattoos all over her arms) did not listen to the order or the cook didnt care. 2) When I asked about the vegetables in a burrito, I asked again to make sure I heard right, before specifically requesting no avocado. The response from the cashier after asking the second time was, "What I had said!" I dont care if I have to ask a million times, I should get an answer, not back talk. Why am I expected to learn everything about their menu the very first visit? I shouldnt have to memorize that stuff, thats what a menu is for and if the menu doesnt have it, then thats what the cashier or cook is for. There was no one in line behind us, so there was no reason to be in a rush and their was especially no reason to be rude. 3) I ordered a burrito with veggies and bacon, my partner, a jones something. We waited and while waiting, a docker came in to order something more complex, a combination meal of sorts. They finished making the dockers good and sent him off, before giving us ours. It was warm food by the time we got it. I didnt want to complain since the staff seemed thuggish and likely to do terrible things to our food. I at least tried calling the owner after leaving, but the phone was busy (subsequently, all day) and the place was closed the following day. All I wanted was to make the owner aware of the absolutely terrible service and resulting problem. I cant seem to do that and so, I think Ill just have to sue to get my medical bill recovered, I at least have video of the avocado when I started eating it. Bottom Line: Service by all staff are the worst; if you are not a docker, then you are shite to this business. They will ignore explanations of your medical conditions. For your own safety, dont go here. Its not worth the stress. If there is something good to say, it is that the edifice itself is satisfactorily clean. At least relative to some places Ive been to in Compton.

I was slightly leery of a Mexican restaurant called "Isaac Cafe" but dont let the name fool you. This place is a local treasure. The folks who first took me there told me how long theyd been coming, about the carne asada - and they told me to ignore the unusual name of the place and its somewhat unsavory location. Okay, I said. For good carne asada, Id go almost anywhere. And while Isaac Cafe isnt on an upscale street, it is hardly in an unsavory area. The Food for Less market is across the street and the Longshoremens Training Center is within walking distance. The carne asada is worth the trip. I havent had better anywhere in the Wilmington /Long Beach area. My only caution to you is that you can wait a very long time for your order if you arrive at the rush times. We waited nearly 40 minutes and while the food was great, the wait meant we had to wolf down our meal so we wouldnt be late getting back to work. But if you pick a less busy time, you will be amazed that such tasty Mexican food is waiting inside the oddly named Isaac Cafe.

Used to be (from the early 90s ) the very best carne asada burrito in the harbor. Recently it has suffered the same downward trend so much of our world has. Its still good food, but mind the haphazard service.(called in an order, in a hurry, and when picking it up, was given a blank stare and the suggestion that we wait the 20 mins. it was going to take to get it.

Simply the best carne asada tacos around. The green burrito is fantastic all though it could be a little on the hot side for some people. Best green chile Ive ever had. Everything else on the menu is really good too. Best to call in your order as sometimes it can take awhile if its around lunch time.

The man behind the counter is the best.Marcus I think his name is.the dispatch burrito is the best in the morning. Actually it doesnt matter what u order its all great. The price is higher then most and the time is long but the quality is by far.better then most.my advice is call ahead.

Great menu good prices but they close early so get there by 5pm. I have gone there for their carniasda burrito and breakfast burrito when I started working the docks (32yrs). But they have other good choices. If you dont try it your loss!

The best carne asada burrito I ever eaten. I drive from Beaumont ca just to eat there. I wish there was other locations around but well worth the ride

The overcrowding of Longshoremen really kill this place when it comes to wait (call ahead). The food is good but a bit overpriced for just burritos.

This place is legit. Get the Jones burrito. I find it funny to find a bad review on here.....must be a competitors opinion. Go check it out.

Great Mexican food at a good price. Jones burrito well worth the wait. Try some rice with green or red sauce and you wont be disappointed.

I came in 10 min until closing to buy some food and they straight denied me. Denying customers when your not even closed yet is whack.

This place is way over rated. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. Reason I gave 1 star is because it wont let you pick zero.
