Some of the worst service Ive ever experienced. There was one cashier and I was next in line, then a second cashier came up and asked "who is next?" Before I had a chance to say that I was, an old white lady walked right past the entire line and went right up to the cashier. I then said, "actually, I was next" and the cashier turned to me, rolled her eyes and with an extreme attitude she said "really?? Are you that big of a hurry? Seriously?" I was shocked at her rudeness. I said, "well, I was next, and she cut in front of the entire line" and she kept being sarcastic and saying to the lady that cut, "Im sorry maam, let me help this guy because hes in such a rush and its so important that he orders". I just gave up and said, "its fine, just help her, it doesnt really matter". Then another cashier came up and said she would help me. I cant understand why she had that attitude. Maybe she was being racist because Im of middle eastern decent and the lady is white, or maybe she thought I was lying about the lady cutting the line. Either way, her behavior and method of handling the situation was despicable. The food was good, but its a shame that the service was extremely horrible.

I took my family in on Saturday and bought the large chicken pot pie. We wanted a warm lunch so I asked if the pie was warm and the girl says "no" then abruptly points to a sticker on the top that says "reheating instructions". I asked if there was a way to warm it now and the girl said I would have to use the microwave but I wasnt allowed to put the metal pan in there. So what was I supposed to do? I wanted to return the pie so I could go order a real meal but she put me in such spot that I felt rushed. She acted like she couldnt care any less so I just took it and we all just ate it cold. This place is a real tourist trap because theres nothing "specialty" about their items that you cant get at Trader Joes for a better price. At Ieast I would be treated better somewhere else.

I live in Tahoe and have stopped here many times. Remember the definition of insanity? Yesterday I ordered a spinach salad to go for roughly $7.50. I was so disappointed when I got home and found that the spinach salad consisted of a boatload of spinach and a few pecans. On other occasions I ordered the artichokes - they are always undercooked, but I kept going back thinking this was a fluke. No fluke. The wasabi sauce is delicious but theres no getting around the undercooked artichokes. Lastly, I ordered a breakfast sandwich of some sort to be eaten there - was told I had to microwave the thing myself. If I wanted to microwave something Id eat at 7-11. Their pastries are okay, but wildly overpriced.

I understand that Tahoe House Bakery & Gourmet is one of Tahoe City, CA stars when it comes to cookies so maybe this is all a matter of preference. The cookies are definitely made of high quality ingredients and are tasty a tiny bit of salt would make it better though but I personally prefer a cookie that isnt quite as monstrous and scone like as these are. When I think of a cookie I think crispy on the edges and soft and chewy on the inside.I also think of a cookie as something I can eat as a small treat rather than having to save and put away because its so humongous.

The service was not good... One of the young girls on the cashier had not a good mood. We ask for a cheese sandiwch (not in the menu) and she said that they can did it.... But we received two slices of bread (not warm, no toast) with 2 slices of cheese, from the package.. And it was all... We asked if they could at least warm it up and they said they did not do that (yes, it was a bakery) so we had to use a toaster to not eat it cold. We paid $ 8 for that ... not fair. Bad service, poor quality, would not recommend it.

Good food and service. Sandwich which was great, service was friendly, price is reasonable. Free Wifi is a bonus. I would have given 5 stars, but my salad was over dressed. I ate a little, but to me it was inedible. I should have gotten on the side or just let them know light dressing, but I dont usually have that problem. Oh, and they gave me a bonus cheesecake I didnt even order :)

Their baked goods are so delicious youll make this place a must-stop destination every time you come through! Their banana -walnut muffins and chocolate croissants are my personal favorites! Be ready with what you want to order, as these ladies are busy! They sell local goods alongside their own items. They sell wine as well! Great place

The place was super busy, for a good reason. Excellent coffee! The cookie, muffin and cinnamon roll where some of the best we had ever had. I would highly recommend. The only downfall is the hurried staff. Be patient, it is worth the attitude.

Usually, we like this place for pastries. Today we tried the tortellini salad and meatloaf sandwich. The salad was tired, and the meatloaf was grizzly. All in all a bit disappointing. We will stick to ordering pastries.

I loved this place because they had " Jamaican Jerk Seasoning " and guess what. I am Jamaican :D. Secondly, they have amazing sandwiches and coffee along with the best raspberry twist I have ever had.

Great fresh bread, good groceries, good coffee. not really a restaurant but they make good sandwiches and similar to eat near their fireplace or take to go. They close early on Sunday.

We came 3 times while visiting in Tahoe. The pastries and coffee were great. The service is horrible. They are rude and in such a hurry. Except to the locals who they are nice too!

This was the only place in the US where we got real fresh baked swiss-style bread! Fantastic place with a great story.
