First time I have Himalayan food! Great place! Wonderful aromas as you get in! Very tasty food! Typical music and very good price! My brother and I had Lamb Momo (8 steamed lamb dumplings, tomato chutney - USD 9) as appetizer and it was great! As entrees he had Kukhra Chana (aromatic boneless chicken- dark meat - and garbanzo beans curry - USD 11) and I had the Chicken Tikka Masala (creamy curry, mushroom, boneless chicken - white meat. - USD 12). I ordered mine medium spicy (I like spicy food!) and he ordered mild. Both were great! I will surely come back here next time I am in Sonoma.

A year in Wales left me craving good curries. Had to make my own for 20 years but since Taste of Himalay moved in to Sonoma, I can just head there. Not quite an Indian curry house experience but fresh, very tasty food and the best nans I have eaten in years. Way better than the prepackaged stuff now found in so many restaurants in Britain. And the folks who run it are just great. Have a beer at Murphys pub across the alley then eat at the outside tables and watch the fun from Taste of Himalaya.

This place was amazing. As soon as we walked in, the aroma was perfection. You can see the chefs at work, they and the whole kitchen is authentic. I ordered the lamb korma. The best sauce ever (lamb could have been a bit more tender), perfect blend of spices, delicous. Hubby ordered bengan bahrta-the most scrumptious ever, which is hard with a veg dish. Great naan, perfect everything. Great service. Appetizer, 2 meals, extra naan, one lassi, one beer- $82 plus tip

Excellent North Indian/Himalayan cuisine. We got takeout and really enjoyed ourselves. The Dahl was a little runny but the mixed vegetable curry was tasty. Made the mistake of ordering medium spicy which apparently means zero spice, as they mainly cater to non-Indians. So word to the wise, if you like some heat to your food, ask for hot!

I was with 6 others and we ordered 6 different dishes and shared them. Curries, lamb, chicken. The food was stunning to our tastes. We were glad to have found this place. The owners opened up their gift shop which is a few steps away so we could browse in it. The gift shop is not to be missed!

Love this place! Amazing food, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. Weve been coming to Sonoma for years and this restaurant is one of the reasons that we keep coming back. Skip the fancier places on the square and treat yourself to a delightful meal!

I tried Himalayan food the first time and I really liked it. Similar to Indian food. Curry, Naan etc. I loved their naan and the soups were good. The owner was very sweet and the staff very friendly! I liked the outdoor seating so we could take our dog.

Had a great meal here last night. Had dahl, pakora, veggie momo, macha and tikka curries and all were great except the momo which were slightly plain tasting. Overall a really good meal though and kindly service. Id recommend coming here.

Food was too salty or else not spiced enough. Potatoes in curry tasted like cheap tasteless industrial-variety. Did not hold a candle to good Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. Noisy and poor ambience. Service just OK.

We ordered Chilli Chicken, Rice, Dal and Papad. Chilli chicken is not that authentic and its more American by only adding chilli power over the chiecken pieces. Rice was really hard and dry.

4.5! Service was great, Lamb Momo, Naan and Samosa was one of the best Ive ever had! Matcha Salmon curry was delicious but the curry/sauce could have had a little more flavor.

Awesome food from Chirring and Sovas friendly restaurant. Try the Saag Paneer, Rack of Lamb, Garlic Basil Naan. We send hundreds of hungry people there every year.

Very good food and service. It was nice on the patio and they let you customize how much heat or spiciness you like in what you order. We will be back!

Really good food and a unique layout to the restaurant. A little off the beaten path but worth the effort.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I always get the lamb curry, and the lunch specials are brilliant.

Horrible food and rude. Chef had an awful cold and was coughing on the food. Horrible.
