My wife and I hadnt been here in a very long time...probably because the cappuccinos were just okay.We were out on our Sunday bike ride and looking for somewhere new to get a good cappuccino on Adams Ave.Sadly there was nothing new so we thought we would take a chance on Twiggs.Well that turned out to be a good move because they now have trained baristas and use Caffe Calabria coffee beans....a humongous improvement on the previous model. Our double shot 12 oz cappuccinos served in proper cups not mugs tasted absolutely on the money. We never even knew they served food here because there is no menu board for meals on the wall.We tried a turkey panini and a piece of chocolate expresso cake. The panini was okay...would have been better if it was grilled like we anticipated. The cake was nice but we couldnt taste any expresso in it.However a friendly competent barista who can make excellent cappuccinos is enough reason to come back soon.A smile goes a long way.

Just moved to this part of town and desperately needed a coffee fix, so I was thrilled to find this place within walking distance. The "polar mocha" I got was delicious, and the menu sounds really good. Now, I obviously havent ordered a cake from them (yet) but the photos look phenominal. From beautiful wedding cakes to amazing kids cakes (an old fashioned deep sea diver with an octopus?!!) There is a serious artist working there. Everything in the bakery window looked AMAZING, especially for someone with a sweet tooth like me. Unfortunately, the last thing I need is easy access to cakes, (my fave) chocolate croissants or a $10 a day coffee habit, but I think thats the direction this girl is headed. I might be in trouble.

When I lived in San Diego I would visit this place almost daily with my son for 2 years. The staff new us and was always very kind to us I would stop by for my morning coffee and a muffin for my boy. Always attentive to us. Twigggs was kind of a low key kind of place. They would show local art work and sell a small amount of jewellery. It was a nice fun eccentric place to go with good food and coffee. I recently visited San Diego and decided to stop by my favorite local coffee shop and was sad to see that the entire staff has changed, they stoped selling local art, and seem to be going more hip. It did not have the same feel. But the food and coffee still taste good. I probably wont be coming back.

Thought Id treat a friend for helping me move furniture and was excited to bring them here. Pastry was good BUT, the latte was luke warm and the large hot chocolate I ordered was only a small. Yeah, big cup but filled only mid way, then foam filled it up to 3/4 full and then whip cream didnt even make it up to rim of cup. This also came in luke warm and the coco pooled at the bottom. I didnt bring any of this up with the barrista because personally, the guys personality was sour, even when told thank you at the outset. My trip here was disapponting unfortunately. Sadly, its the same barrista and before and always sour looking. Uuggh

I came here for a 2nd time after church at Grace Church down the block because my friend was craving their passionfruit cake she had tried at our friends cake tasting. I ordered a breakfast panini - and it was tasty, but not a panini. It looked like toasted foccacia bread. The sandwich had not been pressed and grilled. My latte was good - and they had bottles of ginger beer. Yummy! The passion fruit cake was good. So, panini = average. Latte = average. Dessert = Good. A decent choice if youre in the area.

We spend a month in SD every year and last year spent about $500 in this shop including an overpriced specialty birthday cake for our daughter. Came in again this year, first day here, ordered breakfast and espresso and asked them to grind a small bag of coffee we brought with us. Mr. Tatts behind the counter says no. I wonder if ownership knows how stupidly arrogant their employees are. More importantly, if their understand how much MONEY they are losing due to such stupidity. WONT BE BACK.

While waiting in line for a restaurant across the street, we stopped by this bakery and ended up getting a pulled pork biscuit sandwich to share. It was pretty large, so Im happy that I shared it with two others. The biscuit was fresh and soft inside and crunchy on the outside. The pulled pork was nothing special but, combined with the rest of the sandwich, tasted delicious! Im definitely excited to go back again to try some of their other specialties!

I just got married last weekend and ordered my wedding cake through Twiggs. From the cake tasting until the cake arrived on my wedding day, I received FABULOUS service. They are very reasonably priced and followed my requests for my cake perfectly! I could not have been happier with the end result. If you, or anyone you know, are getting married I would without a doubt recommend Twiggs. If I ever need a cake again, I will always use Twiggs!

Had a wonderful birthday party today for our 6 yr old with a gorgeous Monster Truck cake from Twiggs. Practically each of the guests (many of whom European) came to ask where the cake had come from - not too sweet, just perfect! Dont mind finishing the -very limited!- leftovers... :) Also the service over the phone and in the store was wonderful. Thank you, Twiggs! Keep up the great work. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ****

Super chill coffee shop. Neighborhood feel and patronage. Perfect for laptop/book time. Roomy. Not noisy. Nice tables on sidewalk under a shade tree. There is an even more private outdoor seating "hallway" area off the sidewalk. Staff is very cool, very friendly. Only shortcoming is very few beverage choices besides their coffee/tea offerings. Good sandwiches/pastry fare at decent prices.

Grossed out- wash hands! Nice staff in the front of the shop. Ive eaten here before and everything was great. But today, the cook came out to use the restroom and didnt wash his hands after. Im 99% sure, as I was sitting in a table next to the rest room and he walked out while the toilet was still flushing. I hope Im wrong, but that kinda stuff grosses me out. Glad I didnt get any food today ; )

We had a last minute wedding! We scheduled a tasting for three people, had nine show up, they were kind and gracious about the mix up. We ordered, they delivered, the cake was the hit of the party! It looked great, and tasted fantastic! I gave out there phone to more guest. Just wanted to say if you need someone who will come through for you, these are the right guys!

Great place!!! I was in San Diego on business and stopped in based on recommendation on Maps. Service was friendly and felt genuine. As we sat down eating our breakfast we watched several people come in who were greeted by name and knew their orders. I had the bacon egg and cheese biscuit which was delicious! Wish I didnt live so far away or Id visit often.

I recently ordered a carrot cake for a 70th birthday and it was a huge hit! The cake was moist and delicious and the cream cheese frosting was perfect. Not too sweet. I paid over the phone when I made the order and picked it up at the right time with no hassle. This is now my official cake place. Thanks Twiggs!
