Amazingly good Classic American coffee shop. Decor is 60s, right down to the brass light fixtures, private booths, and photos of the Duke and Reagan. Vintage photos of the Riverside area with descriptions give a link to the past. The menu is large and varied. Fried chicken is apparently the specialty. So, the food is much better than expected. The chili con carne is the best Ive had in any restaurant in California, made with real chuck from scratch and simmered forever. The beans were perfect and in correct proportion. The cup of chili was filled to the top and somehow cheese and onions piled on that. Cup of chili and the "Kornbread" muffin was $5. You could order that with a good-sized side salad (which also comes with Kornbread or garlic toast) and youre at $10. My wife had the "basic" cheeseburger (there are many options), a generous patty which was piled high with lettuce, tomato and red onion on a toasted egg bun with Thousand Island dressing. She opted for onion rings instead of fries, and six large ones came fresh and crispy with a side of ranch dressing. Friendly staff in a Christian atmosphere, so be on your best behavior.

The first time I went to Kountry Folks in Riverside, it was good, not great, but good, great service. The 2nd time I met my family there was "Horrible" We had coupons, we were not allowed to sit together as it was one coupon per table, so we all had to sit and yell at each other if we wanted to have a conversation. We were told by Ann, the manager, if thats what you want to call her, (very bad customer relations) that the "owner" gives away alot of food bcuz of the coupons, well then....stop sending out coupons!!!!! Duhhhh........ our server Jamie was "wonderful", great customer service. But what bothers me the most, was seeing my elderly parents eating by themselvs... Shame, Shame on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will NOT ever go back!

Yesterday, April 7th, 2017.... Ive been going to your place since I moved from OC to the IE. Never had I encountered an experience at your place, like I did yesterday. The waitress took our order, fine. She comes with our food, asked me is the bacon ok...I told her no, its burned. She then says, well thats why I asked you. THEN...She picks up the bacon right out of my plate and walks away. OMG! I had never ever seen any waitress do that! The right thing to do is walk back the plate to the kitchen, dont PLUCK OUT food from a plate!! I would have made a seen, but me being handicap at the moment, and not feeling in the mood to argue, after a tough therapy session. I let it go... Which I shouldnt have.

I go there everytime Im at my vaction home in CA and this particular time I called in my order like I normally would 16 fried chicken wings 2 waffles and a hash brown the woman on the phone never gave me my total just hung up. I arrive and to be told what I already know she would have to bill me individually for each wing. Amoung waiting for her to get my bill right which took 5 mins. She returned with a bill. I gave my card and paid when she returned with out my food and just my card I asked her how much longer for my food she then told me 22 - 25 mins wait she just gave my order to the chef. When I apporched mgt his statement to me was he cant rush chicken!! ridiculous refund me now pls thanks

Kountry folk is the maximum regular diner within the IE. they have a huge selection of conventional American eats thats sure to meet. I ordered the Waffle and Wings for the first time and changed into truly thrilled. The waffle became tender and buttery. They use a unique type of honey butter that compliments their pastries without a doubt nicely. The fried bird changed into fried to perfection and became seasoned simply right. you already know a hen is right if you crack it open and it steans. The waitress might be the nicest individual I recognise. Her service makes the meal a close to best rating from me.

Quality food at prices that one should expect to pay for quality food i.e., bargain hunters beware: quaint does not always mean inexpensive. Kountry Folks is more of an experience than what one would expect from an eatery that specializes in home-cooked fare. Its rustic inside and out, but inside its also Americana-vintage at the bar (beer and wine), and tabernacle/town hall in the vestibule and in decor. Best: Every establishment should have a host as conscientious and accommodating as Kountry Folks Daniel G. Worst: Even if he is well-manicured and clean, depictions of Jesus are gauche.

Outstanding restaurant. Emlyn was possibly the most polite & attentive server I have ever had. Coworker had the chicken & waffles which he said was excellent. Other coworker got the veggie plate and it looked fabulous. Now for me. I got the Mama Tried Meatloaf. Let me tell ya. I could do life without parole if the meatloaf that they served was Mama Tried. AND THE CORNBREAD! Back home we call that "slap yo momma good" (I vow that no mommas were hurt in the consumption of this cornbread.) Thanks for a wonderful experience. If my travels bring me close again you can count on an repeat visit!

WOW..WHAT HAPPENED??? Used to be an xlnt place to eat in the past year the place has gone DOWN HILL & fell off the edge! Used to go 2-3 time a month, about 1 year ago. Then something happened I dont know if new mgmt. or new owners but something went real wrong. We decided to try again Oct. 2015 IT WAS & WILL BE THE LAST TIME!! We never even ordered..we just got up & left waited almost 5 min . & no one ever came to our table except for the ants that were crawling on the window sill & down the seat I was sitting in!! MY WIFE & I LEFT & WILL NEVER BE BACK sorry to see a good place go so bad!!

My wife and I were staying across the street at the Motel 6. We were hot, tired, and ready for some food. Since it was within walking distance, we hobbled across the street, got seated right away, got our drinks right away. Our food was delicious (she had the fried chicken, I had the country fried steak) we had plenty of drink refills, the food took maybe 10 minutes waiting time. From the greeters to thr servers to the check-out, everything was above our expectations. Why all the negative posts? You must have been at another restaurant. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

Went this am for breakfast my wife had the homemade kornbeef hash with two eggs and I had the Cinnamon French Toast. The waitress was very nice (Josie) and came over to take our order very quickly. The time from when she took our order till the time the food came had to have been 30+ minutes (thats being kind). The French toast was dry and tasted like it had been frozen (no taste) My wifes corn beef hash had zero taste and the corn beef tasted like it had every ounce of salt (and taste) boiled out of it. Her hash browns had no taste either.
