Went to Costa Vida on 6/17/14. Apparently it was the second day it had been opened. I was told they had great burritos that were not only good, but big. And I love super burritos. First the good: The service was fine, I liked how you were able to see just how the food was made, like Subway. I ordered a super sweet pork burrito that cost 6.99, and it was very good. Now the bad: Ive had super burritos in the past, and this was by far the smallest. Watching the person make it, I found myself disappointed at the lack of meat placed on the tortilla. In fact, there werent a lot of ingredients, period. Certain ingredients Ive come to accept as being included with a super burrito, such as sour cream, cost more to be added! I was able to eat it fairly quickly, and afterwards I was still hungry. That has never happened to me with a super burrito. I suppose it would have been acceptable at 4.99, and maybe have another burrito that was larger, with more ingredients at 6.99, but as is, a bit expensive. I may return because everything else seemed so good, but Im not accustomed to buying a super burrito that doesnt fill you up. maybe Ill try something else.

My family came in for the first time and loved the food. We eat gluten free, and all the options, with the exception of the desserts can be made gluten free. The employees were all very friendly and seemed knowledgeable about their food. Several quibbles: they use an assembly line style, much like Chipotle, which for their selection of food was clunky. For example, I had their delicious Mahi Mahi fish tacos. The fish was cooked upon ordering, which is great, but as a result I had to wait for my food. I also felt that the cups for water and napkins were cheap.

The Panda Express of "Mexican" food. $8.49 grilled chicken enchiladas - sweet green chili sauce. Not too bad. $1.99 small chips and salsa - good. Chips are nice and crispy. Not used to having to pay for chips and salsa. $1.99 bottle of Spring water - overpriced...... $4.9 9 Key lime pie - super sweet, but good. Far from tasting like Mexican food, but I will probably go back to try the chicken tortilla soup. Service was fast.

I love the food but the service at this location is not very stellar. I will probably still go there from time to time and take my chances but good luck if you order something that you have to wait on they will likely forget about your order before you have to remind them about what you are waiting on. So far we have had better service at the folsom location.

I wanted to like this place so much, but dont. The food is okay. I went in for a burrito and quickly found out the dont put anything in that you want. Everything else is a side. If youre paying 100% for a food item you shouldnt have to add your own "sides" in it. And to top it off the food was very dry. I felt I needed to drink every bite down.

The wet chicken burritos are so amazing its huge u can feed 2 with one. I usually est half the next day. The service is great too. They make fresh tortillas for eat burrito. And the horchata drink is the best i haver tried. Only thing i dont like is when the male server is making my food. He doesnt make it as well as the female servers.

I love, love, love Costa Vida (you must try the sweet pork!) and this location did not disappoint! If you have gluten allergies, eat here with confidence. I ordered gluten free for a friend and they bent over backwards to make sure there was no gluten contamination. Well done!

I love this place. Im a snob when it comes to Mexican food, but I also know when to say something isnt Mexican food. This isnt Mexican food by my standards. Its Tex Mex at best. The staff is amazing. Theyre always friendly and the food is decent for what it is.

Last week we ordered 15 meals & recd 14. Today the cheese was all at one end of the burrito & the guacamole was missing. the food was ok so I gave it a 2 star. Im done with Costa Vida. Theres plenty of other places just as close & getting it right.

I got food poisoning and it was so bad I got pneumonia shortly after. The manager was always rude but the staff was fantastic. Theres just no reason to come here with Chipotle so close.
