This is more of a review of your people that work there than the restaurant itself, which is a reflection of your employees. This last Friday, August 21st at 7:15 PM, I had some pretty nasty truck trouble with my 4 wheel drive on my older F-150. I barely made it into the hotel parking lot where your employee "Reuben" takes people by shuttle to your restaurant. Ironically my wife had just ate there with her friends the night before, and mentioned the outstanding service and band they heard, having a great time. Anyways, Reuben took the time to help me look over what could have been the problem with my truck. He didnt have to do that, but I got to tell ya, you NEVER see people do such kind things for other folks these days. Thank you to your shuttle driver Reuben for going above and beyond for fellow Los Gatos folks in the spirit of kindness. My wife will be and I certainly will be back!!!! My wife and I used to love the place after it reopened about 2 yes ago. Huge portions and super tasty BBQ. On top of it good atmosphere with live bands. Great place for occasional dinners and good to bring out of town visitors to get a look at an old historic tavern. Unfortunately I feel the place has severely gone down hill the last year. It started with the new menu, no more salad with your meal (you can order separate) and no bread while you (sometimes a long time) wait for your server to come over. (You can order separate). Overall the food is still good, but I cant shake the feeling of getting nickeled and dimed recently.

Would be zero. I looked at their website and saw "dinner service beings 5:30" ONLY and their hours say they close at midnight on Saturday (today). I arrive at around 11:00pm only to be told they dont serve food. Ive heard so many good things about the food but it seems as though they cant clearly convey when they serve it. Ill never return. Too bad. Ill just go to Henrys Hi-Life instead and get a filet...they have their hours clearly posted unlike The Cats. Thanks again for wasting my time. P.S. Their damned website WILL allow you to make a reservation for 11:30pm...what the!!! Get it together!

Went in last week to cheek out the infamous Cats Tavern. We were seated within about 20 minutes and from what others on yelp are saying I guess we were lucky for that but it was on a Tuesday. Once seated water and not regular bread but complimentary garlic bread was brought to the table. How cool is that? I had the ribs which were some of the best Ive had. My boyfriend order pulled pork which I think was the best of the two. Im not sure what this place looked like before but it sure is cool the way they built the place keeping the interesting history intact it seems. Ill be back again!

Great decor both inside and out. Too bad the hwy isnt more blocked off outside. There is a lot of cool things to look at out front. The service is amazing. We had a very good waiter and he took great care of us. The food is top notch for sure, with large servings. I like my bbq a little spicier, but thats just me. Everything was cooked perfectly, with the right amount of sauce (not buried in it).

Wings are great. Ribs fantastic, salads suck really, dont bother with s salad, every dressing tastes the same. Blue cheese or ranch or Italian? Cant really tell. Service was great, drinks felt weak. New bartender, dont know if she knows what an ounce and a half is. But recommend this place. Great atmosphere, live music, you will always want to eat more even though you cant.

This place is a historical site, no joke. Its also a kitschy bit fun! The food is great, I had the brisket and every bit of it was delicious. Shared with a friend and STILL have leftovers to pack up. They have Live Music on weekend nights and thats always fun. The place tends to get packed but thats part of the fun.

...you dont need a tablecloth to impress me...i was patronizing the Cats Restaurant for over the past 35 years...i loved it then and i love it now...the menu is wonderful, the food Fantastic (cooked to perfection!) and the service is great!,,,excellant music in the bar!...ill be back again...probably on thursday!

What a great place to eat BBQ and listen to live music. I got the BBQ sampler and shared it with my boyfriend. Tons of food and delish! We also enjoyed awesome live music by Last Call. This was a great cover band that plays music that is fun to dance too. The only down side was there was not much room to dance.

We got there 3 minutes after hour reservation time. We had to wait 20 minutes until they cleared a table for us. Then, another 30 minutes until they got our orders. And finally, another 20 minutes until the food was ready. The employees were nice but the waiting was too long. The food was good.

Excellent BBQ pork (ribs + pulled) and chicken. Try the honey glaze option, and burnt ends baked beans. Corn bread On tap selection of beers more slanted to IPA and lagers. A little disconcerting that the mens room was out of order on a Saturday night. Still, we plan to come back for the BBQ.

Good BBQ and a fun environment. Go on Sunday nights to hear Joe Ferrara sing and play in the bar -- hes fantastic and knows more songs than you can even imagine. He even has some kids tunes hell pull out at the beginning of the evening when there are children around.

Excellent BBQ in an authentic feeling venue. The appetizers are some of the highlights of the meal: loaded backed potatoes with bits of brisket and buffalo wings with a hint of BBQ sauce. The pulled pork sandwich did not disappoint either.

Loved this place in the 1990s and its just as cool n 2015. David the bartender is fabulous at mixing cocktails and just a cool dude. Love the vibe, the decor and the crowd. All good. My new favorite place to hangout!

Great place to eat, drink and be merry . Met a large group there and the staff fit me in, served a terrific salmon salad along with the rest of the group. Band was fun and sounded great. Wish they had a dance area.

Great place for cover bands, really great food especially the salmon dishes and the BBQ, mostly good service, one or two long time employees seem to think its OK to be rude to regulars or completely ignore them.

the smoked steak sandwich was AMAZING my mouth waters just thinking about it! the staff were all friendly - even the bus boy stopped to give us boxes when he noticed we were done! we didnt have to ask.

An introverts nightmare. Lots of people crammed into a small space. But everybody seemed to be having a great time and there was a live band. And a bench to sit on outdoors to get some fresh air. :)
