Never have I gone to a place were its like Black Friday for baked goods. Customer service seems fake and they dont explain how to obtain a cruffin. They made my two ice lattes incorrectly as I heard the barista say, "Im totally over my barista days." The cruffins situation so I was told at first come in at 9am to get cruffims so I went back home after going at 8am and being told that. I went back noticing everyone in line for the cruffins had a token in their hand I asked the cashier and she told me that I couldnt get one cause I didnt get a token when they opened first in the morning. No apology for them being in the error. So I bought their regular pastries and kind of annoyed to be lied too. My most recent time going there they had only two kinds of pastries left I didnt go in for that, because I was annoyed after my third time being in that the customer service was horrible with handling the fact they only had limited pastries as well the attitudes of the employees. So I got two iced lattes, the man behind the counter said, " Im totally over my barista days." He slowly prepared my two drinks doing them completely wrong. Your suppose to pour the shot in first than the milk. So I ended up with two plastic cups of milk topped with barely half a shot of espresso. Really?

This place stands out compared to the area. While they clearly mark what their items are, they dont indicate what kind of filling each has. Not all the items I tried had a filling, but most did. In some cases I was pleasantly surprised. In others, it could have done without. I tried the cromuffin. It was just ok. I should say Im also not a fan of cronuts Ive tried at other places. So perhaps its just not my cup of tea. I couldnt tell what the filling was, but I know that I did not like it. The churro croissant was good as was the donut. But for the prices I just didnt enjoy it enough to want to come back.

Wasnt really expecting much (A lot of highly rated donut places are hyped up bc of hipster reasons, etc), but I loved the chocolate croissant and the white chocolate donut (The cream inside is delicious and light and doesnt taste like white chocolate at all). The fam also liked the cookies and the cruffin (Theres chocolate cream inside). The chocolate croissant was filled with a nutella like chocolate, but it was lighter/not as thick as nutella. The pastry was light/airy pastry dough. The white choco croissant was like a fluffy malasadas (island donut) with choux puff pastry cream inside. Def will come back.

This place was on my bucket list for awhile and to be honest, Im kind of disappointed. We went right when they opened since there are limited parking. Great for a photo op for Instagram but, the food was okay. The employees werent really helpful. They assume you already knew the menu choices. Had to ask them several times what were the pastry options (mostly what ingredients were in them...). They seemed annoyed when you asked questions. This will be my first and last time I go there... FYI: pretty far drive if youre staying in downtown Los Angeles!

Its quite a lot of twist and turn to get to this place. Its like one of the nicest looking building in a ghetto neighborhood. The donuts were excellent. On a first look basic everything looks overly sweet, however, it wasnt. The taste is very decadent. The sweetness level is just right. However, I wouldnt go back again, because its quite expensive. I bought 6 items and it was 25$. I cant fathom paying that much again, but it was a nice experience to try once.

After all the cruffin hype, I was sure I would be disappointed. Nope. These things are legitimately amazing. (The rest of their baked goods are really good too.) Havent decided yet whether its a very good thing, or a very bad thing, that I live within walking distance from this place. If you try a cruffin and you live on the west side, get ready to resign yourself to making an at-least-annual pilgrimage to my neighborhood.

Not sure Id wait 90 minutes for cruffins again, but I do agree-- they are damned good! And it is possible to luck out and show up at 9am when cruffins go on sale and get them on some days when the line is short or theyve made a bunch, so there is that to consider... And while the croissants are good, theyre not quite the best in LA. The cornflake cookie is excellent tho, well worth it!

Cornflake cookie and donuts are good here. If you want a cruffin you will need to stand in line prior to 9am and get your cruffin ticket. They max out at about 80 cruffins a day and limits 2 per customer. There is another line to claim your cruffin. On the weekend you will need to go before 8am to snag one. If you want a white you are required to purchase at least 6 items.

Very hip bakery in northern part of fast gentrifying Figueroa. Concrete and white tile decor and club like music might not work for everyone but the bake goods are definitely good. Smoke salmon crossaint with a hint of wasabi is my favorite. I dont really understand cruffin. It is basically a cream filled vertical crossaint.

I wanted to check out Mr. Holmes cruffin - croissant muffin. Cruffin of the day was with raspberry filling. It did taste like a croissant except shaped like muffin. I also had the mocha donut - mocha cream filling; fruit danish and chocolate croissant. Very good. Not sure I would go back as its too pricey.

Came by Friday, October 7 just before 3 pm. Google says open to 4. Store closed. No signs stating when open. People cleaning inside see me at door. Ignore me there. Called number and outgoing messages was a week old with no hours information. Seems badly run. Poor communication. Unreliable.

GOOD: Great pastries, creative ingredients, fun space, and solid people watching. NOT SO GOOD: Aloof, under-employed, apathetic hipster service, prices about 20% too high, and microscopic coffee cups. VERDICT: Sugar always wins in America, so Ill be back.

Mr. Holmes is unique and very clean. Had the California croissant that had smoked salmon, ginger, wasabi, and nori. The cruffin for the day had a ginger filling also. Like how Mr. Holmes bakery change up the ingredients for the fillings daily.

Experience was great. Very open minded environment with a youthful vibe to it. A lot of people come in there to take Instagram photos and the staff dont seem to mind it. I give it four stars because the prices makes it look overrated.

Attitude. I was basically invisible waiting in line to be helped. I walked directly out and across the street to La Monarca Bakery and was greeted by a very friendly and helpful person. 2 stars because the goods looked delicious

Dont mind paying the price if its worth paying for...a few tiny pieces of blueberries for $4.36/piece? Its unbelievable! Terra Mia Bakerys $3.00 blueberry muffin is more than worth the visit. Mr Holmes can borrow a piece...

This place was delicious! And super trendy! I had a hazelnut croissant! It was magic. Seating in this place is weird. Make sure you order something to drink, the pastry is flaky and rich. Great IG photo spot.
