This is a difficult review to write, because Ive been a fan of Ladyface for some time now, their beer and food is excellent ... but last night, when a friend was passing through town, and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat, I had a whole new experience there. I arrived about 10 minutes before my friend, so I sat down at the bar and ordered a beer and fries while I waited. When my friend arrived, I asked if I could just move my stuff to the table three feet away ... "no, you have to close your bar tab, and start fresh over there" ... ok, fine. When I sat my beer on the table, the rudest waiter Ive ever encountered, walked over and held up the little tiny "reserved" sign that I didnt see, and said "you know, when I see a sign like this, I usually assume it means the table is reserved". Ok, fine, we moved to another table three feet away from that one (plenty of empty tables around). The same waiter followed us over there and said, "we dont usually serve food at this table", I pointed to the table right next to it on the other side, where people were eating food, and said "what?". He walked away, and my friend had to go fetch his own beer from the bartender. I sat my stuff down anyway, grabbed the assistant bar manager, who knows me as a regular who always takes very good care of the staff, and she took care of me and my friend. I assume this whole thing boiled down to a territorial dispute over tips, between bar tenders, waiters, and hostesses ... but I refuse to spend another dime in a place where management allows the staff to treat paying customers like that. You need to foster an atmosphere that encourages staff to do what ever it takes to make the customer experience a good one. Let customers transfer their tab from the bar to a table three feet away. The bar tender and waiters should be able to coordinate something that simple, its logistics 101, not seating arrangements at the UN. Hire waiters who say things like "Im sorry sir, this table is reserved, can I serve you at this table over here?", not something that equates to "hey dummy, read the tiny little sign on the table". Sorry guys, Ill never see you at Ladyface again.

We have been going to this place practically every weekend, just the two of us of with friends. Their menu was small, but we were able to always find something right for us. Their sweet potato fries were really good, potions big and always fresh. Not so long ago they have decided to change their menu and removed some of the most popular items. Portions shrunk at least twice in size and the quality of food and service skyrocketed DOWN! Today we have gone their to relax and enjoy a glass of beer. When we started approaching a table on the patio, a guy walked to us and said very rudely that they are getting ready to close those table for a big reservation. It was very strange, but we agreed to sit at a different table. A few minutes later they sited a couple at the table that we selected at the beginning. It took them almost half an hour to get us the fries and our beer, and to be honest, the food wasnt good. We have finished with our food and when we were getting ready to leave, noticed that all the tables were available and no one was setting up for a big reservation. We found out from the waitress that the guy who asked us to move was manager of the restaurant and we asked to speak with him. That conversation was extremely unpleasant and the guy was very rude. I had mentioned to him that we are often customers at their restaurant and that I think they just lost our business, on with he walked away with a phrase: "Ok, have a great day!". Not only, they made us wait for our food very long, we felt very unwelcomed and the staff was extremely rude. Never, ever, ever will be coming back to this place again and will not recommend to anyone!

I must admit I got a bit lost when I went up to Ladyface. No, not because the directions on map quest were wrong, but because I did not expect it to be in a shopping center so I assumed that they were wrong. So, when we called to ask how far they were from the Islands Restaurant in the shopping center and they said right next to it, I had to do a double take. For one, the locations signage is hard to access/read and two, the actual places looks more like a bistro than a brewhouse. That said, this is nevertheless a great place. First, I love the vision they have for this place, very Arts and Crafts movement. Second, they do brew on location. So, it was a real treat to see one of the workers fill a keg from one of the brew tanks on the restaurant floor. So, how is the beer? Pretty good. Note: Just because its a micro brew does not mean it is great. That is not the case at Ladyface. Distinct flavors within a line (e.g., IPA). I had a taster of three and all three were different yet good. On the day of our visit they had 9 Ladyface beers on tap. The best way to taste them all was with a flight. The flight will range in price depending on which 8 of the nine you choose. So each taster will range from $1-$3. Yes, there are smaller flights. I think they had a 4 and a 6 beer flight. It is best if you share the 8 flight - drink responsibly. As for the food, it is pretty good too. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was firm and the batter was crunchy. All in all, the drive up there was worth it.

Staff is not so good... Food and beer are though. Server was nice, manager was another story. I went to restaurant with a large group, we split the tab ourselves along with the added in 20% gratuity, wrote the name and last 4 digits of the card to be charged along with the amount to be charged as they cannot split the bill. Not a big deal, we had over the total amount owed (we checked and double checked). The manager on duty came to us and told us (loudly, so the whole restaurant could hear) that "we could not add" and that we owed more money. He added more money onto my card without my permission, just because my card happened to be the last card ran. When I was able to show him the mistake, he did not apologize and was VERY unprofessional and unkind. He suggested instead of him fixing the mistake, people in the group could just give cash to make up the difference. He also did not offer to fix the mistake because "the cards had already been ran" and was completely rude to the entire group. I recommend the food, but do not go if you have a large group; they are horribly unaccomodating and management is in need of some change if that is how they treat customers.
