I was definitely skeptical about this place at first--I mean, sushi in Searcy? Im originally from Las Vegas where there are quality sushi places on every corner, and I actually spent the summer in Japan a few years back, so while I thought it was exciting to see Searcy was getting a sushi place, I didnt think it would be exactly up to par. However, I was very pleasantly surprised! The menu offers a wide range of pretty authentic Japanese cuisine, and its all high quality! This place is not just "good for Searcy"--this is actually like a quality Japanese restaurant! Dont be fooled by the exterior--everything inside is very satisfying. The menu offers variety, all the food Ive tried is high quality, and the service is wonderful! This is now my favorite restaurant in Searcy--even moreso than McAllisters.

Lovingly called "Backyard Sushi" by the locals (a combination of the names of the former and current businesses occupying the premises) this new Japanese restaurant is a stellar addition to the Searcy cuisine landscape. The menu includes much more than sushi, although the sushi rolls and sashimi cuts are among the best I have had anywhere. Sashimi portions can be small, so if you have a big appetite, order something else to go with it. Teriyaki is a favorite for the non-fish eaters in our family. The atmosphere is more business casual, so please dont bring the kids unless they eat grown up food (no fries and burgers). Prices are not the cheapest but are reasonable for the quality of cuisine offered.

Ive eaten here many times, although it was a little "better" for lack of a better term in its first months of operation it is still good and imho better than the Fuji steakhouse that opened shortly after. Im sure the few minor changes were because of the competition or supply changes. I wont hesitate to take family or friends there, the lady that does the cooking puts up solid, hot food every time.

It took my server 30 mins AFTER he brought me salad to realize we didnt have any utinsels! He made it through the salad not getting touched, my sashimi not getting touched and my MAIN course of steak hiabchi sitting here getting cold, before he thought to bring me a fork. There is 3 other couples on here... Its not busy. The food is decent but the service is horrid!!

Dont let the ex-backyard-burgers exterior fool you; this place is the real deal. I have moved from Searcy to the Nashville TN area and have yet to find a place in Middle TN that tops this Searcy staple. It is extremely affordable, but not fast. You can eat a lunch hibachi for less than $10 with tip. This is better and cheaper than Fuji on the west side.

Ive been here dozens of times and Ill probably go here dozens more. It is probably not the absolute best sushi or hibachi youll ever have, but it is solid. And for the price, it is nearly unbeatable in Searcy: it is possible to have a really filling lunch here - hibachi AND sushi - and not spend more than $12.

The steak was the only thing that was pretty good, but its in big chunks and theye dont give you a knife. Fried rice was bland. My daughter got teriyaki chicken and you couldnt taste any sauce even tho it was covered. The soup taste like saltine crackers. Ill stick to Fugi. Wasted $50

The sushi was okay, grocery store quality not like you get in a real restaurant . The seafood habattchi was swimming in soy sauce. Very salty and not very good. The service was awful! The waiter ignored me and took a long time for my drink refill. I would not eat here again

Dont expect world-class sushi, but for Searcy the quality of the food is a veritable surprise. The entire menu is good, though a little pricey. Try to go at lunch for the same food at much more affordable prices. Dont forget to ask for some hot tea - its free!

Sushi Cafe is a great little place to eat. It serves hibachi quality rice and meat along with many great types of Sushi. Personally, I love the Hawaiian roll and the spicy tuna roll. Definitely worth a try!

Our favorite place to eat in Searcy. The sushi rolls are great. The chicken fried rice is affordable and is my college students favorite thing there. The hibachi and teriyaki are both delicious.

Love the sushi! Gotta try the bomb roll. We really dont care for the rice or other food here tho, so we always get sushi from here and get an order of rice from fuji.

I cant believe this place has 1 star ratings. Me and my best friend come here at least once a week because its quiet, friendly, and the food is incredible!

The sushi was not what we expected an over priced. The teriyaki chicken tasted freezer burnt. I will never eat there again.

Not great, but not bad either. Miso soup tasted a little watered down. Ive certainly had better, but Ive also had worse.

Probably the best sushi in town - a bit cheaper than Fuji and a quieter and more intimate place for a date.
