The problem with bakeries in Salt Lake, is that once youve had Gourmandise or Les Madeleines, all other bakeries are compared to them. Obviously this isnt a necessity, and we can try to be subjective individuals, but come on...stop being so damned self righteous. We came to Tulie because it was open on Sunday. It totally served the purpose we expected it to by providing a form of warm beverage and a pastry. But it was all totally mediocre. I will give it the benefit of the doubt that because it was later on a Sunday afternoon, which Im sure isnt their busiest time, they didnt have all of their normal selections available. But based on what was available, which was exceptionally limited, it was an OK experience. I got some of their homemade caramels which Id definitely pass on next visit.

My wife is a bit of a cookie-aholic and she likes to bring cookies into the office so that she can pretend like she is being kind, but we really know that she just wanted to try some new cookies so she bought enough to try a bunch and blame everyone else for eating them. Josh Freeman and his wife also enjoy a good cookie and recently, while I was commenting on the best cookies in Salt Lake City, he mentioned that in his experience the best cookies Utah had to offer were found at Tulie Bakery. I scoffed at and ridiculed him for challenging my expertise and then my wife showed up a few weeks later with Tulie cookies. I did not apologize but Josh is likely correct in his analysis. The many other treats that I have had since have all generally turned out to be very good as well.

WOULD SPEND WAY MORE TIME AND MONEY HERE... AND love everything EXCEPT croissants are overcooked and it is so sad because they would be so so tasty if they were not almost black and too hard to eat without them coming to pieces of sharp painful sadness. They cut my mouth and make a mess that is less tasty... I say!!! STOP OVERCOOKING THE CROISSANTS OR MAKE HALF OF THEM NOT BURNED!!! My coffee was weak as well... perhaps an anomaly... I may never know because my heart has been so bummed by burned croissants again and again. We shall see...

Tulie is the most incredible gourmet bakery experience one can have in Salt Lake City. The pastries are so divine, I highly recommend the Frangipane Croissant with a crispy outer shell and a soft luscious inside. The Morning Buns are a great compliment to one of Tulies many coffee offerings. Tulie feels part provincial France, part Paris, and modernly American in its cake, coffee, and pastry offerings. A gem in the 9th and 9th area, and open Sunday! Jadore Tulie!

Expensive, but delicious. I got the toast with almond butter, banana, and honey. Down side is that they are pretty slow at making the food items if its not the already made desserts. Because a bunch of people before us ordered sandwiches or whatever, we waited approximately 25 min for our food. The owner did give is a warning that there was a line ahead of us who ordered food, so I knew the risk going in. Worth the wait if youre not in a rush.

Their $5 cream cheese "danish" is made with cake dough instead of being a pastry. It also has very little cream cheese. Its more like a stale, dry crusted and forgotten piece of cake than a fresh and crunchy pastry. Needless to say, their non-traditional hipster recipes dont live up to the hype. Its almost as if this bakery existed more for the egos of staff, owner and customers than for the culinary experience.

I have been going here since its opened and Ive noticed a huge drop in the customer service. The last three times Ive been here, I have had to remind the staff of my order after waiting 15 minutes and the result is a rushed, burnt, item. They always apologize but since its happened several times I feel like something should be said. I would love to go back to being obsessed with this place. Please make it happen!

We had a fantastic experience with customer service and the amazing food we ordered ahead of time for my daughters wedding brunch. Everything was packed beautifully in boxes for us, ready on time for our pick up, and the flavor was just as delectable as if we had eaten it there fresh from their ovens. I cant recommend this place enough. In fact Ill go tomorrow for some macarons since its Macaron Monday!! ❤️

My office has been trying out all the bakeries in town, and so far Tulie is the best. Their cinnamon rolls are over-the-top good and you HAVE to get the little chocolate brownie things that look like they were baked in a shot glass. I had a few of these that were amazing even a week later after just 30 seconds in the microwave.

Ignored when my pregnant wife and I walked through the door. Offered no assistance when I asked questions about their product. They were closing in an hour when we arrived and cleaning up but was especially surprised when the two employees walked into the back before any hello had been offered. Nice cookies though.

The coffee here is really wonderful, but its the pastries, cakes, toast, and sandwiches that keep us coming back. The cheesecake with fresh, local fruit is especially rad. Check it out! Just be sure to snag a spot at a table quick if youre staying, seating is very limited.

Try the banana creme tart its f*$%#@* incredible. Pretty much everything they serve is great. Be careful though because they are kind of sticklers about closing the kitchen at 5 so only the deserts are available between 5-6 (none of the toasts, sandwiches, soups etc...).

Loved loved loved this place. Very good bakery. We enjoyed an almond croissant and the morning bun. Both great. The owner was very nice and enjoyable. One of the employees was angry but otherwise a great bakery and a must to visit. You cant go wrong here. =]

I am always blown away by the consistency and quality of the goods here. The morning bun is to die for. Further, the coffee quality rivals that of some of the best coffee shops in SLC. Staff is helpful, location is beautiful, and there is plenty of seating.

Pastries are unbeatable. Mouthwatering, flaky, buttery, fresh, and extremely fattening. I go here as much as possible. Highlights are the sticky bun ($4-5) and the quiche ($5-6). Price is well worth it. One of the best pastry bakeries Ive ever been to.

Got 2 sandwiches and the salted Carmel pastry. Pricey but delicious, food took a long time to be brought out to us and we were the only ones in the shop. It was also super hot. A fan or the ac on higher would have been nice.

I scoffed at the idea of paying $5 for a piece of toast with avocado on it, but after having it I cant believe I can get something that tastes that amazing for only $5. Their pastries are also some of the best Ive ever had.

Ive tried quite a few pastry shops around town, Tulie is by far one of the best. They use cafe straw ibis coffee from Logan so the coffee is the BEST. Try a muffin some time or their french toast made from brioche, mmmm.

This place deserves the hype (and the prices). I have never been so happy to spend $4 on a pastry as I was on my morning bun--sheer deliciousness! Espresso was perfect and ambiance is spot on for a fancy bakery.
