EDITED REVIEW from 2 to 4 stars, PLEASE SEE NOTE BELOW Dont bother using coupons here, they will rip you off. We have been here twice in the past and things went great (although last time the food wasnt as good as when they first opened). Tonight was terrible (not just the dry lamb). We came in because they advertised a buy one get one ENTREE 1/2 off coupon in the local coupon publication. My wife and I both ordered the $14 lamb platter and we also got a $5 chicken kids meal for my 2 year old. When it came time to pay I found that they put the discount on the kids meal... saving us a whopping $2.50. I questioned the waitress because it didnt seem like in any sane world that a kids meal is the same as an "ENTREE". She agreed and went back and talked to the owner who just sent her back saying that thats just the way they have it setup and so thats that... I paid, and the waitress was really apologetic. I told her its not her fault (and tipped her well anyways), but that this was pretty deceptive and that its not a good way to run a business. We will not be back. The owner doesnt seem to care about his customers so why should I care to give them my business? EDITED: After posting this review the owner/GM reached out to me and he reviewed all the tickets from that night. After doing so he admitted that they had indeed made a mistake and was apologetic about it. They are sending a gift cert and we are willing to give them another chance. The previous times I have been there it was good.

I am not familiar with Greek cuisine, but if this was any indication, I might be hooked. Since I wasnt very familiar with the terminology and food names, I ordered what was called the Mt. Olympus which had a nice variety of what Opa! has to offer on one platter. It was good to sample a good portion of the menu in one sitting, so I could settle in on what has become one of my new favorite foods. The gyro portion of the platter was to die for. I can still taste it several days later. The sausage and potatoes were good as well, while the chicken was decent but not earth shattering. Nevertheless, the gyro is where it is at. My father, who has spent time in Greece, agreed. The decor is nice, and despite a packed restaurant, the service was friendly and was working hard to keep up with the demand. I honestly cant wait to go back with friends and family to share this one of a kind experience.

We visited Opa for my Mothers Day dinner since the other steak places in the area were crowded. The Calamari was delicious starting off. I added a salad to my meal not knowing that it is actually served with the meal, or so the server claimed. She probably forgot it, oh well! In my opinion, there is way too much food on the plate and plus a salad, its a bit overwhelming. The pita bread should be served in a basked like most other restaurants do, not hanging off the side of the plate. Gordon Ramsay would have a hay day here! The food was delicious, I will give them that. Although my steak was more on the well done side rather the medium well that I ordered. I had to tell myself "its not a steak restaurant, what do you expect?" The food was delicious just wish the experience was better managed.

There were some good things and some not so good things about Opa! First the good stuff: the lamb and Greek sausage were really good. The hummus was very delicious. Not so good: the chicken was way over cooked. It was almost inedible it was so over done. Everyone like the feta fries, bread and desserts we had. The baklava was very tasty but I thought it was a bit to over baked. The tiramisu was good, but the presentation was all messed up. They seved it on a huge plate with Hersheys chocolate syrup all over the plate which I though almost ruined it. I wish they had served just the cake on a small simple plate and it would have been terrific. Service was good and very personable, we enjoyed that part.

Stop whatever you are doing. Now. Im serious. Get to Opa! Taverna as fast as you can. I dont work here. I dont know the owner. But... I just moved to Rockwall from Washington, D.C. and this is immensely better than any Greek food in DC that Ive had in 8 years. Im talking Taverna Cretekou, Kava, etc. This place outshines them all!!! Food is amazing. Makes you feel guilty when you start wishing your Yia-Yia made it this way. Ask for the Spanikopita. Its not on the menu but the best Ive had outside of my mothers kitchen (sorry Yia-Yia). Im pulling myself away from the most succulent lamb chops Ive ever had to write this. Trust me. It is soooooooooooo worth it!!!!!!!!

The staff was friendly and the decor looks nice but I was disappointed overall. I ordered a gyro plate and my sister ordered the roasted chicken. The chicken was good, gyro meat was average, and all the side dishes were very bland. The pita was greasy. They also got my order wrong which doesnt bother me too much but there was only one other table there and I had to flag the waiter down to let him know. Just dropped the food off and left. Refills were also slow. They also try to use burned fries as a filler in every meal which surprised me since their prices are a little high for that.

Finally!!!! A really nice Greek restaurant. Loved it!! The food was amazing and the portions are very generous. The service was also excellent and the owner stopped at each table and introduced himself and checked to make sure everyone was happy. Growing up near Chicago and going to Greek town was always one of my favorite places to go. The Saganaki appetizer has always been what steals the show for the whole "OPA" experience. Had the gyros and it was excellent! Will definitely be going back. A new favorite!!

This place is fantastic. The staff was super friendly and took care of my every need. Sexy ambiance, mouth-watering food, and an all out phenomenal experience. I go twice a week and I am still not tired of the food. This is truly a professional establishment and a must if you want some authentic Greek food. Opa!

Great food! Suggested we go here after having a gyro pita at a local brewery tour. The whole family loved what they got. The lamb kabobs/skewers were cooked perfectly. The gyro meats were juicy and flavorful. All the veggies that came with it were delicious.

They forgot half of our food, conveniently remembered to charge us for it. They said that a staff member would deliver it to our house. I thought that was great service recovery, but were still waiting for it to arrive an hour and half later...
