This was absolutely the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I have eaten at the others on Preston and Addison. Maybe this place is just too new, but My Carne Asada Tacos were like leather. My wife ordered street tacos - 1 fish; 1 chicken with pineapple and 1 meat. She couldnt eat them. The fish and chicken tacos were evidently cooked very similar and were orange in color and had a curry taste to them. The meat taco was okay. Our food was cold when arrived. My margarita on the rocks tasted like a lemonade and my wife ordered the sangria and didnt drink it. She said it was so overloaded with brandy. They need to stick to their old menu or get a new chef. The staff seemed newly trained which was fine but with new staff and poor food, we will not be revisiting. One other thing, the avocado verde sauce with the tacos was good but where is the salsa. It was dark and very sweet - yuck!

Food was terribly bland. I will not be coming back. First off, the red salsa leaves a bad aftertaste. The green salsa is ok flavor wise but neither taste like they have any salt. I ordered fish tacos and got lots of little pieces of fish in an orange color instead of a tilapia filet. No salt or seasoning otherwise. The one thing that could really set this supposedly "Mexico City Taqueria" apart would be some fresh or handmade tortillas. Instead they opt for run of the mill pre-made tortillas that are not warmed up properly. It is almost like they are steamed or heated up in a microwave. They turn out rubbery and cold. Worst tortillas from any restaurant Ive been to. I lost my appetite and didnt even try the rice. Also, the lettuce that came as a salad on my plate was bitter. The restaurant is quite nicely decorated inside and the patio looks inviting.

Decided to stop in as we just moved to the area. Fantastic atmosphere, classic crisp white interior and amazing music that completely pulls you into the theme of the building. Upon the recommendation of the waiter, which service is simply top notch!, I go De Brisket tacos from the especiales section. Let me say, that having eaten alot of food from around South America the brisket tacos are top notch. Very very authentic flavor, portion size is just spot on, moist flavorful brisket in a hand made soft tortilla. Overall this place is fantastic, very classic design with a crisp modern vibe. Was a little too hot out to go outside but I would be willing to put good money down that sitting outside, a good frozen drink and some more of these tacos would be the perfect evening. Dont skip on your next trip out for dinner, swing in here and have a great time.

The food quality has been inconsistent. Sometimes the food is excellent. Sometimes it doesnt look or taste fresh. I get fajitas and can tell if I am going to have a bad night based on the onions. If they look yellow and dripping with oil, I am going to have a bad night. If they are white and cooked to perfection, I am going to have a good night. Also, they sometimes overcook and dry out the beef or chicken. The cooks dont pay attention to detail and I guess the manager is oblivous to what they are putting out. I recommend that the manager starts paying attention to the food coming out. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to keep hoping for a good night. I will be going back to Desperados, which is more consistent but has the smokey bar. Hopefully, I will find a good Mexican restaurant soon.

We had a very large party and a lot of separate checks. This did make the service a little slow but still a great experience. The manager was by a few times to check on us, which is always a nice touch. I love the creamy green salsa they have on the table and the corn chips, they refill constantly. Our food came out with all substitutions like we ordered it, which is hard to do with such a large party. My food actually got lost in the mix (theres always one!) but the manager offered to comp it, which was kind. I was a little bit hangry by that point but the chicken enchiladas were so good! I also had a portion of my friends cornbread and brisket dish. AMAZING. MUST TRY. SO GOOD. This new location is really nice and has a cute patio.

Great ambiance and seating possibilities for larger groups (the patio has at least two great spaces for an 8+ gathering). The food was great! I really enjoyed the pozole and my husband enjoyed his street tacos. The kids shared a chicken quesadilla, which I sampled and really liked. One thing I love about this place is the different salsas! They brought us two to start with, and then we asked for "the spicy ones," and they brought two additional. With all four salsas to add to the food, nothing was bland! I wonder if seasoning is kept to a minimum specifically b/c they offer all those salsas (?). In any case, we had no complaints! Great service, great food. Will definitely be back.

I find it interesting to read other reviewers say that the food is bland here and that the salsa smelled or tasted smokey (the red one has smoked peppers in it!). It was our first visit last night. We had the Brisket Enchiladas. Everything from the chips and both salsas to the salad and black beans were great. Do the other reviewers not know how to put salsa on their food for added flavor?! The staff here was over the top friendly. The chef and the manager both came to the table to see how things were. We arent casual Mexican food people. We breath it (all styles). This is an upscale, trendy and great place. Dont believe the haters.

Went in for to go order. Ceviche was amazing, nachos elegance, too. Normally we go to the location in uptown across from the Magnolia. Always perfection there. But, at this Richardson location, I ordered green chile Posole and was given what appeared to be an old wilted container of cabbage, radishes, and cilantro that was so old it was curled up and black. Would they eat that? Yuck! The radishes were translucent and tinged pink. Not at all fresh. This really makes me sad because Posole is my favorite thing on the menu at the uptown location. Guess I wont be going back to the Richardson location anymore.

I dont even know where to start. We live in the apartments down the street and were so excited that a Taco Diner was going in so close. We gave them 4-5 times of going there before we just gave up. The service is TERRIBLE. The servers just have no sense of urgency. We had our food one time for 10 minutes before I got up and got myself silverware. The queso (white and yellow) is almost always watered down and gets cold so fast. The main dishes arent that bad. Mambo taxis and other drinks are their saving grace for me. We go there now to only drink and to eat chips and dip.

I wanted to try this place at least twice before I wrote a review. I saw all the reviews about the food being tasteless and wanted to taste for myself. Unfortunately they were right. The food is as bland as it gets. The second time there I tried the " sizzling fajitas". First there was nothing sizzling about them. The chicken didnt have an ounce of spice on it. Onions were plain. No taste whatsoever. The red salsa has a very funny aftertaste. Nothing like any other salsa I have ever tasted. I will not be going back.
