This place has an interesting aesthetic. I like how some of the rooms are almost sectioned off, minimizing the noise, which can get pretty loud in coffee shops. While it isnt the best place ever in terms of atmosphere, there isnt anything to really complain about either, and the service was great and the baristas were friendly. The cortado was surprisingly mild after a string of very bitter, somewhat burnt tasting cortados at other places, though this may be too bland. It still isnt bad though. To sum up this place, it was nice, but nothing wowed me.

The Nook is a "coffee persons" coffee shop. They have a variety of blends from a local roaster and yummy pastries. It has a really cool industrial feel to it and a variety of seating. Being on the UH campus, it can usually be challenging to find a seat. But if you can, come in, hunker down, and enjoy a delicious americano... or mocha... or whatever your jam is.

Calm place to study if you need ambient noise, or just a really chill place to relax with friends after classes or work. Nice selection of both hot and cold teas. One of the few coffee houses Ive visited that serves the affogato dessert which wasnt as creamy as I expected, but then every place makes it different.

Cozy ambiance (board games, couches, WiFi), friendly service and great selections of coffee, tea and beer. They have also started offering cupcakes and macaroons from Sweets. Nothing beats their freshly squeezed orange juice on a hot day. Definitely the best coffee shop in that neighborhood (5 mile radius).

Great to have a place like this on campus. Nice study spots with plenty of outlets. Also good to hang out and socialize. Coffee is from Katz coffee and the price isnt overpriced. Some of their drinks do reach $4-$5 dollars. They have small amounts of pastries that doesnt always look fresh...

Love the staff! Theyre so quick and friendly. Music can be a little loud inside, so just be sure to bring some headphones if you plan on studying. Really chill, nice, and clean place to study or drink coffee with friends/dates when you need a break from the library or class.

Great coffee and a great place to study at UH! Prices leave something to be desired, but the free wifi makes up for it. Owned by a UH alum and they help sell products from other UH alumni companies such as Caphin and Glazed. Beats waiting in line at the Starbucks nearby!

I cannot believe how good the coffee and service is here. This place is the Starbucks killer. After the first taste of your drink, you will compare the experience to being born anew. I strongly recommend everyone to put going the Nook in your bucket lists.

Visited The Nook on Lukes Cafe Day, while I was not impressed with the Lack of Gilmore Power, the Café itself was awesome! Very friendly staff and customers. Everyone was pleasant and the coffee was wonderful! Best Caramel Frappuccino I have ever had!

I love this place, I post up here for hours. the ambiance, the employees, the music, and most importantly, the coffee and espresso! We needed this at UH. What we got was one of the best coffee shops, if not the best, in Houston. Cheers.

Ive been getting my caffeine fix from here for the past three years and Im not stopping anytime soon. Super smooth espresso and bottomless drip coffee make it my go to, and the local pastries from Tout Suite and Sinful are great.

Awesome love. Great atmosphere. Amazing, friendly employees. Only critique: improve pastry freshness! Same day quality matters if your beverages are on another level! Definitely recommend this place

Coffee is OK, atmosphere is nice. The baked goods are brought in and could be fresher. Better trained Batistas would help this place out too. Closest thing to an old school coffee shop on campus.

Amazing coffee, but I wish they would tone down the hipster vibe and blatant gay propaganda. But the coffee is so good they could be having an orgy in the front and I would still place an order.

While no one menu option is all that riveting, their beer selection is exquisite given your choices before noon. I recommend a Hop Rising and an outmeal cookie, the breakfast of champions!

Love their rattlesnake latte. Its sweet but good. Its a cute little coffee shop. Usually always busy. They have chalkboard walls you can draw on. Their chocolate croissant is good too.

Fun place for a quick bit or a coffee. Check out the patio in the back for some casual conversations. Coffee is very good, and small bites can hold you over until the next meeting.

Friendly staff, good coffee, plenty of seating and plugs, and clean bathroom. What more can you want from a coffee shop on a college campus? Plus next door to a few restaurants.

Maybe the best coffeehouse I have ever been too. Great atmosphere, great staff and most importantly the best latte of my life. Try the rattlesnake, not too sweet, just right.

Usually the same 4 roasts for drip coffee, but good espresso drinks and teas. The small beer selection is good and cheap. Sometimes the music is a bit loud so bring headphones

Great coffee, croissants, and service. Sometimes too loud to study in... but there are many "nooks" for you to hide out in if you do want your own space to study.

This is the best place to get a coffee and relax anywhere near the University. Free wifi, great mochas, and they even do movies/special events some evenings.

Love this place! Employees are always very polite. Priced normally for a coffee shop, overpriced, but the big fluffy chairs and macaroons are worth it. Lol.

Nice and cozy. My friends and i visit at night time for coffee and playing a few rounds of jenga or cards against humanity. Chill environment, good music.

As every coffee shop should be, IMHO. Other than The Mod in Galveston, this is the best pulled shot of espresso Ive had in my 13 years living in Houston.

Brilliant place to grab a coffee before class. Or to study for a while. Youll get weird looks if youre not hipster enough though - be prepared.

Nice spot and their craft mimosas are yummy. Steer clear of the food, though. Its just marked up grocery pastries slapped in the microwave.

Definitely goes in the top 5 best coffee shops in Houston, As a UH alumni I really enjoyed having the Nook Cafe on campus during my studies.
