Try Chikuyo-Tei Asian Cuisine instead at 4722 Lebanon Pike in Hermitage, in Oakwood Commons shopping center with Publix, Petsmart, etc. I always loved Sakura until today and was a faithful customer for years until new management kept cutting costs and playing with the menu. About 6 months ago, new management stopped half price sushi lunch on Wednesday. I could live with that, only half off on Mondays:( Oh well, new half off menu has prices marked up from regular menu then half off but still a great deal nonetheless. About a month ago I noticed the Naruto roll on the half off menu and ordered 4 of them. The new manager immediately came over to confirm 4 orders as if surprised although each order only has 6 pieces. After further introspection, I realized his problem was the white tuna component of the roll which is expensive so they were probably losing money. Two weeks after that, I went to Sakura with my son and ordered 4 Naruto again but this time JoJo said something to the manager and the manager came over to explain there was only enough white tuna for 2 rolls, not 4...just One problem with that as we were sitting at the sushi bar and could clearly see the white tuna there and there was enough. Today I went in for "half off" sushi lunch Monday...and GUESS WHAT!! Menu changed, NO Naruto. So I told NEW management I was leaving and why and not coming back. Customer lost!!! I immediately headed down the street 5 minutes to the newly opened Chikuyo-Tei Asian Cuisine restaurant in Oakwood Commons shopping center. They had excellent food and the total cost of my lunch ended up less some way or another. I just want to say that the sushi chef at Sakura, JoJo is excellent and he deserves better management to work under. I hope Sakura gets their issues fixed as I see slippage in customer loyalty that may lead to a closed door sign.

We went last week while on vacation, the food was excellent, the cook did an amazing job. But management wise (I would assume, not certain), changes need to be made. I ordered very little food to cut down on the cost of the meal, I was not aware that everything cost an arm and a leg when I walked in. I got the steak and shrimp, no sides, no vegetables, no rice. It immediately cost more than the entire meal without me knowing. The cook, empathetic of how little I ordered, gave me extra shrimp. About 5 minutes after I had already got my food and everyone else had started eating, the lady came to get on to the cook, and demanded that he take the shrimp off of my plate and throw it in the trash. I am disgusted with the service I received, all because of the manager. I made sure to tip generously, but she does not deserve any position in a food establishment. The chef deserves a promotion.

The worst service i have ever received.Went inside and right off bat no one greeted us but finally they noticed us and seated me and my girlfriend. this was the third time going but this time it was over the top worst. we sat with other two people by the grill and we had the same server. for some reason we were invisible because i had to wave my hand two times before i could get a refill on my drink. this old Japanese woman came off racist and just rude. after i asked to speak to a manager, she grabbed someone from the kitchen staff and obviously i could tell he wasnt a manager since she was yelling at him in their language. Point is if you plan to eat salted food with a whole bunch of butter this is your place. like i always say...gods punishments are worse! til then ill wait before i ever think about going back.

Hands down the best Japanese food we have had in town. We travelled broadly and have had some of the best sushi in the world. The sashimi we had was so fresh and the tempura was light and crunchy with the perfect amount of batter. The house-made dipping sauce was the right balance of spiciness and flavor. The decor was traditional Japanese with an intimate feel, and the service was personal and attentive. We just cant say enough good things about Sakura! The best part is the price was very reasonable. We have found our new favorite restaurant!

We go to this sakura Japanese restaurant every year for the past 4 years now for our anniversary dinner, we went in this year on 5302013 and we sat down and got our drinks and saw a cock roach on the table where we eat at it was coming right to us and it came from the grill where they cook at. My husband kill it with the fork set they had on the table but they was not saying anything. It was sick, its sad to see a use to be good restaurant go so bad well never go back there again.

Will never go to Wasabi again. This place is very clean. Last time at Wasabo, floors are just filthy. Rice and other food all around bottom of tables and chairs. Curtains are black where you have to go thru them. Menus are sticky. Food was ok, but based on the restaurant cleanliness, I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like. Service and food and cleanliness at Sakurai are very good !!

I brought food for lunch (to Go) yesterday...I ordered chicken and shrimp and when I got home and tasted my food, the shrimp was rubbery, and hard. The chicken was hard not fresh. Did not taste like it was cooked on a grill. Tasted as if they sold me left over shrimp and chicken from Sunday. Wow ...I paid $ 28.00 for my meal. I was so disappointed!!!

We eat here a lot and really like it. Im not sure what type of service folks are expecting but for the price, the service was just fine. My wife has a gluten allergy and has to have her food prepared separately in the kitchen. We bring her gluten free soy sauce and they are always very understanding and accommodating.

Our grill would not stay warm...took forever to cook our meal. He tried to give us undercooked chicken multiple times. We had to tell him that it was still pink at least three times. They offered us a discount due to the problems with the grill...then tried to charge for items we didnt order.

Absolutely love this place! We always get food to go and its so easy to order online. The food is always ready to pickup, no waiting. They have never gotten our order wrong and we always get generous amounts of food. Best crab ragoons I have ever had!

This place used to be really rough. With a sanitation scores in the 60s and the service not that great...it was upsetting. Now that the management had changed, open longer, food taste improving, it has become a favorite again with us.
