I placed an order over the telephone, for pick up. A word of warning to all VISA users: restaurants are allowed, by VISA, to add a 20% tip to any order (apparently they dont have to tell you they are doing this either???), and this will place a hold on that amount of money on your card, be it debit card OR credit card. I found this out the hard way when the charge to my debit card included the extra 20%, I was NOT informed, and this caused an overdraft in my checking account, leading to over $300 in fees from the bank and utter chaos in my life in general. So, that was the first problem with Panda Buffet, when I got home and checked my bank online they had added the 20% - not mentioning it to me, of course. But, most importantly when I got home the order was missing a few things I had ordered and included some things that I still am not sure what they are. PROBLEMS: 1.) The Broccoli with Garlic Sauce was, in fact, mixed vegetables with maybe two or three pieces of broccoli. 2.) The Boneless Spare Ribs were very fatty and served like no spare ribs I had ever ordered in the past. It looked like it could have been the Hot & Spicy Chicken I had ordered - MAYBE. 3.) The Hot & Spicy Chicken looked like a whole bunch of vegetables with a wee bit of chicken, once again fatty, and not very hot & spicy. 4.) The Chicken Teriyaki was missing, and when I called to complain the woman who answered the phone said she had checked the order and the bag of CT was in the order. Hmmm, maybe I was abducted by aliens on my way home and they took the CT and sent me back on my way home. What other explanation could there be? 5.) When I called to complain about the missing stuff, the woman on the phone told me to bring the whole order back so she could show me what was what because she was sure it was all there. UNACCEPTABLE!! I plan to tell anyone who will listen about this disappointing and maddening problem with Panda Buffet. They HAD a good reputation up until now. I told the woman to just be decent and remove the $6 tip I had written in, as I no longer wanted them to have the tip, to say the least. She told me to come back and she would give me $3.75 for the missing Chicken Teriyaki, so once again I told her to just remove the tip. It remains to be seen whether or not she did this since the "true" charge will not appear for another 2 or 3 days. ARGH! All this on a Friday evening after a long week of work! The food at Panda Buffet is, unfortunately, pretty good, overall. Some examples of exceptions would be that the chicken they use has too much fat in it and cannot be eaten within removing the fat first, and the hot and sour soup has very tough strings of celery and onions which are unpleasant to encounter.

Never going back. Watched as people in front of me paid with a regular credit card (not debit). I get to the register and hand the server/cashier my bill and my card (Chase Visa). She immediately puts the card down on the counter without scanning it and says "You have cash?" Of course I do and I tell her as much. She then says we want cash not credit. I point out the people before me paid with a credit card and I would like to do the same. She just says, "Not okay... we prefer cash." So I begrudgingly give her the cash (with half of what I would have tipped her if she had just used my card). I notice as I am putting my wallet away that the next person in line gives her a credit card too. She took it without any hesitation. What kind of weird discrimination is that when a clean cut, clean shaven and nicely dressed 50 year old (me) gets the crap treatment and everyone else seemingly gets a pass. I watched from outside for a moment as others also used their credit/debit cards. When she saw I was watching she says, "You paid you go, okay." I left without incident or rebuttal but still could not figure out why I was privy to such doings. I was quiet, kind and considerate... said please and thank you... didnt raise my voice or engage the people dining around me... I even had my cell phone turned off. Yet here I am feeling singled out for extraordinarily poor treatment (was it because I was the only solo diner there at the time). Luckily for me I dont feel like I would have wanted to go back anyhow after sampling their sub-par buffet. So to summarize, I would give this buffet two thumbs down. One for the obnoxious way I was treated at checkout and the second for having a very undistinguished buffet.

Panda is a bachelors type of chinese buffet. Its not beautiful to behold but it is good food and the prices are fair. Buffet eating is a matter of WHEN you decide to go. Their buffet is best during a rush, take-out is best during a lull. For those complaining about takeout here, they are a buffet and as such they must focus on keeping it stocked. All orders are prepared from scratch so they may take slightly longer than the 20 minute estimate typically given (five minutes or so), this greatly applies to the following. Keep in mind WHEN you make your order. They only have 4 cooks so ordering at a rush time like 6-7pm on a friday or saturday is unwise because thats when everyone else is ordering too. For those complaining about the quality of the buffet. Once again typical buffet rules apply; if you go at 2:30pm on a wednesday afternoon, the quality will be lower than it was at 1:00pm that same day or even a saturday in general. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone who happens to read it. TL;DR

Its not a gourmet place and it looks kind of so-so, but the food is good. Its probably really unhealthy because its pretty oily and fatty, but it tastes good for that reason. They have almost never messed up a take out order - were so confident in it that we never check the bag like we have to do at places like Mcdonalds. It takes a while for a takeout order to be made though. Potentially up to double the time they say during busy times. If you go there often enough they actually recognize and get to know a little about repeat customers.

I thought the food was good but the last time I ordered it sounded like I was charged a little more than what I should have paid. This time I added up the cost this menu said it cost and add the 6% PA sales tax and I was asked for $7.00 more than what it should have been. I ordered at 12:10 on a Friday and was told there is no lunch special so I was already paying more than what I should have been. I dont mind paying good money for good food but this is deception and I walked out without my food and will never go back.back.

This is my favorite place for chinese food! Its the best you can get in town. The staff is always friendly and very courteous. Food is always delicious and never have been sock from it. Wide variety of dishes and sides. Very gracious if a large order is 0laced and staff remember you even if you dont come regularly.
