Best Japanese food Ive had in Rockland, innovatively prepared and for two people with Sake, three appetizers, two entrees, extra tea, the check of only $60 was entirely reasonable. We also enjoyed the service. Attentive but not overly "hovering," friendly, informational, etc. The hijiki was served warm - a real surprise. The Age Dashi Tofu (fried bean curd) was barely "fried" with a very light, tasty coating and wonderful sauce. My Nabeyaki Udon was perfectly prepared... ...unlike at many places I never felt the need to start piling on soy sauce to add flavor. The sushi was exquisitely fresh. Nothing even slightly "fishy" about the mackerel, e.g., and the tuna was just amazing. In sum, Ill give Wasabi a whirl sometime, but already have the feeling this is the one in Nyack Ill be back to....

I never do this but I get take out from there. Last time I had to bring my tuna roll back to show them because it was grey I tried the most healthy looking one and it was off. I was worried they might poison someone. And this time I had two fish bones in my roll. Id rather pay more somewhere else that has sushi chefs that know how to properly prepare sushi. Sketchy. Maybe they think that because its a take out order they dont have to care?

Everything we tried was top-notch. I was especially pleased that on my first visit, when I order the aji special, the sushi chef asked if Id ever had fried aji bones. When I said I hadnt but that it sounded interesting (and commented to my wife that a restaurant where they recommend unusual dishes on our first visit is definitely my kind of place), the chef had it prepared and served to me, free.

agree with the previous reviewer, murasaki has really good food at a reasonable price. staff are nice and friendly. dont really get the golf pictures, but we go at least once a month, not to mention take out. wasabi tries too hard, overpriced and not at all worth it. but if you like low light, waiters dressed in black and sticker shock at the end of the meal, wasabi might be more of your thing.

I could not agree less with the previous reviewer. Yes, for those who prefer a fusion disco, Wasabi is your place. However, for those who prefer authentic cuisine and quality cuts of fish, Murasaki should be your choice. Their chefs are meticulous and friendly, as is their wait staff. The fish is fresh, their rolls well-made, and the items from the kitchen are superlative.

Restaurant japonais traditionnel ! De bons produits, cuisiné devant vos yeux si vous vous installez au comptoir. Cet endroit est très agréable !

We ate there on our trip home from Boston. The sushi and rolls were very good. The teriyaki salmon bento box was yummy. The service was good and it brought back memories of our trip to Japan.

I would live here if they didnt kick me out every Monday night at closing. The sushi chefs are on a whole new level here. They have truly mastered their art.

Wait staff was cold. Ambiance was non-existent; felt like a library. Sushi Rolls were plain. Sashimi platter was fresh, but did not like selection.

Lunch specials are reasonably priced, the rolls are delicious, and the staff is friendly and efficient. What more could you want?

Pretty good. Not as chic as the place down the block but who needs that? Good sushi.
