So this was my expierence. First, when I called to place the order the girl who answered by the name of Emily didnt have proper phone skills. She did not greet by her name (I found out her name because it was on the receipt) or the restaurant name all she said was "Hi, what can i get you" Not friendly at all. Then when I went to tell her my address for delivery she was like "what?... what?... what?... Hold on... I dont know what your saying" when I was saying it clearly. Another lady came on the phone and was like whats your address, very demanding. So, they finally placed my order told me 30-45 min wait. An hour later I called them and asked when my food would arrive and they said "it left already, it will be there soon" 10-15 mins later finally the guy with a black hat and glasses came to deliver the food and he said the total, I gave him the money and before I could even pull the $5 bill out of my back pocket for his tip he said very rudely "huh, no tip tonight?" and walked out. In my head I said well if you wouldve waited a minute. Then I opened my food and it was COLD! The cheese was thick and not even melted any more I had to microwave it! The food was good but the service sucked. I will stick to Kings Pizza on Greekill Ave, Kingston NY. Awesome food there and always great service, They may not have delivery but I know Id get better service.

I love this place. I live out of town now, but still wanted to make sure my Mom felt special on Mothers Day. After calling plaza pizza, who flat out refused my request, I called Picnic Pizza, who was more than happy to aid me in my quest for Mothers Day greatness. I asked for a buffalo chicken pizza with a bleu cheese heart on it, they delivered. I asked for them to write down a few words and have the delivery driver say them to my Mom, they did that. When my Mom asked the driver to give her the hug that I would have given her if I was there, they did that too. On top of all that, the pizza was delicious! They were able to fill both her belly, and her heart, and for that I will happily fill their pockets any time I am looking for pizza in the Kingston area. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Clear and away the best NYC style pizza in Ulster or Northern Dutchess County. Kills anything in Rhinebeck or Red Hook or Hyde Park or Kingston. If you want fine Tuscan style artisan pizza, go to Posto in Rhinebeck, but for pie or NY style slices, Picnic is far ahead of the competition. Crust is thin, sauce/cheese ratio is just right. Toppings are great and fresh. I did see a complaint about customer service. I suppose I could see how that could happen, but this is a real NY Italian style pizza place. The staff are authentic funny and nice. It took me back to the experiences in pizza ships in Bronx or Brooklyn. Dont waste your time on any other slice/NY pie in the area. It is definitely worth the trip across the river.

Sorry but I had to change from a 5 star to a 1..The first time I ordered the Pizza and heros were great, the second time not so good, mushy hero bread and cold pizza with hardly any sauce, Okay I know there are bad days.. But today I placed an order for a pie and 2 heros.. I told the girl who answered the phone TWICE that I had a coupon for the heros.. The delivery guy came and I was charged full price, he tried to call the restaurant to make it right, but they kept putting him on hold! I had to pay full price, by then everything was COLD and of course the hero bread was mushy and not much to them again.. Why?? I will never order here again!!!

These people may be busy but forget the most important thing, their customers! It is rude to place people on hold, then return to them and take a partial order and put them back on hold. Then when they finally decide to return to you, they dont know which order is yours. Then they call you rude because youre aggravated by the way theyve treated you. Their pizza is good but not good enough for that kind of treatment.

Cant believe the poor reviews. There are 3 excellent pizzerias in this area. Picnic is at the top of that list! Their slices are incredible- yeah it looks a little cheesy inside the restaurant but the pizza is so good, try the eggplant specialty slice or any of the chicken slices. Try it again if youve had a bad experience.

Just had a pizza from Picnic, and thought it tasted great. I picked it up, so I dont know if table or delivery service is good or bad, but Id definitely get another pizza from here. Based on my experience, it was in the top 5 pizzas in the area (and we have a LOT of pizza places).

Great pizzas! We ended there after our car broke down on the highway, and it was à very good surprise. Thin tasty crust and really good toppings. We are from Europe, living in Montréal, and it has been a long time since we ate pizzas like that.

Wow. Stopped randomly for lunch on the way home from NYC. Great, "so good I want to leave a review" slices and super cheap. Food more than makes up for the pretty terrible aesthetics. Counter help pleasant and attentive. Will come back!

We love it! The Eggplant Parm Pizza is wonderful. Their crust is light and you can really taste the difference from their wood fired oven. The kind folks at Picnic really know their craft and we order from them regularly.

Terrible service. Do not get food delivered because they take forever. The food isnt great either. We got an 80$ deliver from this place and they decided to take 2 hours to get it to us. And most of it was salads. AWFUL

This place had the BEST pizza in the Kingston area. I am originally from an Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn, and the pizza tastes the same. Even the tough guy attitude behind the counter is the same.

Pizza is good, other dishes are good, atmosphere is one step above a bowling alley. Delivery can often take forever. For some reason, Ulster County just can not get pizza right.

Consistently inconsistent. Have had the best pizza ever here...but half the time it is gross. Definitely eat there or get take out...delivery is almost always bad or wrong.

The dining room was very clean. Pizza was delicious and reasonably priced. Every one was friendly. I will definitely return again for both lunch or dinner.

Went in once to pick up a pie only to hear what looked like the owner spouting racist remarks behind the counter. Wont ever set foot in that place again.

The best pizza in Ulster, Dutchess, Greene and Columbia counties. Fresh ingredients and friendly staff with good prices on amazing pizzas and entrees.
