I always have mixed feelings about this place here is why: The baby back ribs are amazing! They season the fries perfectly; however, the cornbread muffins are a bit of a miss. Over all good food. So the food by its self can stand on its own it is pretty good; however, here is the catch: The building looks a bit neglected. Several times I came in during the summer the AC has been broken (I feel bad for the employees that have to work in the kitchen). There are open electrical junction boxes open on the west side of the building with wires exposed to the elements. How much does a cover cost? The walls have been chipped and the trim work in some areas could have used a bit more care. Some of the booths have seen better days and they have some very wobbly tables. The front door for as long as i have known has always had one of the doors out of service, I am not sure what is wrong with it but it seems to me that it should have been fixed by now. I can get over all of that though. However, the place needs a deep clean. The black ties on both ends of the salad bar have a greedy feel, in front of the salad bar you can remove caked on grease with your finger nail. The glass surface on top of the sneeze guard has clearly not been cleaned in months, dust everywhere. Cobwebs hang from light to light above the salad bar. There are white cutting boards in the back of the salad bar that look a bit dirty as well Last time I was there it was just passed the lunch rush, there was 1 table with 2 individuals sitting in the dining area. With a group of 3 that was about to have a seat. There were no less then 11 tables that had not even been cleared. So in summary the place has good food, but the owners/management need to invest more money back in the business, get some fresh paint, and fix some rather minor repairs. But more over they need to do a deep cleaning and management needs to keep on the staff to make sure the place gets cleaned correctly every night.

Visited a few more times since original review, so updating a bit. Been around for few years now, and it has really established itself. It is the long needed BBQ joint in Shakopee community. Great sandwiches (the Pile and the Slop Bucket are fan favorites), Mac and cheese is solid, corn muffin and Apple butter is tasty. Louisiana pulled pork is great, but pretty much all the meats are on point here. Not Bakers ribs (up in EP)as classic BBQ joints go, they are rock solid option south of the river. It can be busy at lunch, but they have worked through their issues with slowness over the last year so kudos. Lots of families on the weekends, so the community is really embracing them! Definitely patron the local food options and keep food quality hhigh and support your community...not the corporation.

I went here before a couple months ago, and was not very impressed.. but I decided to give this place a second go as I was feeling the need for some BBQ pulled pork.. I got it to go, and the food came quick, and I was out pretty fast.. This time to my surprise it was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I have ever had! It was a nice large portion, and came with fries, coleslaw and some pickles with the large pulled pork sandwich. (On a side note, the bar tender looked to be working hard and having to also seat people? which I found weird) Other than that, it was excellent.. not sure how their other BBQ is but, this was amazing.

Second time here... Pulled pork was good, thats the only reason for 2 stars. The ribs had an overpowering smokey flavor. Colesaw was warm and runny. Now to the really bad, the cups we had were not clean, plates were not clean, floor was not clean. Taking the roll of paper towel off the holder, unearthed gnats and spiders, along with cobb webs and other scum. Finally, the mens urinal is still out of order from last year and my wife told me the womens bathroom was a disaster as well. So the pork was good but this place seriously needs help from Chef Robert Irvine, no joke!!!

I hate to say this, because Mr. Pig Stuff has such awesome food, but their hours and business practices are ridiculous - I mean, who closes on Saturdays? Thats the busiest day of the week for the restaurant industry, are they insane? Its also the only day off my partner and I have, so imagine our disappoint to discover we couldnt have any of that awesome BBQ today. Sorry, Pig Stuff, but it sounds a lot like you guys just want to be a catering business and not a restaurant. If thats the case, get on it and quit jerking the rest of us around.

Took my family based on the recommendations we seen online of this place. The food was absolutely delicious. It was some of the best BBQ that I have had in a long time. The jalapeno was very good. Your could definitely taste the smoke on the turkey. The food was more than I expected. The service we received was less than desired though. There was not a single person doing the hosting at the front. I watched 3 different employees talk to people that had come in so needless to say people were seated before other people.

The food we had was HORRIBLE! Ordering the brisket, babyback ribs, and pulled pork I was very disappointed! The brisket and pulled pork left a horrible after taste and the ribs left a bad taste in general. I found a hair in my baked beans but the mac and cheese tasted okay. I do not recommend coming to this restaurant to eat. The place was not very clean either, floors were very sticky and the glasses were NOT clean.

Ive been going for the pulled pork sandwich since before they moved and have always thought it was the best pork Ive found anywhere in Minnesota. Tried the ribs for the first time tonight though and I was compelled to give them some cred. They were some of the best Ive had, smokey but not overly, tender, fall off the bone and the sauce complemented them well. Great job and a must try. Btw, I had the Baby Backs.

Got the family pig out, which was delicious except for the st Louis ribs. They were compared to a salt lick block. One bite made you thirsty from the amount of salt that went into the ribs. Either I got the salt end of the stick or they dont realize how salty pork is to begin with. I usually make 3 racks of ribs with no left overs and I still have half a rack that no one will touch but the dog from you.

Delicious food, nice BBQ joint atmosphere. I tried "The Pile" sandwich and it was amazing. Pulled pork, brisket, mac and cheese, and slaw all piled on a bun with fries. Thats what I call comfort food. Meat was slightly less tender than I would have liked but flavor more than made up for it. Sauce was sweet with plenty of kick to it. Overall, Id highly recommend it as a lunchtime destination

Oh my god yummy!!. I love coming here and seeing the awesome progress they are making building there restaurant / Brand (I say Brand because every town should have great MR pig stuff BBQ!)
