This place has 3 separated dining areas, the first one when you walk in, with a big bar, wooden floor and brick wall, more of a comfy atmosphere. The one to the right of this room is very modern, simple design with vivid colors against clean white colors. The last room is the one all the way back, with tables and big booth seating, dark room with soft reddish light, making it more cozy and romantic. As it was our first time dining there, we had some questions and our waiter, Brian, was very good at explaining everything, and also gave really great recommendation, from drinks to dishes and portions. And on top of that, he was very personable, friendly, and patient with us. Service is such an important part of the dining experience, and they certainly got this part down. They have several kinds of Sangria, which I thought was great. It seems like all of their Sangria have sweet flavors, which is good for some, but not so great for those who dont like sweet, fruity drinks. I enjoyed them very much. For food, we went with "The Bocado Experience" which is like a tasting menu of tapas and other dishes they offer. You get to choose meats & cheeses, tapas plates, a large plate entrée or paella and dessert. Everything was quite tasty and nice, except for the dessert. This was a date-night option for my girlfriend and I. Before we chose here, I looked over the menu and we agreed it sounded great. When we got here, we were immediately seated without a wait (albeit it was a Wednesday but still great). The waitress was extremely helpful with choosing/explaining the wine flights and tapas options. They have this great deal for couples - $75 for an appetizer, 5 or 6 tapas dishes and a dessert. I do not exaggerate - every-damn-thing was incredibly good. Soup to nuts, this place was insanely tasty... the brisket was tender and juicy, the calamari was fried to perfection with a great cream dipping sauce, the lamb was medium rare (as I ordered) and seasoned amazingly, etc... I could describe EVERYTHING we ate, but Ill keep some secrets for you to find for yourself. I had a sherry flight that paired so well with everything we ate... and we got the creme brulee that was phenomenal... its a weak spot in my food-heart. I would absolutely recommend this place for a great night out and they also have a deal for 4 people that is perfect for double dating. Totally worth it, and youll be hard pressed to find options that arent appealing for everyone in your group.

My family is boggled that this restaurant is receiving such accolades. The four of us ordered the prix fix for $20.09, which the restaurants chef(s) designed for Worcesters Restaurant Week. The roasted potatoes tapa dish was like an unseasoned plate of frozen spuds drizzled with glorified Frenchs mustard and Thousand Island dressing. The chicken fritter differed from microwave dino-nuggets only in shape. One dish of bacon-wrapped scallops practically disintegrated into burned rubble on the plate, while the other plate of the same food featured bacon that appeared hardly thawed. I could go on. We waited for long periods of time before receiving any kind of service throughout the evening. For some reason, only one or two of us would receive one of our courses and the others had to wait for sometimes up to 20 minutes to receive that same course. The waitress was kind and the atmosphere passable, aside from music so loud that it obscured the conversation. I see potential in this restaurant and I only hope that we happened to dine on a very, very off night.

Overall I really dig this joint. Its close to where I live now. I would come here more often for a drink and a snack but the drinks are on the pricey side for a guy who likes to let his hair down. The food is a bit expensive too but its something you really cant get elsewhere outside of Boston so I would not consider the food expensive for the quality you get, its really really tastey and good. The design and layout of the place is nice and it has really good atmosphere. Its a good place to take a hot chic if you want to impress her. Wear your trendy clothes like stone washed jeans and your old navy fleece and order the most expensive wine on the menu and you will score. Oh forgot to mention the wine list is pretty extensive, maybe dont order the most expensive one, but act as if you are finding a good wine deal at a somewhat cheaper moderate price, she will think you have class.

I have been an Executive Chef for 17 years, and I have done fine Dining in a number of places. The food here was outstanding, but I had one major issue. We went with another couple and were splitting the bill, and the split was $133 without tip. The girl came back saying our card was declined, and then charged the other couple $250. My account was $206 short. When I contacted the bank, they told me Bocado charged me $206, which even if they ran it twice it was still not the right amount. Being in food service I know all the scams you can run to pocket money. Now I am a Computer Science and Computer Engineering Student. With this new background, I have learned how to modify computer software to manipulate charges. While I would return, maybe, I will pay in cash. If you have ever split a bill and paid by plastic check your charges

We have had dinner at Bocado several times in the last two months and have always had a great experience. The tapas menu is great-- it is one of the few restaurants that has so many delicious options that we cannot even try them all in one visit! Our server (John) was fantastic, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He usually works at the Providence location, but we are glad that he has been in Worcester the last couple of times weve visited. The extensive selection of wines is excellent and its nice to have so many choices by the glass as well as by the bottle. Spanish and Portuguese wines are very good values that many restaurants do not offer, so we are always happy to try the different varieties at Bocado. We highly recommend Bocado (both in Worcester and Wellesley).

First time visitors a little disappointed after reading all the great reviews. The place was busy and very dark making it hard to read the menu. Shane, our server, was excellent. Kobe sliders were delicious, cooked the way we requested, but got a piece of bone in one of them. Pork loin and fig with blue cheese was a large portion but the blue cheese was overpowering, a little too much for our taste. Veal dish was totally unacceptable because the meat was way too chewy. Sent it back after trying (and spitting out three pieces). Chicken thighs were tasty but the two small thighs were not worth the price (6 or 7 dollars). Chicken fritters (4 pcs) were good. Manager and server were very apologetic. We were not charged for the Kobe sliders or for the veal. We wont rush back.

I love having date night here with the wife. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. Great drinks and wine list. They are consistent with the delicious food, so you never have to worry about what day you go. I know my wife goes here often for girls night out, so this place is perfect for couples and groups. We usually start with a cheese and meet app, then 2-3 small plates and we are stuffed. The weekends can get really busy so make sure to have a reservation and check in early. Sometimes even with a reservation you could be waiting 20-45 min past your original reservation. This happened to us about two times. We still this restaurant. Cant wait to be back again!
