Recently I have been eating dinner off and on at this restaurant. I appreciate good food. Its been 3 weeks now and I cant say anything bad about the food. Its been really good. Yesterday morning it met several friends here for breakfast and OMG their breakfast foods are even better. I love fried potatoes with fried onions, eggs over medium, and corn beef hash. Their coffees are delicious. I only would wish for sometimes better service. There is a blonde haired lady that I always wish was our waitress. Very helpful. One young guy waitress has a lot to learn about good service. Over all I love their food and will come back again, and again. If I have further problems with waiters I will just ask who is in charge. Because the food is so well prepared dont let the waiters spoil eating there. I think its a cozy spot to met your friends and have a great meal. Thank you for keeping the old fashioned meals in this town.

I used to love this place, but just had a terrible experience I need to share. Yes, the food is good and I use to think the service was fantastic, but today was a game changer. I understand that on new years they are extra busy, we did take the last available seats after all. We had a waitress come up and tell us she would right with us, so I had my son check his blood sugar: he was low. No problem, right? Were in a restaurant, the waitress just spoke to us so well be helped soon and hell be ok. Right? Nope. We sat for 20 minutes waiting to be served and watched as she helped three customers that came in after us. Regardless of my sons medical condition, this should never happen, but that just makes it worse. Were now down the street at Dennys and when we told the host his sugar was low they immediately handed us orange juice since theres a wait here.

Food was very average. We ordered breakfast. Server took 15 minutes to even get a drink order. Then another 15 for a glass of water. Server made zero eye contact. We felt very unwelcome while others were being served very quickly. Food took longer than average for a 1 egg breakfast. We didnt ask for any specials or any requests. Just an egg, and toast. The home fries were raw and cold. They were more like sliced boiled potato. I wish I could give it a zero. I was so displeased, I didnt even finish my small breakfast. I will give it another try for lunch or dinner or desert. Maybe come at an off time. I came at 11am on a Sunday. Mountain View Diner, or even Dennys is a grand slam compared to this dump.

Years ago, back in the early and late 90s the food here was great. Fast forward to now and the food is horrible, bland at best. Next to zero flavor and no type of seasonings whatsoever. Service is very slow, and the food has always been just warm. I have ordered takeout in the past, arrived before it was ready, and still received it just warm and not hot. I will never understand what went wrong after all of this time. Older folks always seem to love going here in large groups for some reason, especially on Sundays. Could it be possible that as you get older, 65+ that your taste buds dont work as well as they once did and you grow fond of tasteless food???

Barbara fritchie is a restaurant that has withstand the test of time, its a quaint little diner with extremely over priced food, lack of customer service from the wait staff and an over all attitude towards me and my friend that we were not welcome to this establishment. It took 40 minutes to get my French toast, and it was cold. Not once was my drink refilled and our waiter Sat me and my friend at a dirty table. I can understand this kinda thing when youre packed but the place was empty and I can honestly see why.

Not great place! Its not a place that I would seek out next time when I m hungry. I ordered Chicken sandwich, the children was dry. 8 dollars a sandwich and they give you potato chips! ? If you want french fries you have to spend extra! Wow! We had to make due with 2 napkins between the 3 people. , because waitress was too busy. The dessert was a little better than the food.

Took my husband there for Fathers day breakfast with our 5 year old daughter. My husband & I ordered the same thing and both got sick, ruined our plans for the day we both were in bed within the hour & back and forth to the bathroom, just terrible. Not to mention it took them almost an hour to get breakfast food to us without checking on us once for drink refills. TERRIBLE!

Came here expecting that an awesome restaurant thats been open as long as this one would have great food, sadly though we were disappointed. The good was subpar and the onion rings we got tasted like they came from a freezer. The only reason Im giving two stars is because the wait staff is full of incredible woman who take the time to converse with their customers.

we used to love this place, but it has really gone down. it has gotten really shabby, the food is only so-so and the service (while very friendly) is so slow. I dont know if they dont have enough cooks or what, but the wait for food to come out is ridiculous. Their pies are delicious and the apple dumplings are wonderful! but the wait is prohibitive.....

The decor looks like it hasnt been updated in decades, and thats really part of the charm. Regardless, everything was very clean. The waitress Shirl was attentive and very funny and their cheese steak is great! Not sure why this place only has an average rating of 3 stars, but I will be making this my traditional breakfast stop for future road trips!

Everything was eh. Service couldve been better, food was average, and whatever lettuce they used in my salad was old. I understand its supposed to look old, but it needs a makeover. Wouldve told our server about this, but she only came by twice. Probably not coming back

My chicken sandwich was dry and no flavor. 8 dollars a sandwich and fries you have to pay extra! And sandwich and burgers are not something I would come back for. Spend 30 bucks here for 3 people, I should have gone to chef lin or flaming grill and ate until I dropped!

I got 2 eggs over medium with corned beef hash. The eggs and beef were cooked perfectly. My girlfriend got the chipped beef over biscuits and the gravy is some of the richest gravy Ive ever had. Overall quite enjoyable food with a traditional diner atmosphere.

if i could rate less than one star i would, poor service, asked for a ham and cheese with fries instead got a hamburger with cheese and no fries. Server was very un apologetic saying i had ordered what was in front of me so i just left without eating.

The atmosphere was classic diner, with plenty of authentic art deco accents. Had a great cup of coffee, paired with an egg and some extra crispy home-fries. Loved all of it, and am looking forward to my next visit.
