A friend and I decided to go to El Campesino for lunch today. Never again!! We both ordered a #5, simple enough a taco, burrito, and rice. Our waitor seemed aggravated or pretended he didnt understand us when we requested bean burritos instead of beef and tomato on my taco. When our food arrived, the red sauce on the burrito was horrible tasting neither of us could take more than a couple bites. Also our taco meat tasted like dog food and the shell was moist with grease, literally flopping over when its supposed to be a hard shell! We were both very unsatified with our meals so we requested that he take off the price of the burritos on our ticket, he gave us another aggravated/ confused look and turned around to fix our ticket of a whopping $16(sarcasm). He was helpful enough not to argue and lowered our price to just over $12. We were both thankful for that considering the condition of our meals. While paying at the register, he came over and stood next to me at the exit door speaking in spanish to the cashier. Something went wrong with my card and the cashier asked for a different one, that was weird I thought but I gladly gave him a different card that worked. The cashier snickered along with our waitor and I heard "Declined" and he showed the waitor the computer screen. Seems like they were mocking me for having a bad card. I left feeling sick to my stomach, not sure if it was from the horrible food or the distasteful service. Wont be going back there again.

One of the best Mexican restaurants Ive ever been to! My husband & I eat there often, probably 3 or 4 times per month. Management is very professional, food is great, they are VERY fast in getting your food out to you and its always hot, just made. Dont be surprised to see the manager himself helping to service patrons when they are extremely busy. Its all about customer service at El Campesino, and they are pros. Oh yes, added bonus is the price, which is very reasonable. They do have a full service bar but its not that close to the booths so it is still very family friendly. I highly recommend!

Worst Mexican restaurant experience of my life. Farthest thing from "authentic" cuisine as they claim to be. The only positive thing I can say is that the service was very professional and quick, with food being served 5 minutes after ordering. However, the food quality was god-awful. Portions were very small and food was either burnt or raw and tasted like itd been microwaved and was not the slightest bit fresh. Dont expect to taste "authentic" whatsoever. Id pick Taco Bell over this excuse of a Mexican restaurant. My first and last time ever eating here again.

Ive eaten here a lot... Last time I got something new on the menu. Cant remember the name but it was an entree that amounted to generic frozen cheese sticks and fries wrapped in tortillas and fried. It was awful. They called it cheese and potato taquitos I think. The service is lightning fast but the food quality is marginal... Its not expensive though so its more or less worth it.

Very good! Mexican food is my favorite so Ive been to a lot of Mexican restaurants. This one was really good. My daughter and I both cleaned our plates. Im very picky about salsa for the chips and this was the best Ive ever had. We will definitely be back. We went on a week day, so it wasnt busy but they usually have a packed house on the weekends.

The food was decent, but our waiter didnt seem to care much about being friendly. No smile, just order, re-fills, check, thank you. A little friendliness goes a long way. The music was also incredibly annoying. The same exact song on repeat the entire time. I would not come back to this restaurant.

My family stopped to eat at El Campesino while passing through Dawsonville. Weve eaten plenty of Mexican food, and this was among the best weve had. Fast, courteous service, fresh and delicious food, and reasonable pricing. I left wishing that we lived closer, so that we could frequent the place.

Food was alright but service was sub-par. Went a day in advance to reserve a section for a large party and the section was not reserved. When we were seated we were told no one would be seated in the area but two more tables were seated. We will probably not be returning.

The service was fine until we went to check out. The man at the register said some derogatory things about my girlfriend to his coworker in Spanish. Good thing we speak Spanish I guess... Extremely unprofessional.

Dont get the fish tacos, it was chopped up fish sticks on a tortilla with nothing else. Mostly just gross. The fried ice cream was medocre. This is mot nearly as food as the restaurants namesake in Cornelia.

Pretty good food. Wait staff is just ok. Theyll frequently mess up an order, particularly the middle age guy that tries to memorize the order. Wife loves the soup. Dishes are good. Salsa is average.

One of the best Mexican places Ive been to ever. My favorites are their Margaritas and Chili Rellenos! They are always so fast at bringing out the food. The lunch prices are unbeatable as well

Standard tex-mex. El (pick a spanish noun), same number, same dish. Wish they would make authentic foods. A chili releno has a pepper in it folks.
