Im not from around here but if I was Id spend my time occasionally eating at Great Scotts Diner. The first thing that struck me was that the sign for GSE (henceforth GSE shall replace Great Scotts Eatery) was located too far away from the building to be helpful. In fact, it was much closer to burrito restaurant Jus Burritos [sic]. The slogan is "Taste the Memories", which once you give even a modicum of thought to, falls apart like the frozen hash brown patties they serve. Also, most of my memories are traumatic so tasting them is not my idea of a good experience. Once you get inside, the décor reminds one of a diner that wishes the world ended in the 1950s. Pat the manager was kind but as his name beckons, he unfortunately does not like to be petted. I think for this reason he should go by Patrick or Patrice or whatever. GSE boasts a lot of the food choices youve come to expect from a nation with an extremely high obesity rate. After eating sweet and salty delights, but before the existential dread and self-hatred set in, I realized that this is a great place for the quintessential American dining experience. Honestly, I would recommend GSE despite never getting to meet Great Scott. I understand celebrities enjoy their privacy but I was really hoping to complete my experience with a handshake and maybe even a selfie with the Great one himself. Oh well, a burden the hand is worth to in the bush. 4 stars. Also, Carolyn, if youre reading this, I miss you and want to try that thing with the rubber cone again. I have your phone charger as well.

kind of out of the way for me to dine here, but sometimes you have to head to broomfield to enjoy the relaxed pace of the suburban lifestyle. most everyone there knows eachother so i was feeling a bit like an outsider. however the staff really didnt seem to care where i was from and expected me to saddle up, order some food and kick it with the locals. next thing i know im buddy buddy with some of their regulars and starting to see the finer points in broomfield diners. its the people. and the people there couldnt be more real. absolutly no pretentious attitude from anyone and that made for a very comfortable dinning experience. great place to go if you are sad enough to be dinning alone. cause they will make you feel like your with family anyway. even if you dont have the nicest family to begin with... oh and ricky.. you are horribly mistaken. scott richter has never owned this location and i do not believe he is still in denver. this location opened under a different owner about 10 years after scott sold the greatscotts name. try to cross check your info before you make ignorant remarks. it makes you sound jealous of an already washed up has been. this is all information i picked up by actually eating here and talking to the locals. you should try it...

Scotts was wonderful! As I walked in, the decor was nice enough...looked somewhat worn but was willing to give it a try.I can honestly say with 3 kids this is the PLACE to go! We went on a Wednesday where kids eat free with the purchase of an adult meal. As we were waiting for our food the balloon man which is there on Wednesday nights came and made balloon characters and animals for the kids...FREE of charge...but tips appreciated, so we gave him 2 dollars. Food was good and considering we only paid 2 dollars for kids (cha ching) and the staff was extremely friendly to the us, we will definitely be back! I havent seen such hospitality in a long time.Gail is amazing! I will also be back on Thursday....which are 2 dollar shakes(cha ching). The kids left so happy and so did us parents....hey what can you say....when your kids are happy so are YOU!

I dont recommend going here. The food was mediocre, but the experience was terrible. I brought a coupon and it was refused because it said it was not applicable on holidays and that day happened to be Veterans day. It didnt occur to me to read the fine print, and Veterans day is not a holiday that I would have assumed would apply since no job Ive ever had has recognized that holiday. I dont mind paying full price, but to deny a coupon due to small print in this way felt nit-picky and small. The worst part however was the ambiance. The place smelled of deep fat fryer and all my clothes were infused with the smell for the rest of the evening. It was sickening. The wait staff made no mention of ventilation problems and I certainly havent re-visited, so I can only assume that it was a normal day.

The service is always good, but the food is mediocre and the prices are high for what you get. I do not know why the other reviews say the prices are good; I do not consider $8 for a Patty Melt and fries and more than $2 for a soda to go with it good prices. We go about once a month to say hello to a waitress friend, otherwise we would seldom/never stop. Lucky Four is near, slightly cheaper, and marginally better (good diner fare is hard to find). BTW: their food has gone down hill, but if you go back a little farther (15 years ago, at other locations as this was not a Great Scotts then), you would think the present fare is a substantial improvement...

I went to the Broomfield location with my sons hockey team it took forever to get our food I thought it might be because we had the whole team there and their families so I looked passed that. Not to long after we ordered my youngest so pointed out to me that their was a bug on the floor so when I went to kill it I noticed it was a cockroach. I didnt want to say anything because of all the kids there. I looked passed the long wait but I just cant look pass the cockroach so that will be the last time we go there.

Great variety of food, very reasonable prices, and friendly staff. Ive enjoyed everything Ive tried here over the course of several visits - have sampled breakfast, lunch, and mexican items. Was impressed to see willingness to take special orders and unusual modifications without complaint - in fact the waitress seemed to enjoy the idea of trying to see if she could try to get something new to work. Great eats.

Sometimes you need a good diner in your life, and Great Scotts is an excellent choice. They have lots of room so youll rarely need to wait for a table, and they can handle large parties. They have all of your usual favorites as well as mine (liver and onions anybody?). Its a fun place with great service!

We have been looking for a new breakfast place for quite a long time......WE FOUND IT!! Based on our first experience, I see no reason we wont be back time and time again. Environment, food and service were all excellent. They even went above and beyond in the service department.
