We went to see my friends band here, and after all the bad reviews I was expecting the absolute worst from this place. The waitress we had was great, she was friendly and frequently checked on our drink status. I originally ordered a Newcastle, but she recommended that I try a Full Moon Winter Ale, which was dark, smooth and delicious. We only ordered mozzarella sticks, so I dont feel qualified to give a full food review, but the sticks arrived promptly, they were hot and there were a good amount for the price. The place is noisy, but the crowd was friendly enough. even before the the band started I was almost shouting to my girlfriend across the table. The only complaint I have is the strange policy of the staff to collect the stools we were sitting on after the band starts. WTF? I am from NYC and have been in bars that were packed to the point where moving around was almost impossible. I have never seen a place take away chairs that people were sitting on. The staff was polite and somewhat apologetic about it, but we still found it very annoying. They should just not put the stools out on band nights, then my girlfriend and i would have grabbed one of the tables with regular chairs along the wall. That cost them a star in this review, but I still think the place is far nicer and friendlier than other reviewers have made it sound.

Dirty. Expensive. They need a better sound system. And teach the bartenders how to serve in order when its busy. I cant count the amount of times Ive stood waiting for a drink for 20 minutes because either they dont realize I was there first or theyre serving their friends first. The only one I havent seen do this is Erin. One thing they have going for them is the bouncers. They dont tolerate BS, if someones been bothering you, let them know and theyll handle it. Karaoke would be soooo much better if the sound system was updated! Ryan is a great DJ, way better than the guy at bull and bear because he just goes from one singer to the next, doesnt waste time listening to the sound of his own voice.

Ive been to this bar several times since newly moved to the Monterey area. They have a decent beer selection with specials almost every time Ive been in. Certain days have karaoke with a outgoing dj which is fun, other days a live band is playing. The staff are friendly unless overworked or if youve had or appeared to have had too much then you might find your way out the door rather easy. The crowd is typical Monterey military/tourist mix with an occasional local which can be a bother for those seeking the more home town type bar with its own sense of "character". Overall a decent bar where you can meet a nice mix of people with bar food at its typical quality.

Dimly lit upon walking in off the street, but its a pub. Thats the theme here, a British Pub. Sitting up at the bar I was welcomed into conversation from complete random patrons with the bartender working diligently and expeditiously. The fish and chips were killer, just be careful when ordering the double because YOU WILL BE FULL! Im a guy who can eat and I struggled. Get the pub ale on tap, goes perfect with dinner and make sure to get plenty of malt vinegar for the fish and chips, no ketchup, gotta keep it authentic! Would absolutely bring my friends and family here for that meal alone. Well done chaps!

Took a friend visiting from New Zealand for a weekend trip to Monterey to see some sites and history. His one request was that we catch the New Zealand All Blacks vs Ireland game on television which happened to be playing that Saturday at 12:30am. The only sports bar and pub i knew of in that area was the Brit so we headed there. It was PACKED! But the bartender was nice enough to find the game for my friend and let us watch it until closing time. The bouncers were friendly and playful and the underage Military men and cougars were a great source of entertainment! ;) Overall we had a great time!

I went on a Friday night with a few friends of mine for dinner and drinks. We split the crab cake sliders, fried mushrooms, shrimp skewers, nachos, and I had the shepherds pie. Everything was delicious, the drinks were good, and the service was solid. The only minus was that they only had two people waiting tables the whole time we were there, so once it became a little busier the service was kinda slow. If youre not in a hurry though its great, probably not a problem any other day.

The staff is rude, the doormen act like frat boys, and the management cares more about protecting their employees from criticism than they do about good customer relations. Dont stumble, accidentally bump into someone, or give the doormen funny looks, youll probably be forcibly removed. Oh yeah, and the food is awful. The Crown has much better food, the Duck has better food and prices, and both have great service. Theres no need to put up with the Brit.

Came in for $1 tacos! Monday through Friday HAPPY HOUR 3:30pm-6:30pm draft beers are $4 , tacos are $1 or 6 tacos for $5. Tacos are small but tasty with yummy green sauce (salsa verde.) Service is good but has varied when I have came in before. Over all, good fast service. I have never had food here before the tacos, but they have a good selection of beer. Chill low key spot where you can have some beers and some snacks.

Uma grata surpresa. Cheguei pra jantar umas 21hs, meio vazio... e lá pelas 22hs começou um karaoke e começou a encher. Ficou super animado! Comida boa, variedade de cervejas e clima descontraído!

Had their Pub Burger and a Boddingtons Pub Ale. The Burger was awesome and the Boddingtons was great very smooth if you like Guinness youll love Boddingtons, unless you dont. The server was great just the right mix of attentiveness and sass. Ordered the coleslaw and wow that was some slaw. Happy hour prices are awesome but even if you miss happy hour I think its great food at a good price. Hail Britannia.

My friends love this place, but for me... it really smells awful some nights. If you get there early the bar just smells. I dont know how to describe it. Ive been overly harassed here several times by drunk patrons who were kicked out only to be let back in. I go here with friends, but usually under extreme protest.

Been here about 4 times now, great selection of pub beer and food. Not a spot for people looking to dance/pick up chicks or jersey shore types, its a more mature classy atmosphere. Service is good whether youre inside or out, good hangout spot. Tried the seafood platter, it was very good

Staff were great . Food was ok. I had fish and chips. Im not sure what the fish was but it was chewy not soft and flaky. That was a dissapointment however the American burgers were much better. I think its difficult for a brit to fairly judge as nothing tastes quite the same .

Anne our waitress was great. Friendly service and she made suggestions. My hubby was happy with his Guinness and bangers and mashers. The rest of the family had fish and chips and or with prawns. Great light breading with the perfect crisp. I recommend!
