I recently had a traumatizing experience at this restaurant. I feel the need to warn others so it doesnt happen to anyone else. I have been following a vegan diet for almost 10 years for several reasons. The only thing that I and other people with dietary restictions or allergies can do is to ask and trust the staff about ingredients so that we dont get sick or worse. In this situation I was concerned about the broth used to make the rice. The waiter said that he would go to the kitchen and check all the ingredients for me. He then went to the back and after a few minutes came back to tell me that I was in the clear because there was no animal products in the rice or other things I was considering ordering. I had to trust him. The second and last time I was at the restaurant was yesterday. When I was ordering our server informed me that there was infact chicken broth in the rice. This means that the first server either actually went to the extent of pretending to check and didnt and lied, or worse, he knew and just didnt care. This resulted in a panic attack for me. I drank water and cried while my friends ate quickly so we could leave. Before we left I had to talk to a manager. The man seemed indifferent while I was explaining why this is unacceptable and disturbing. I am still feeling pain and suffering from this, but honestly I am thankful this happened to me and not someone with a serious allergy. Do not support this buisness. They blatantly do not care if they make someone sick or worse, send someone into anaphylactic shock where their life may be in danger.

I will never eat here again, food was awful, service was meeh, I was over charged and I found a cooked plastic bag in my rice. I ordered my food to go and got the two flautas plate and 2 side tacos and was charged $24. When I asked why it was so expensive I was told the tacos were $6 each. I asked for two tacos its $6, thinking he was mistaken, but he said no each Taco was $6 and they were very very large and I wouldnt be disappointed. Well boy was I..... the tacos were very small had no sour cream or guacamole, even though I was told they would and only had meat & lots of lettuce. No where near $6 each... My flautas were way over cooked. The rice tasted really funny when I took a bite so I stopped eating it and thank God I did because I found a cooked plastic bag in my rice. I was so disgusted that I nded up throwing the rest of my food away. That was a waste of my $24 bucks...

This place does injustice to Mexican food. By far this is the worst Mexican food I have had. The chips were good but I ordered the pollo a la parilla was HORRIBLE, the chicken was dry and rubbery, the tortillas were store bought garbage and so were the flautas but the guy said they were hand made, yea right....and I was having dinner with my roommates mom who knows how to make hand made tortillas. I will never go back to this place, after moving from Texas to bay area this place is a disgrace to Latin cuisine. Absolutely horrible....if you actually think this place is good, something may be wrong with your taste buds.....very disappointed in choosing this place for new years eve dinner :(

Thee best Mexican restaurant experience for myself personally. I came from out of town to see my fiance and we decided to google a mexican restaurant. And wouldnt you know it, this one came up with the most reviews. Now this usually isnt a reason to visit a spot, but we thought we would. Best. Decision. Ever. Their service was absolutely impeccable. Not to mention their drinks were OFF the charts. Their food was excellent and now I know our mexican spot anytime Im back in town. Thank you La Pinata for the amazing experience!!! :) Totally recommend this place to ANYBODY from ANYWHERE!

I am a regular at the one in San Leandro but we were looking for a banquet room to hold a surprise dinner for our mom. The managers were so easy to work with and were very accomodating. They assigned us a great server (Armando !!!) and put everything out at the time we requested and gave us great service throughout keeping track of the bar tab and little things we needed etc....... I got plenty of compliments from our guests on the food tasting great!! thanks so much for helping us make this special occasion GREAT!!

My wife and I like going to this Fremont location of La Pinata! We have never been disappointed by the service or the food! Also, recently they did a special Tequila Tasting at Ohlone Cigar lounge which was excellent - the lady was very knowledgeable about the various levels of tequila. Certainly if you hear about one of their local area Tequila Tasting events, attend!

Casual dining experience, inexpensive prices for the generous portions, and a wide variety of choices. I always like the plato fuertes where you get to pick what you want to eat (enchilada, burrito, tamales, etc). The red chicken sauce enchilada, burrito, and pork tamale are my go-tos. Complementary chips & salsa are always nice. Overall, great Mexican food in Fremont.

Just wanted to thank the team at La Pinata for an excellent service and food. We had a great time on our visit to La Pinata on Friday, May 30, 2008. My family was raving about the food even this morning. We will be back and count us as your CUSTOMERS forever:-)) We will be referring your restaurant to our friends. The BRAR FAMILY

I have always liked La Pinata. This is one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants. They used to have a camerones de tequila crema that I would crave. It has been taken off the menu and therefore given me nothing unique to look forward to when I go. The food is still very good quality and service is spot on.

The restaurant is unevenly decorated with scenic wall paintings but spray painted, falling apart ceiling tiles. Also, it has a bar with TVs in same area as the main dining room. The chips and salsa are good. I enjoyed my enchilada and taco, cleaning my plate of the rice and beans included for the dinner.

The best Mexican food by FAR in Fremont (and there are a lot of Mexican restaurants around). The food is always very fresh, esp the veggies. The plates are big and hot and the service is always good. They have a nice little tequila bar and can accomodate large parties. I go here at least once a month.

Service was very good. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The food came fast and was very good. The food was authentic, as in the used Mexican crema and cojita cheese. We also ordered a cantanito which tasted very good as well. I recommend this place to anyone. I am definitely coming back
