My husband and I have been coming here for quite a few years now. There burgers, fries and milkshakes are great and I dont ever think weve had anything we were disappointed in. Quaint little place perfect for exotic and adventurous tastes (try their ostrich burger!) and boring people alike. Customer service is okay; the employees are all college students who unprofessionally take care of/hook up their friends in front of other customers so thats can be annoying. Parking is HORRENDOUS and even trying to turn into this place can get super hectic. I highly suggest parking down the street and walking here to save yourself some frustration, as its located directly off a freeway exit and on the corner of one of the busiest intersections and roads in all of Davis. There are Dutch Bros fanatics that constantly block the flow of traffic on one side, people trying to get fuel at Shell or food at In-n-Out on the other side, not to mention the heavy pedestrian and bicycle traffic constantly crossing all of these intersections!

Been hearing a lot about this place since I recently moved in the area. Decided to come here with my boyfriend today finally. Place was crowded, I was 3rd in line around 3pm. Its pretty dirty in here, everywhere, you can see our in the eating room and the open view to the kitchen so thats unappealing. Small eating area, but thats fine, the establishment itself looks like its falling apart. As for the food: ordered a basic cheese burger, pastrami sandwich and chili cheese fries to share with my bf. It took about twenty minutes. The cheeseburger and pastrami were absolutely delicious! The chili cheese fries enormous, but nothing special. Ill come again for the food and to try more of the food. If they cleaned up and were faster, Id give it a perfect score but it was alright.

Recently, when I mentioned that we always stop at "Murder Burger" in Davis on the way back from skiing, a friend shook his head in disappointment and said they werent good anymore. As I hadnt been in a year, I was really sad...but stopped last week to make sure his description was accurate. YAY...it was not! This place STILL ROCKS !!!! Years of serving the BEST cheeseburgers on sour dough rolls with all the fixins and crispy battered onion rings, and they are consistently FANATBULOUS! They serve exotic meat burgers, and sandwiches and the usual American burger joint fare, but theres just something extra special about the food and service here that Ill always stop for... Redrum Rocks! all hail the murder burger!

I know longer really care for Redrum (Murder) Burger. Back in the day, I loved this place. I would always tell people to go here when either coming to town, or passing by to get to Sacramento. Now I tell them to stay away. Food is not consistent. Usually flavorless. Terrible service. They dont seem to ever clean the place anymore. And the shakes are no longer what they used to be. Its not the worst in Davis, but by far not even close to being the best. I know that students love this place, but its more out of tradition than anything else. And now they overcharge for everything, too!

I would just like to say that, to me, the food was just average nothing special. And the bread was dry. The place was dirty and the managers voice was so loud it was irritating. Didt want to go outside because it was too hot. But mostly, the owner was very rude to one of his employees while we were there. You should NEVER belittle your employees and double NEVER in front of customers. I will not be going back. I could barely tell my fries were seasoned and I couldnt even taste the garlic mayonnaise.

This place has been a Davis landmark for me as long as I could remember. It has that old school hamburger stand feeling. Their food is on the greasiest side and people love that nostalgia. Personally, my weakness are the fruit shakes here. I mainly come here for a fresh banana shake-- and Im so sad when theyre out of bananas. Its fresh and taste like REAL bananas-- not artificial banana flavor (which is gross imo). Their other fresh fruit ones are good too, but Im hooked on bananas.

Pretty damn decent burgers. The vanilla milkshake was mildly disappointing. Ive had shakes where the vanilla flavor was so much more intense, but it was tasty. Ive also tried the tri-tip sandwich, which was quite disappointing as compared with most tri-tip sandwiches Ive tried. Also, it really seems to take them a long time to make their burgers. The place is no five-guys.

They have a wide variety of burgers at a decent price, especially if you use a coupon from the UC Davis newspaper. The chili cheese fries are loaded up and can feed two adults (though perhaps not two college students). Their snakes are also delicious. The building is pretty run down and old, and if you eat outside, be ready to be swarmed by wasps.

The burgers may no longer be so good their to die for... but they do have quite a selection! Bison, Elk and Ostrich are among the selections on the menu; and any burger is good on a sourdough bun. My meal was a bit pricey, a burger and shake set me back almost $19. Worth a try!

Solid burgers. Our default stop on the way to Tahoe from the Bay Area. Onion rings and other fried food are HUGE, with a very thick batter layer, so an order is easily split at least two ways. Shakes with fruit (some fresh, in season) are good - I recommend blackberry.

Ive loved this place since I was a kid. Everything is reasonably priced, since the portions are always large. Only place Ive ever seen a buffalo burger and an ostrich burger. Their shakes are absolutely amazing, and well worth the price when Davis hits 90+ degrees.

Had a 12 dollar Reuben, tasted like a 3 dollar Reuben. Compared to The Beach Huts Reuben I had last week (which was cheaper and absolutely delicious) I gotta say meh. Will have to try their signature burger next time to see if this place is worth coming back to.

Great burger! Some people might be turned off by the "dive" atmosphere, but if you want a great burger, delicious fresh fruit shake, and nice variety of sides, this is the place for you! They also offer ostrich, and bison burgers as well as vegetarian options.

Filthy dirty, French fries tasted reused ,mushrooms and zucchini were covered in bread, burgers were ok if you took some of the breading of the top. Shakes were alright I had better . The bathrooms were gross and dirty. I know I will not come back.

service is usually slow, but the fresh fruit shakes are great and the variety of meat is unique. try an ostrich burger. the fries are good example of the soft and greasy style. this place has been an institution in Davis for over thirty years.

I have been going to this place since I was a kid. The last time I stoped in the burger was ok, nothing special. My milkshake wasnt flavorful and was melted. I still love the onion rings here and will come back just for those alone.

Dirty was my first impression. Appears machines have never been moved for cleaning judging by the amount of dust bunnies stuck on refrigerant coils.Pricey was my second. Long wait.Onion rings were great. Burgers and fries bland.

By far the best burgers in Davis! Excellent mushroom "veggie" burger too!! Custom orders are their specialty and their staff are charming! Open late and on holidays to help those of us with strange schedules. Also, a pokestop ;)
