I had known this restaurant existed for quite a while but had never gone in. What a mistake that was. This is without a doubt the best mexican food I have found in Reading. I used to think Alebrije was the best, and they are quite good, but I was wrong. The service and staff are very friendly and plenty willing to talk to you at La Cocina Mexicana. The food is absolutely fantastic and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the large portion sizes. The owners, a husband and wife, are very nice people and are highly appreciative of your feedback. The outside of the building is very misleading, as the inside has been recently renovated. My recommendation, if you havent been here before then you should most definitely try it out.

Absolutely horrible service. I have worked in the food industry for a while and if you say you close at 9 that means the grills go off AFTER 9. The manager of this restaurant does not share these views and closed and locked the door at 8:40 and when I looked inside they turned off the lights to make it look like no one was there. I then called and asked what time they were open until and the told me 9pm which I thought was funny and told the manager I had been there not even five minutes ago and he preceded to yell at me when I told him he shouldnt advertise hes open till 9 if hes not. I have never spoken to an owner who was so rude. I will never go there again. Save your money and your time.

Horrible horrible place to eat. Was there the other day for the first time the bartender was a complete jerk. We finally were told to just go sit whereever and then didnt get our drink order taken for 15 minutes. They brought out the wrong food and tried to tell me it was what I ordered. We got chicken burritos and the meat was dark meat, some bone in it, some tendon and fat in it. We ate half and couldnt bare to eat anymore without throwing up. The waitress and bartender were rude the entire time, not friendly, do not go here. If you want good mexican in the are go to mezcals or alebrejie this place is a joke.

I live just 8 minutes away and I am supportive of my neighborhood businesses. The food is excellent (large portions); try the chicken burritos! The decor is beautiful; if you are a traveler, you know what I mean. The staff is courteous. I will be returning here for drinks and meals! Its part of where I live. Support your local merchants. Reasonably priced meals and drinks!

We found Chiles en Nogada at Tlacuani! It is a special entree celebrating Mexican independence that is delicious but very time consuming to prepare. The typical Mexican restaurant doesnt bother. We were thrilled to enjoy it at Tlacuani. We had a delightful lunch here. Our server Marisol went beyond good service to meet our many questions and needs. Viva Tlacuani!

A horrible place to eat, went there with a family, take our seats and believe it or not we literally waited for an hour or more to get our orders. the waitress was completely rude and unfriendly. even the manager didnt seem to care. worst experience Ive ever had with this place.if youre looking for a nice Mexican restaurant to dine in I suggest you look elsewhere

Came in around 6pm. Not greeted, seated ourselves outside. There were only one other table of guests and one person at the outside bar. Not busy at all. Good food and I usually experience great service here. Im not sure what happened with the other users or if they are just trolling but my wife and I never had a bad experience either here or the one in Kutztown. Its our favorite place to go for Mexican in the area. Try the fried banana, or ice cream for desert. :)

3 generations of my family eat here and we love it! Service is decent and friendly. The taste is wonderfully Mexican (not Tex-Mex) and foods are not drowning in cheese. Great cabbage salad comes with the chips. Good variety in entrees has kept us coming here for over10 years. The best Mexican in Berks

The food was good but the service was terrible. The waitress paid no attention to us, I felt as if I was an inconvenience to her. She seemed as if she was more interested in her cell phone. I really liked this restaurant but when Im treated that badly you wont see me there again.

My favorite local Mexican food place. Awesome enchiladas and quesadillas. Complimentary chips and salsa. Also be warned: if the server asks if you want red or green sauce with your meal, both are very good, but the green is super super spicy!

Great, authentic Mexican food. Although there is only 1 waitress working whenever we go, she has always been very nice. Great food, large portions, we always take food home. Definitely a great place to eat.
