Looks can be deceiving. It looks very cute for a date night with my husband. Even the decor inside was rustic and nice. Our hostess very sweet asked if we wanted to sit in the bar. We did and then it was down hill from there. Our waiter was very slow, except for the tables that were drinking quite the amount of alcohol. We had to ask 3 times for refills, he didnt even bring our dinner out to us someone else did. The french onion soup is horrible do not get this... its just really dark aju with onions and cheese. Way too salty. Then when we got our food, my husband ordered the ribs and I ordered fish and chips (which was recommended by the waiter). ONLY I did not get served fish and chips. I got some fried chicken with horseradish sauce... (I hate horseradish sauce) I took one bit and yuck. I asked a different waiter if what I got was supposed to be fish and chips... she said on NO. I then had to wait for my meal. My husband didnt want to eat in front of me so he waited too and then his food was cold. The only really good part of his mean was the mac and cheese and baked beans. My fish and chips were slimy and the bread coating had entirely way to much pepper. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone ... to bad its by a hotel those poor out of towners.

I have been going to Tanglewood for a few years but my last sevral trips have been less than satisfying experiences and I have decided not to return. My most recent visit was the worst one yet-we were seated in the lounge/bar area and there was one very loud and very intoxicated individual there who was VERY disruptive. Not only did the staff not ask him to tone done his voice or his use of obscenities, they spke to him in a similar tone and using similar language. Furthermore, the service was slow, portions were small, and the prices high. I ordered the teriyaki flat iron steak ($16.95) with potato and salad and received a cool piece of meat with no discernible teriyaki glaze at all, plain baked potato, and small bagged salad placed on a plate with a few olive pieces on it. My dinner companin got some crab cakes which were mostly bread crumbs and very very little crab at all. Oh, and we overheard our server tell the other table what the soup and specials were and she said that they "are not really something Id recommend, actually they are pretty bad". Overall this place has gone from being a reliable favorite to pretty bad. This is a 4+ year customer lost.

The outside of Tanglewood Grill looks rather unassuming. And at first sight i was disappointed in my choice. But as soon as we stepped in the door, my opinion changed dramatically. Decorated as if you were in a log cabin lodge, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff was extremely friendly, as we were greeted by three of them on our way to the table. The dining room was clean and well presented. Our waiter Eric was very friendly and attentive, but never taking it to the annoying Applebees style waiter. We enjoyed the hand battered onion rings which were incredible. The hamburgers looked a little bland. But were actually packed with flavor. I enjoyed the dessert heat burger, which was delicious and LOADED with grilled onions and jalepenos. We finished our meal with an incredible cup of apple crisp. The staff was quick and attentive but never made you feel rushed, not even bringing the check until all the food was gone, but when it was time, it came quickly. Overall a wonderful experience and the next time we are in Gig Harbor we will definetley be visiting again.

took my daughter and grandson here for a good-bye dinner before they flew home. They rarely get a chance to come here to visit and wanted to have a nice final dinner with them. First I could not figure out why it took so long to get our dinner as there were not many people in there, that should have been my first clue. Then the waitress tells me because of the time it takes to get my steak cooked properly it was taking some time. Finally our meal is brought out... boy was I surprised to finally get our meal. My steak and baked potato were so cold like it had been sitting out for awhile and forgot my 2nd side. My grandsons kids meal with 2 mini burgers were disgusting. The buns were so hard and the beef were burnt, I dont know how they expected a 4 year old to eat them. And the Salmon dinner had some type of sweet sauce that ruined the salmon altogether. I am so disappointed in Tanglewood.

We eat at Tanglewood frequently and have noticed a decline in the quality of the service and dishes that we have ordered. Tonight the bartender was oblivious to our presents and desire to order dinner even after seating us. The roasted turkey sandwich which I have been ordering for many years because it was always made with real sliced turkey, arrived at my place this evening with deli turkey on it….just not what the description reads on the menu…. Hope they dont loose track of the fact that they were once a well run and quality establishment and longtime customers such as myself do notice when things change, not for the better. It seems that they run out of Prime Rib early on the nights (Fri. Sat) that they serve it as well...

I have been going to Tanglewood since it opened and I use to love it but the portions and food quality have gone downhill. A few days ago I order soup and salad. I got a bowl of luke warm tomato, (I think it was canned) soup and lettuce on my plate. My friend ordered a sandwich and it was practically all bread. Honestly we would have gotten a much more satisfying meal at Panera Bread, and at a lower price. The service is not good either unless you get Susan. Susan is always very pleasant. I will not go back until they improve the portions and quality of their food. I do not mind paying the price if the meal is enjoyable. (I rate them 2-3 stars)

We were in this restaurant may times and had good meals but its been a few years. This time our meals were less than impressive but the service was good. We ordered fish and chips and the fish pieces were small with very little if any battering. We actually sent the order back and asked them to at least brown the fish a bit. Cole slaw was dry with absolutely no dressing... thats right, it was a bit of shredded cabbage. The salmon was dry and overcooked, terrible. We wont be back, it was was waste of calories and money this place has definitely gone downhill.

Came from out of town and was looking for a decent meal after a long trip. All in all, the waiter got our order wrong, they brought our entrées out in three waves (there was only three of us), the steak was horribly overcooked, and the food tasted horrible. The best part was the water!! Deffinetly not worry the time or money. We wanted desserts but we were too afraid to order any after the meal.
