This used to be my favorite thai place in fairfax. The food is great, the location is nice, and the service is generally quite good, but today I had an experience that totally ruined it for me, and I dont think I will be coming back. I went in for dinner with two friends who I was taking out in Fairfax for the first time. I had promised them a nice meal in a nice setting and went with what I thought was a sure thing. Unfortunately, I was wrong. We all ordered our food, and waited patiently. Within a reasonable amount of time, maybe 10-15 min, not sure, I wasnt counting. My dining companions received their food. I told them to eat since I assumed mine would be coming out soon, but it took another 10-15 min (maybe more) for my food to arrive. Unfortunately, the dish I ordered, larb gai (ground chicken salad) came out with chunks of pink chicken still showing through. I have ordered this dish many times at many places, and I have never seen it so pink, but who knows, maybe they made a mistake, or maybe the acid would have cooked it enough. I wasnt that fussed and just asked if they wouldnt mind cooking them a bit more for me, and that I was happy to wait. I assumed they would just throw it in the pan for another 1-2 min on high heat, but whatever they did, it took another 10 min. By the time my food came back, my dining companions were almost done eating. I asked to see if the rest of my meal was about to come out too and was told it would be out soon. After starting my meal I decided that I didnt want to make my friends wait around much longer, so I asked if I could have the rest of my meal cancelled. They said no (which again is very understandable) but still it didnt come out for another 15 min, so I have no idea why it took so long. In the end I had to have the rest of my meal packed up and just took it to go. Again, all of this would have been fine if they had been remotely apologetic, but they just didnt seem to care at all. I left my tip and left, but I dont think I will ever be back, at least not for dine in.

Courtside Thai is easily one of the best restaurants in Fairfax; it has fresh food, friendly staff, a full bar, and a great outdoor patio. The menu has a variety of Thai and other Asian dishes, with everything from curries to noodles to seafood. Everything is always super fresh, right down to the hot peppers (which grow along their front sidewalk). Come early if you want a patio table in the summer, as it fills up fast and stays that way. Dont be afraid to ask which seafood dish looks best that night, whats most popular, or whether the Thai mangoes are in season. Suggested dishes: nham sod (a spicy appetizer/salad with ground chicken, red onion, ginger, lime and peanuts), trout with mango salad (a whole fish; the mango salad is sweet and spicy), or the pad thai. They also have good vegetarian dishes. Its hard to find restaurants that do tofu well, but this one does! (Cocktails are not stingy on the liquor, either.)

I ate here with coworkers for lunch. Considering the reviews, I was highly anticipating this restaurant. My coworker had a soup to start. It is worth me mentioning his soup because I recoiled at the smell of the fish sauce in it. It was so strong I had to breathe in through my mouth while I held my breath. I like fish sauce and use it in my own cooking but this was painfully overdone. When my dish came out (something with beef) it too was drowning in fish sauce. I could smell it and taste it. I didnt finish my food, I couldnt stand it after two bites and when they saw that I didnt like it or wouldnt finish it, no one offered to give me something else or take it off of the bill. In the interim, my coworkers also did not like their food. I will NOT be returning. I much prefer Best of Thai around the corner

Ive been to Thailand many times. Ive been to seven or more Thai places in Northern Virginia too, and Im not sure why I always missed this place in my search. First, the service was to be expected. Thai people are by far the kindest hosts. The two people working are a team and so I got to meet both and practice a little of my Thai language. Always fun to do. Second, the food was on point. Thai dumplings were thick, juicy, and tasted great. Didnt feel like they were frozen at all. My crispy honey glazed duck was the best duck Ive had in my entire life. I swear to god it was better than some of the similar dishes I had even in Thailand proper (Bangkok and Krabi areas). I will be going back to this place and plan on dragging every one of my Thai friends with me! Treat yourself!

Just spent a week with my sister in Fairfax and we dined here twice. Food was exceptional and the staff eager to please. My sister and her husband dine here at minimum once per week and stated that everything they have had is equally good. Outside seating is very pretty and enjoyable. Inside decor lovely. The daquiris are extremely tasty. We tried, mango, strawberry, banana, pina colada. (not all at once) Really special. My nephew who claims to not like Thai food, found the meal quite to his liking and plans to return. All around a fine dining experience. I was dropped off at the airport, and they are going back again tonight!

This is, hands down, my new favorite restaurant. The food is super tasty and incredibly fresh! When you sit outside, you are literally sitting amongst the chiles and herbs that you will find in your meal - amazing! The staff is very kind and helpful. I chose to go there for my birthday, to bring my boyfriends parents while they were in town, and will continue to bring friends and family here for special occasions or just for yummy meals! If you are in a hurry, you may want to go somewhere else. The food is fresh and the waitstaff sometimes gets backed up - TOTALLY WORTH IT! <3

I absolutely adore this restaurant - it is my go to Thai restaurant in the Fairfax area. In the summer, the outdoor seating is amazing and spacious, while the indoor seating is cozy in the winter. The food is fantastic - I love the chefs creations as well as the classic Thai dishes. The service is also amazing; the waiters and proprietors are very friendly, and always make a personal connection with me when I go. While the service is not always the fastest, the friendly atmosphere and delicious food more than make up for it. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Fairfax has lots of Thai options, this is the best. The larb and spring rolls are great. The pad prik king is excellent and is the standard by which I measure all other thai places. I have yet to find any that comes within 80% of courtsides taste and freshness. Know that this is a mom/pop place so service can be slower on a busy night. They are super nice people though if you get the chance to talk with them. Edit: bumped stars from 4 to 5 after trying some other local and distant thai places, courtside is by far the best.
