Im going to be in the minority, but I do not love Pearl Cup. It does have a nice vibe and its definitely different and better than say, a Starbucks. I actually find myself excited to go, but I always come away disappointed. The drinks are fine, good even. But the drinks dont really stand out to me. The baristas are fine. The food is fine but expensive. The indoor seating flattens my pelvic bone into a fine powdery dust. I will say that the outdoor seating area is great. Its a nice place to chill with friends. The outdoor seating is also impossibly hard on the buns but that makes sense because its outdoors. Hey, seating at a coffeeshop is a big deal! Unless you have goose-down pillowy buttocks, this is a hard place to park yourself (pun INTENDED). In all seriousness, this is a weird review because I think many people will like and even love this place. Its got a cool aesthetic, has baristas who seem to know what theyre doing and talking about, and the vibe feels right for a small, hip coffee joint. I get that. But being a coffee and coffeeshop man, I gotta tell you that the drink quality and general chill-ability of Pearl Cup do not add up to a hearty recommendation from me. I say give it a try, you may end up loving it and I wouldnt blame you. But I think there are many other great, independent shops around that I would certainly put over this place. And it wouldnt hurt (zing) to bring a cushion if you plan on sitting for awhile.

Pearl Cup remains an anchor of the local, independent coffee scene. Pearl Latte is their acclaimed drink worth trying (TIP: can be ordered as Pearl Latte Light for those watching calorie consumption). Traditional espresso drinks are well-executed with quality, small-batch beans. (TIP: the baristas are accommodating with scissors from behind the bar -- the straws are longer than I prefer.) Prices are on par with most local coffee shops concerned about quality, though food items are on a bit high. When the weather is nice, available seating (indoors & outdoors) can become sparse and the free WiFi can slow -- it rarely degrades to a complete crawl, though. Ive only had to look for available seating at another coffee shop once in the course of a couple of years. Power outlets are plentiful (3-pronged, no USB). Dishes are expected to be bussed by customers; bins are available both inside and outside. Tables are bussed by the minimal staff when customers fail to clean after themselves, pending availability.

let me say I love this place, ah but sometimes they have new people, this Sunday the 14th a new girl made a sloppy (spilling over the top) Pearl latte but the usual perfect foam was missing and so it was filled to the top with milk alas, the strong flavor of the excellent coffee was lost in milk, typically the latte is more brown not white, its the standard here, and is almost always perfect, also, this morning tons of people waited while a male barista had to do all the work as the newbie couldnt really help, one more thing, the desserts used to be huge and recently have been smaller by half or two thirds, I dont buy them anymore, far too small for the price, anyway, on a good day, which is most of the time you can expect a superb Pearl latte, train the newbies to your impeccable standard before you turn them loose, ☮️

I have been to the pearl cup a several times now, I have gotten a few good cups of coffee, a couple bad cups of coffee, and they are usually out of creamer. That is my number one pet peeve, how hard is it to keep track of that? Maybe I just have high expectations because I am from Seattle, but I want snappy service. I dont want to stand at the counter for 5 minutes waiting for the barista to finally give me cream. The baristas are usually nice, sometimes snotty. The atmosphere is good, I would go more if the service was consistent. Such a bummer, I really wish I could love this place.

Um .. well its certainly a family-run business, but run by a family that you would never want to hang out with and who bickers constantly. The worst part of the experience is how many times the people working sneezed or coughed into their hands and never ever washed them (I was sitting with a clear view of back of the coffee making counter). Finally, one of the workers says she thinks she might be getting a cold (shocking!). Dont recommend. In a suburb where the only real other option of espresso is starbucks, I was excited to try this place out. I wished I had gone to Starbucks :/

Not a great experience mainly because of the service and coffee. The barista who made my iced mocha gave it to me with barely any ice and told me she didnt put the full amount of milk in it. Why would she tell me that and not remake the drink if she messed up? After tasting the drink it was terrible. My fiances drink was terrible and they gave drinks to the customers behind us first even though we ordered before them. The staff was super loud and was hard sometimes to talk to the person right in front of me. They seemed to be okay with subpar service. Wont be coming back.

First, let me mention their coffees. People travel to this newly gentrified part of town for their amazing roasts; not the stellar staff and hip part of town. Although the former definitely adds to the appeal of this espresso bar. The Pearl Cup has the best coffee beans in Dallas, the best latte in Dallas and some of the friendliest staff in Dallas. Free Wi-Fi, plenty of tables, cool little patio on Henderson. Definitely give the Pearl Cup a shot and buy a pound while you're there; you won't regret it.

Very good coffee (not as good as a couple other shops that are farther north) and a good location in Lower Greenville. I go there all the time. Very friendly staff and free wifi. My biggest gripe is that the food and drinks are a little expensive (but the location makes it worthwhile instead of having to drive to Garland or Addison) Also, the temperature inside can creep up a little in the summer when the sun is shining through the large windows and everyone is using their laptops. Seating is about average..

Adorable little coffee spot. I ordered a soy machiatto since I cant drink regular milk however the barista was super nice and let me have a tiny sample of that Pearl milk which goes into the Pearl Latte and it was absolutely delicious, very sweet, smooth, and made me wish I could have one. The wraps are great with fresh tasting ingredients and the espresso was smooth tasting and well colored. Limited seating might be a slight downside but otherwise this place deserves its reputation.

Nothing was out of the ordinary aside from the service. We went in and sat at the bar. We had to introduce ourselves and ask them about what drinks they were known for. The staff tersely informed us that we would have to get up and walk over to the register to order and pay. Service and friendliness cost nothing and make all the difference in the world. I doubt Ill be back.

The espresso is killer, the service needs improvement. I get coffee here everyday and thoroughly love every sip. The issue is that the majority of the employees dont really know how to treat a customer, a very loyal customer at that. They need to learn from Josh and Andre, who are fantastic all around. My coffee seems to taste even better if I get that extra service.
