07/01/2017- Service and dining experience not so good. * Waiter would disappear, neglected to take used dishes from the table and refill coffee even after being asked. * Sirloin Steak was brought cold and had to be sent back to to warm on grill. The steak had a good flavor but found to be extremely grisly on one side. Not typical of a sirloin. * I Never received the final cup of coffee I had to ask the waiter for even after he had returned to our table twice. So I just gave him my used empty cup that had been sitting on the edge of the table and said dont worry about it.

After reading the wonderful reviews we went for lunch today. Except for my husbands fish and daughters salad the food was just barely average. The grilled chicken breast was tender but over seasoned and the garlic potatoes tasted like they had been heated in a microwave. Since we didnt get there until 2:00 is wasnt busy so we should have had good service. Although our server did come to our table with drink refills, our plates werent removed when we were done eating and we had to ask for our bill. I would not go back.

This is a popular place & for very good reason. The Depot is one of our favorite restaurants. Weve never had a bad meal & we always like to try something new every time we go. No matter what you choose for your main fare- have the sweet potato fries as one of your sides. AWESOME!!! If youre in a hurry- you had better call ahead or come before 5pm for dinner. But if you end up waiting- its still very much worth the wait.

We went there to eat and they didnt let us in. They said they were closed, when I could clearly see costumers inside. We went at 1:30pm of a Tuesday afternoon and, as per their opening hours, they should be open and they wer. But not for us. It felt like that was a racist behavior. They denied to serve us, and that is the worst thing to do when you are in this sorta business. So mad and disappointed.

The first time my wife and I ate there was when we were looking at houses, our realtor brought us there. Seven years later we are still going there. We both have been in the restaurant business for about twenty years, so we appreciate the great service, great food, and the laid back, small town feel that makes it a great place to eat. We have never had a bad meal there. Check them out!!

The mac and cheese is good enough to get you out of your house & down to the Depot. Have the incredible banana pudding( no wavers&mind blowing) for appetizer &dessert! Like I do. You cant go wrong with Any entrée from Lamb to Ribs. Large portions great house salad,they serve great food at a fair prices.Small Place Big Taste :The Depot, skip Nashville head to Springfield!

This is a true gem! Absolutely the best meal Ive had in my 2 years in Tennessee! Almost everything is made in house and never frozen, even the sauces!! The owner Doug even made multiple passes around the floor to personally check on and talk to every single table!!! Ask for Jeffrey, hands down BEST service I have experienced! Will be back many many times!!

Really delicious food in a pleasant, small-town atmosphere. Excellent service and a good selection of reasonably priced entrees. Some standard sandwich fare with some more "foodie" offerings like the duck salad and Mahi sandwich. The house soup was wonderful. Not a ton of seating, so Id imagine youd need to call ahead for a bigger group.

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at, especially for a small hometown establishment. It is rare that everything, from the service to every single part of the meal, can be considered excellent. But this place has it. Highly recommend. Also, it is about 45 minutes drive for us and well worth the drive.

If you are in Springfield, TN or even 20 minutes from Springfield, you must go here. Its that good. The staff is excellent and the food is superb. You cant get Chicken Parmesan this good unless you plan on going to Nashville. Dont let any review about their small size and wait time affect you. Give them a try.

Someone else choose this place to stop on a motorcycle ride through the area. The food was shockingly great. The only thing bad I can say about this place is that it is too far for me to go on a regular basis. The food in the Depot is simply fantastic in every regard.

A little pricey on some of the menu options, in my opinion, but otherwise a very nice place to enjoy something different in springfield. I love the beer selection, however, its all bottled beer and nothing on draft. Chili and their other soups have been soon good, too.

Great little place - nice full menu with some unique items, very good food (we had the BLT and the Hobo Wrap and loved them both), extremely friendly staff. If youre looking for something other than the typical chain restaurants along the highway, this is your place.

I was in town and just stopped through to check it out. Cant praise this place enough. Great food, great service, and great proportions! I would recommend this place to anyone. The place is kinda small, but thats the price you pay for a small town bar and grille.

I called to made a reservation for 4 people, One cant make a reservation unless you have 6 people. 4 people are not worth their time I was told on the phone. How important does that make you feel? It may be good food, but on the phone they are a bit snobby.

My boyfriend brought me & two of our friends here one night & I fell in love with it! It had a nice laid back country theme to it, the people are polite, service is great & the best part was the trains going by & getting to be soo close to them!

We have loved The Depot for years - Doug and his entire staff are so obviously dedicated to bringing delicious food to their patrons. When we send folks for their first visit and they ask, "Whats good?", we simply say "everything!".

Waited an hour and ten minutes for the forty-five minute wait on a table for five. Was standing room only inside and out front. Excellent place but decided to go to another place down the road, will try again on a later date.

There is no other words to describe this restrauant other than AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I cant think of a restrauant in Springfield, Rivergate, or Goodlettsville area that holds a candle to the depot. Keep up the good work.

My favorite local restaurant byfar, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, and Hobo Wrap are my favorites, the sweet potato fries go good with everything on the menu or, for a healthy side, the asparagus is the BOMB!!!
