My wife and I went for lunch on a Wednesday. Not a ton of beers on tap, but a decent little selection. The waitress knew beer, which was very refreshing after several experiences in Saratoga over the previous week. (One such conversation; "Hoppiest beer on tap? Uh, let me go ask the bartender...") Fish and chips were awesome; batter was light and crisp, fish was tender and flaky. Beat "Parting Glass" fish and chips from a few days before hands down. Cobb salad was fresh and very good. Only downside to the experience was that due to small space all the tables were packed in around the bar. It quickly got pretty loud. If you are looking for a quite "restaurant" experience this isnt really it. I wont knock off any stars for that, though. You just need to know the venue you are going into. The website shows a "pub garden" which looks very cool but apparently wasnt open when we went. Well definitely be going back!

Very nice place, good selection of beer, however their selection of lunch food was a bit lacking. The only things they had were burgers and fish and chips. The fish and chips where great though! Service was a bit slacking. They had a seat yourself sign so we found a seat and sat there for about 7 minutes before someone said they would be right with us. Food came out quick and was asked if we wanted tartar sauce, which we said yes to. Both of us were about half way done with the meal before she came back with the sauce. Parking is a bit of a pain though, nothing against the business. Pay attention to the No Parking signs which are littered about.

The food here is delicious. I love going here, just make sure you ask about the specials on the weekends they are always amazingly delicious. Id dare say even better than their regular menu which is also amazing. Their fish and chips are delicious, but Im more of a fan of their Shepards pie, or Bubble and squeak. Ive been here quite a bit, their breakfast menu is delicious too, love their home fries. My only complaint is sometimes finding parking is a pain, so try to avoid popular meal times and youll have an easier time. But if you love Irish food or even just pub food this place is amazing. My mouth is already watering just writing this.

I was there two days ago. It would have gotten 5 stars except one thing. The shepards pie comes in a large cup similiar to what chili would come in Eleven bucks for a large cup of shepards pie and 4 slices of a bagette. I could have gone down route 9 to an establishment there that has shepards pie for the same price that is 3x the size. I left the place hungry, and am extremely disappointed in the size. Overall... atmosphere - A+. Waitress - A+. She was extremely pleasant although she disappeared for a considerable period of time. Food - B. Food was good but portion size needs to be enlarged.

I have been to The Local a number of times, in general the food is awesome for bar food. However, the service is absolutely reprehensible. The disregard for costumer satisfaction is very apparent. Of course it is not every member of the staff, really it is only the waitresses. I think they are meant to be an attractive addition to the scene, but this is lost in their bitchiness. Bartenders are great and the owner is nice. I say sit at the bar and eat there.

One of the best sliders I have eaten in a while... My wife and I where driving from Canada to Pennsylvania and needed a place to eat at a late hour in the evening. We were pleased to find this place open on a Wednesday late night and find that although some locals were louder than preferred the overall experience was very positive. The name is very appropriate since most locals have their own beer mug hanging at the bar by number.

Went in around 6:30 and stood at the hostess stand for over five minutes while the hostess made eye contact with me and smiled, but continued to polish silverware. Was never verbally acknowledged, and was passed over for other customers that came in after us to be seated. Found this to be very rude and walked out with my party.

My husband and I were up from DC visiting friends and stopped in here for a bite on our walk back from town. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, we loved all the wood (bar, booths, walls...), the food was delish (great Shepherds Pie and huge tasty nachos!) and the service was charming. We will definitely be back!

Used to be fairly frequent visitors because the food and atmosphere. We stopped going due to the terrible service. We kept going hoping it was just one waitress but most of them are terrible. The owner/management should really try to improve the service as there are so many other choices in Saratoga.

I cannot figure out why people find this place good. The service was horrible. The fries were cold. The sandwiches are 99.9% bread and when you order it as take out, it is even worse. I feel that people just like the location and drinking, but in Saratoga, there are far better places than this.

Went for brunch on a Sunday morning not expecting much...but this place was surprisingly great! Only downside was that their sausage in the Irish breakfast was not real Irish sausage so dont expect that. Backyard seating was quiet but undecorated. Otherwise good service good food

My husband and I were suggested to go here by a fellow traveler. The food here is amazing, unique, great flavors, friendly bar staff in a very home cooked meal atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling through Saratoga, its a real hidden gem!

I went here with a friend for dinner on a Tuesday night. The place was busy. The food was very good, our server was polite and friendly, and the prices were reasonable. I am looking forward to going back! I only wish they had more tables for seating.

If you serve a vegetarian burger with a portabella mushroom as the patty (instead of black bean or soy or such), where it the protein? There wasnt a single dish for vegetarians with protein on their menu. Worst place for vegetarian food.

Extremely slow service. Got my coffee an hour after asking for it. Waitress never stopped by once, never got the water I asked for. Food may be good but the service makes it absolutely not worth coming. Employees need serious training.

I love this stuff, breakfast, lunch and dinner! The specials never disappoint. The locally sourced NY Strip bison steak special was my favorite. Leave it to the local to find an adirondack bison farm and cook it to perfection.

Good food but service takes a long time. Been there 3 or 4 times and each time waited 10 minutes or more for the server to start us off with drinks. I come back for the food but the service responsivness could improve

Tea house and pub is a great combination, I have had good food, good tea and good beer here for more than five years. I do wish they would bring back the waffle fry nachos but other than that no complaints

The dinner specials lately have been amazing. Grilled citrus salmon with vegetable pilaf and asparagus was the best meal I have had this year! The beer is always cold and the staff are always friendly.
