The people who work there are very nice and if it werent for them I wouldnt even bother going there but as far as winning anything at the "Casino" and I use the term loosely, you might as well throw your money on the floor and have fun watching people find it! The machines are virtually shut off! 4 years ago you could actually win something and you would hear about someone winning about every half hour or so but those days are gone and they dont even give you a little to let you keep playing for a while its just take and with no give! If you are there for several hours you might hear them announce a winner at which time they brag about how "There are thousands of jackpots every month and you could be next"! I would like to see them prove that! The place is so cheap you cant even get a large cup of coffee unless you can find a waitress that is willing to risk her job to sneak you one! Further more you will have to put up with a women screaming over the loud speakers about giving away $150 in Free Play to some lucky winner like they were giving away the house! No matter how many hotels they build the place will be just a bad memory once the Rivers Casino opens in Schenectady!

This review is for the Buffet. The buffet is located inside Saratoga Casino Hotel - all the way in the back. My coworkers and I decided to stop by here after going to Roosevelt Spa and checked out the buffet offerings. At $16 per person for dinner, it wasnt a horrible choice and the food was okay. There wasnt a huge variety but to name some of the options: - Italian Station: various pastas, garlic bread and pizza. The pastas were overcooked - Salad station - Asian Station: Veggie gyoza, lo mein, sauteed mixed veggies, teriyaki whitefish, fortune cookies, white rice. The fish was excellent - Dessert Station: Pound cake, various pies, brownies, fruits - Carving Station: Turkey and Beef, on the sides they had mash potato, sweet potato, au jus, pot roast (way to hard/tough), wild rice. The sweet potato mash with marshmallow was really good and not overly sweet, the wild rice was flavorful but on the saltier side. - Soup Station: Chicken noodle, miso, corn and turkey chowder. Corn and turkey was good but really salty. Service was excellent, value was decent. The place itself could use a renovation because its really dim and colorless inside.

Love this hotel. Perfect mid-week get away. Booked on-line with ease. Very reasonable for race season and so close to everything. Decor is new and everything was sparkling clean. Each employee we encountered was so accommodating. The Front Desk staff, the shuttle drivers, waitstaff at Mortons Steak House.. The fact than you can watch the trotters or go to the Saratoga Race way is outstanding. View from our room overlooked the trotters practicing during the day and racing at night. The hotel shuttle is awesome. Park your car and just forget about it until you check out. Shuttle takes you to track and to downtown Saratoga then picks you up with a simple call to the driver. I can not say enough about this hotel. Casino is huge and no smoking...................Foxwoods move over. Ill drive the extra 40 miles for this one!

Update (5/28/17) just left again. Ive decided to keep track of what I have after I spend the original money. At the end of 75 dollars the machine had 27 dollars in it...thats 36%...thats extremely low for any casino, probably less than a scratch off. I will keep updating as much as I can. (Ps, I played that 27 dollars through at 1.20 spins and made two positive wins before it went to zero) Just left....took 43 spins (on 80 cents a spin) before I got my first win (more than 80 cents)...overall I got a positive win 9 times out of approximately 150 spins...Im going to start document my plays...takes about 4 minutes to go through 75 dollars at 80 cents a piece. 7 dollars was our biggest win...it was on a bonus game where we got twelve spins with 2x win

Comfortable atmosphere that feels much safer than other casinos close by. Players Club, drink servers, cashiers, security, and Lucky Joes staff are mostly very friendly. Daytime casino floor staff tend to be not as pleasant as the night staff. Hotel and pool are very nice. Was VERY dissatisfied when casino closed several hours after a recent snow storm was over. Local competitive casino was open and full of players, many of whom were also displeased at the closing. Casino management tends to change rules frequently, so consistency is an issue with their policies. Some machines have minor issues, mostly the Bally ones, and seem to not be well maintained by the Bally staff.

Recently theyve been offering free one night hotel stays and Ive stayed twice. I had a really hard time getting someone on the phone to make a reservation. For my second visit I called and left multiple voicemails. Also, during my second stay I got there at 5:00pm to check in and they didnt have any rooms ready! That was two hours past check in time. If I paid to stay that night I would have been furious. They didnt have a room ready for my wife and I until 7:00pm. The rooms in my opinion are beautiful though! The decor is excellent! If getting connected to the front desk was easier, and the rooms were ready in time I would be rating them 5 stars!

every time we go to casino can not win at all sometimes you can win a little but not enough to keep playing. Been going there for a while it has gotten worse since they added the hotel. They tighten up the machines to pay for hotel. All you people out there that want a fun time go to Yellow Brick Road Casino in Verona or Turning Stone. Jackpots seem to go to people who have higher club cards then to the ones that dont. I know my comment means nothing to them they dont care thats the way they are.

Its been three years since weve visited the casino, and its good to know they have updated the casino and updated their slot machines as well. One thing that could improve upon is the drinks service. We never saw anyone coming around with drinks. I would also say their choice in wine and beer selections is not exactly the best. Also, the payout on the slot machines is not the best either. Be prepared to lose your money before you win any.

tightest slots anywhere - buffet was meh - server didnt pick up plates and forgot drink orders - hot food cold, tough meat at carving station - slot machines are filthy. The place smells like musty old carpeting. Unfriendly staff: unbeknownst to me a service light was on my machine and was scolded for having it on ("youre wasting my time") Go to Rivers Casino - new, clean and slots actually pay. Staff is welcoming and friendly.
