Our family came to New York from York in England, and on the 3rd night we were looking for places to eat and we found the west way diner on the map and gave it a shot. I ordered the Chilli Cheeseburger and it was delightful! One minor thing on the first night we came one waitor kept coming over every 2 minutes but I think she was just being polite. We went to westway every night for the rest of the holiday because we loved it so much!! I had chilli over rice, gujons and chips, and the lone star burger, yum!! I also had Oreo and strawberry ice cream that was to die for. One special mention to a waitor, unfortunately I do not know his name but looked after us so we made a friend on holiday lol! When I had gujons and chips we gave a scoop of ice cream to all of us !! Lovely man. On the day we flew back to England we came again for breakfast and the stack of golden brown pancakes were the best Ive ever tasted and the sausages were tastily amazing and the eggs were nice. If I ever go back to New York I will definitely visit westway diner! Thanks guys at west way diner xx Fun fact as well; Seinfeld was planned In west way diner

Just visited NYC with the family. As we hadnt paid for breakfast at our hotel, we went for a walk on the first day there, to scout for a place to eat. We had a general idea on where we could find something... but on the way there we passed the Westway Diner, and decided to give it a chance. A decision we didnt regret. Service was smiling and quick, and the food was great and served in well-meaning portions. Second day, we tried another restaurant, as we wanted to try different things.... this didnt quite match our stay at Westway Diner, so for the remain of our stay in NYC (6 days) we went back to here for breakfast... AND all days we left with our stomach full and a smile on our face. Some of the stuff that we really appreciated was, that even though the place is well visited, the atmosphere is calm and quiet. The staff are very friendly and you cup (coffee) is never empty. Our two kids loved the place, and enjoyed the wall decorations as well, speaking about all the places we either already had seen/visited or was going to. Fully recommendable to all, and we will most certain come back if we are going to NYC

We stayed around the corner at The RIU Plaza and Id looked at the Westway before we left the UK. We gave it a try on our 3rd night in town and never went anywhere else for our evening meal for the rest of the holiday - its *that* good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was universally outstanding. Check out the spicy chicken and green peppers - I had it 3 times...; The kids loved the burgers and chilli and the breakfasts were amazing too. Given the Westways proximity to the Theatre District and The Actors Studio, you might also see a few familiar faces...; Im a massive Seinfeld fan, but didnt find out until *after* I came home that the Westway is the real Seinfeld Diner (not Toms up on Cathedral Parkway) - and the place where the show about nothing was conceived. Outstandingly clean, all food was super fresh, the beer was cold and the prices were great. I noticed a lot of cops picked up their sandwiches from there - thats always a good sign! Go to the Westway - you wont be disappointed - also, its in a groovy part of town!

Great breakfast. Open all night. Bustling but large enough that there isnt usually a wait. I live in the neighbourhood and have been slowly searching for a replacement for the much lamented Market Diner. Thanks to #w42st magazine for the pointer to this easily missed gem hidden in the tourist capital of the tourist capital. The lost art of the American Diner has been rediscovered here: open 24hrs, busy, fast service, vinyl booths, breakfast-all-day, pay at the register, fresh short order meals that fill the table and the stomach. Outdoor seating on 9th. I had the waffles and fried chicken - this should be the feature item. Have this for breakfast and youll be good all day. The waffles were superb: light and crispy. Splurge on the real maple syrup please, otherwise you get HFCS. Yuck. Fried chicken very crispy though a bit light on spices. Loved it. Ill be back. Couldnt get the wifi to work. Will try next time. Coffee could use an upgrade.

Absolute Weiterempfehlen.

Had an enjoyable breakfast of french toast, bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs. Although busy, we were seated quickly and the service and food was fast. No complaints about the food at all. Everything was fine until the server brought the check. I watched him deliver two other bills to tables before ours. When he saw my Mom reviewing the check, he leaned down and whispered that the 20% service fee was not included. He didnt say that to the other tables!! I was so offended and disgusted that I just wanted to leave that place. We normally tip far and above the recommended percentage for good service. We still left a tip, but I will never give this place my business again, even though I was a repeat customer. This was our third time and last time coming here.

Worst ever! They should not be in business Went in for an early breakfast around 8 am on a sunday As soon as my kid and I walked in (3yr old) They told us to sit all the way back right by the restroom Told us it was the only two people booth available when apparently the whole diner was empty Told us they couldnt give us any other table My baby wasnt screaming running around throwing things We just came in for a nice breakfast Yes I came in with a kid but that doesnt mean you throw me at the back by the restrooms So im the end we walked out and they actually rolled their eyes at us Wow.. i wondered if they had any kids or nieces of their own If they would do the same to theirs Shame on you people

Consigliato.

Stopped here randomly for a quick lunch. The interior seemed very nice and the menu was varied like expected in a diner. I went for a lunch special which includes a choice of soup, entrée and a drink. The service and everything else was very good. I had a chicken noodle soup followed by a turkey burger, and a cup of coffee. To be honest, the food was a bit so-so. Except the french fries that came with burger, those were really good actually. Burger was dry, even for a turkey burger. I actually had doubts at first if it was really a turkey burger because of the dark color. Overall and average diner, convenient prices and choices for everyone. Good for tourists.
